I will go for moses, he kept Cameroonian full backs busy.
simon Moses lack football sense. He is one dimensional kinda player. Iwobi can wreck Zambia defence with his trick and split passing. Nevertheless, I know Rohr will start Simon.

Anyone who has access to Osimhen should advice him to start looking forward to playing football else where. Chrisantus has adviced him severally, dude's career ain't tripping up, it's pointing downhill! Dude should seek to showcase his career elsewhere.

5 Zambian ‘Copper Bullets’ Super Eagles Must Smother In Uyo!

Ahead of the Super Eagles’ 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Uyo on October 7 2017; Completesportsnigeria.com’s JOHNNY EDWARD takes a look at five Chipolopolo (Copper Bullets) players who have talents to make huge difference for
their team in Uyo.

1. Stopilla Sunzu (Defender)
Age: 28
Club: Arsenal Tula, Russia

Stopilla Sunzu is one of the most capped players in this current young Zambian squad having made 65 senior appearances since making his debut in 2008.

The Super Eagles parading back to form Odion Ighalo, Victor Moses and Moses Simon must get past the defence line marshalled by Sunzu. So far in the World Cup qualifying campaign, Zambia have conceded four goals in four games. The Chipolopolo will be banking on the Arsenal Tula of Russia defender to stop the Nigerian side from scoring on October 7.

2. Brian Mwila (Striker)
Age: 23
Club: Platinum Stars F.C. Zambia

Brian Mwila stamped his authority in the the Chipoloplo team since he made his debut in June this year. The Platinum Stars F.C youngster has so far bagged seven goals in his first eight games for Zambia.

Mwila’s brace against Algeria in in Ndola rekindled Zambia’s World Cup hopes. They followed that performance with an away win against the Fennecs four days later though Mwila was missing due to injury.

Mwila, is currently Zambia’s joint top scorer in the CAF 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with two goals along with Collins Mbesuma. He is definitely one player that the pair of William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun must watch closely.

3. Kennedy Mweene (Goalkeeper)
Age: 22
Club: Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa)

Zambia recording back to back wins over Algeria was not just
down to the players who ensured they outscored the Fennecs, but a certain Kennedy Mweene, between the posts, was also instrumental to the success, coupled with the performance of the rock-solid back four led by Stopilla Sunzu.
Mweene has one cleansheet, and his penalty save from Riyad Mahrez in Constantine secured an historic win for the Chipolopolo away from home for the first time in seven matches.

4. Patson Daka (Striker )
Age: 22
Club: Redbull Salzburg

Patson Daka continued his goal scoring spree for his Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg in their 3-1 away win against third division club Bruck/Leitha in the Second Round of the Austrian Cup on Thursday night. Daka, a sure bet to start against Nigeria, can stretch the Super Eagles defence line if he replicates his current form. Recall he was the match winner for Zambia in their historic win over Algeria in Constantine on matchday-four of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. That win brought Zambia back to reckoning with seven points, three points behind leaders Nigeria.
Ernest Mbewe

5. Ernest Mbewe (Midfielder)
Age: 22
Club: Zanaco FC

Mbewe is one of the new players in the Zambian squad that have fully justified their inclusion in coach Wedson Nyirenda’s squad.
The Zanaco United FC midfielder was detailed to stop Riyad Mahrez in the second leg in Constantine, and his job in Uyo will not be different. He will be saddled with the duty to stop Victor Moses from making those surging runs into the Zambian penalty area just as they will also look to shackle John Mikel Obi from getting hold of the midfield in the crucial encounter.

8 Super Eagles Who Will Lead Zambia’s Copper Bullets Extinction In Uyo

The Super Eagles are on the cusp of qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. A win against the Chipolopolo of Zambia on October 7 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium Uyo will confirm Nigeria’s appearance at next summer’s World Cup, but any other result will prolong the two horse race to the last matchday-6 of Group B in November.

Completesportsnigeria.com’s IZUCHUKWU OKOSI in this piece looks at the Super Eagles players who can hurt the Zambians in Uyo.

ODION IGHALO: Striker – Changchun Yatai, China

Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo was key in the Nigeria’s home and away World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon in September which the Eagles won 4-0 and drew 1-1 respectively. He scored one of Nigeria’s goals in the four-goal rout in Uyo on September 1.

Ighalo has so far scored 12 goals (34% of the club’s total of 35 goals in 23 league appearances at press time) for his Chinese Super League side Changchun Yatai with 2,053 minutes of playing time to his credit.

Ighalo’s form will continuously be a source of concern for players and the coaches of the Zambian national side.

The striker will be hard pressed to get more international goals for Nigeria after four goals to his name in 12 international games.

The striker can also assist as he can score in equal measure and has got three assists this season meaning his partnership with the other attacking players will cause all sorts of problems to the Chipolopolo defence. He also likes to dart to the wings which will keep the Zambian defenders busy all through the game.

Dribbling is one of Ighalo’s biggest assets and his shots per goal have been encouraging. He will surely be massive against Zambia, he only needs to avoid holding on to the ball for too long.

VICTOR MOSES: Wing-Back: Chelsea, England

Chelsea right wing-back Victor Moses has been Nigeria’s most influential player in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign

Moses scored a brace against Algeria in their first leg clash in November 2016 and repeated the feat against African champions Cameroon in Uyo on September 1, 2017.
Given how he breaks at pace and gets into good positions, it will not be hard to fathom the Nigerian being a thorn in Zambia’s flesh on October 7.

Perhaps the question is: how many goals will he score?

OGHENEKARO ETEBO: Midfielder – Fereinse, Portugal

Much of the attention in the Nigerian midfield would naturally be on captain John Mikel Obi, but the league form of Fereinse of Portugal midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo could count for something in the clash against the Zambians.

The player has scored three goals in six top flight matches in Portugal this season.

The former Warri Wolves player has played eight international matches for Nigeria. He was not involved in Nigeria’s game against Cameroon at home, but only came off the bench in the reverse fixture in Yaounde.

That is already a reason to prove to Gernot Rhor that he deserves to play more for the Super Eagles. Etebo is a midfielder good at driving forward with the ball and hitting the ball hard. His impact will be felt the more if handed more playing time than he got against the African champions.

LEON BALOGUN: Defender -Mainz, Germany

Centre back Leon Balogun has played three games so far for his German Bundesliga side FSV Mainz, and thankfully, was not injured in their 4-0 defeat against Bayern Munich on September 16 after some time on the sidelines receiving treatment for a foul.

Balogun’s energy and probing runs deep from the Nigerian end of the pitch against Cameroon was exciting to see and he could be a genuine threat to the Copper Bullets, especially from dead ball situations.

The towering defender brings out the best in former U-23 star William Troost Ekong. His defensive astuteness will hopefully not desert him when it matters most on October 7.

AHMED MUSA: Forward – Leicester City, England

Somewhat forgotten as his club form for Leicester City have dipped, Eagles forward Ahmed Musa could be the trump card that coach Rhor deploys against Zambia especially in the second half.

The Zambian defenders will predictably focus on the likes of Victor Moses who by the way is perhaps the most important player that the Eagles have had in the 2018 World Cup qualification. No doubt.

That is exactly where an Emmanuel Amuneke-esque player hitherto unheralded or deprived of ample playing time will rise and punish the Zambians. Remember the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations final against Zambia in Tunisia?

Musa may be the ex factor in the game and thereby resurrect his fast fading impact in the Super Eagles with a splendid show in two weeks’ time.

JOHN MIKEL OBI: Midfielder – Tianjin TEDA, China

The captain of Nigeria. John Mikel obi needs no introduction and what he brings to the Super Eagles is magic.

Mikel Obi was solely missed in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa but his presence
positive vibes to the team versus the Indomitable Lions.

The skipper’s availability alone for the match will be bad news to the Zambians. Mikel will bring the leadership and charisma that the opponents will revere.

Every team goes to war with their best warriors, Mikel’s passes and ball retention will be key factors that could shoot down the Chipolopolo backline. Mikel scores the odd goals and his contributions will be massive.

ALEX IWOBI: Midfielder – Arsenal, England

Arsenal attacking midfielder cum forward Alex Iwobi scored his first international goal for Nigeria in the reverse fixture against Zambia in Ndola in the 2-1 win on 9 October 2016.

Iwobi brings creativity and also exuberance to the national team just as he does whenever he is given the opportunity at Arsenal.
Iwobi was not involved in the Cameroon double headers due to injury but is expected to be back for the match in Uyo on October 7.

It will be an uphill struggle for the Zambians to pin the skilfully Iwobi down to a position as he is used to drifting wide every now and then. Iwobi’s contributions are expected to focal in an anticipated victory for the Super Eagles.

Hopefully another October date against the Zambians will be a good outing for Iwobi and the Eagles.

KELECHI IHEANACHO: Forward – Leicester City, England
Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho has had a decent record for the Nigerian national team so far since his debut on 13 November 2015 in a second round, first leg fixture of the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Swaziland which ended 0-0.

Iheanacho has gone on to score seven goals for the Super Eagles in 12 appearances and the former youth international who only played 39 minutes in total against Cameroon (29 at home, and 10 away) may find himself getting into the starting lineup or at least more playing time against the Zambians.

Iheanacho’s powerful left foot packed with canon, and his ability to pop up at vintage positions to receive the final ball from teammates will be massive when Zambia come to town.

The former Manchester City forward was credited by the Premier League to having the best goals-to-minutes ratio of any player in the English Premier League as at December 2016 with 12 strikes in 96 minutes. That impressive CV could be playing out for him in the Nigerian set up and having more minutes against Zambians could help in enhancing that.

Iheanacho could simply hurt the Zambians with his goals appetite for club and country.

Honestly... I don't understand Chelsea sometimes. If a player can succeed at Chelsea, surely he is class. But again, you just listed a good number of Chelsea "flops" who have either gone on to succeed or are on the road to succeeding and proving their class...

Bertarad Traore is doing great at Lyon after a season at Ajax on loan. His move to Lyon is permanent.

Take a look at Lukaku now... he have had a tedious journey but he had made it to the very top now and can only get better. From Westbrom to Everton and now at age 24 going on 25.. he is at England's biggest and most famous Clubside, Man Utd.

Look at KDB... wow! he is just wow... amazing how he was never shown patience at Chelsea.

Even Sturbridge have done good at Liverpool but for injuries, he would have done much much more.

It is just that Sir. Chelsea is something else. If a player can go there and succeed... that player must be very good. Lol... I know Sir Forgiveness will smile at this very much because he is a Chelsea fan himself. But na true I talk shaa.... wink

poshemmanuel:

At Chelsea, we had fantastic talent like Daniel sturridge, Kevin De Bruyne, lukaku, Bertrand Traore, etc..They needed to be given a chance and they never were. The pressure is so big.

I hope Kayode is not treated same way. And I really hope he gets going at Girona. He is beginning to see games. He even started their last game after coming in aa a sub for the previous games prior to then.

Kayode is a wonderful talent and I hope he uses this time at Girona well. Best player in the whole of Austria last season and top scorer, now that is someone I expect much from. Hopefully he comes good in LA Liga and makes a fine case for himself so that whether or not Pep takes him in, his value will still not be lost on other teams.

Wishing Olanrewayu "Larry" Kayode the best. smiley

Nigeria international Emmanuel Daniel has returned to Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit Orlando Pirates .

The goalkeeper was believed to have parted ways with the Soweto giants after Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic stated that he was no longer training the with club last month.

Micho had replaced Swedish trainer Kjell Jonevret as Pirates head coach prior to the current 2017/18 campaign.

Daniel has since resumed training with the Houghton-based outfit as he looks to impress Sredojevic and his technical team.

The 24-year-old started in goal for the Buccaneers in a Multichoice Diski Challenge (MDC) match against Bloemfontein Celtic at the Rand Stadium in Johannesburg last weekend.

The former Nigeria Under-23 shot-stopper played the entire match as the Bucs suffered a 2-1 defeat to Phunya Selel Sele in a PSL reserve league encounter.

Daniel is yet to make his competitive debut for the Pirates first team since joining the the club from Nigerian side Enugu Rangers midway through last season.

He is facing stiff competition from Wayne Sandilands, Siyabonga Mpontshane and Jackson Mabokgwane in the Bucs goalkeeping department.

Bafana Bafana international Sandilands is the current Pirates first-choice keeper.

Hope the babies on this thread sheath their swords, it's always better to ignore when you don't want to drag yourself down.

I almost replied Pietrico earlier today when he quoted me, but I realised it was better I ignored, cuz I just didn't need to drag it.

You should learn to not drag sometimes, so much pettiness

I know of young prolific talents flopping. I know of others who flopped and made the right decisions to bounce back. Flopping is not the problem or facing challenges but bouncing back. From my study, one of the main determinants of players Flopping is losing the drive to work hard and not making the right decisions.

So as long as the player is working hard, improving, adapting and ready to start making the right decisions, he will excel. So being on the bench is not the determinant but the players decisions and attitude. That is why I say patience. Also, competition is a blessing. It also keeps the player on his toes.

I agree with you wholeheartedly.

The difference between succes and failure is how you approach setbacks. Failure or a setback can be the prelude to great success. Falling down is not the problem it's how you get up.

DILIGENCE not skill and talent will see you through.

There is a Proverb that seems paradoxical which is Provided.12:27.

The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting,
But diligence is man’s precious possession.

When you consider how long it may take a hunter to get one Animal then after all that toil, in the end he does not eat what he captured it seems incomprehensible . Then the Bible describes it as Laziness but that's not just a literal meaning. But it's food for thought for the wise, I'll not go further.

he's right on that though, if you must attack someone, you should keep people's parents out of it.

It is shameful that nobody thought to regard that, I have reported both comments where he attacked someone's parents, which is what the supposed adults here should have done, but no, you guys just love to watch throw downs

I hope all the likers of comments feel happy. This thread is annoying sometimes

thank you. All these random non-Nigerian names flying around

Abeg, only Nigerian players ought to be discussed here. Both diasporan ones and local, basically anyone who has a Nigerian parent, even the likes of Dele

I neversaid you attacked his mother, i was generally referring to any attacks on parents and Piet crossed that line

And yes, thesupernerd, you are rude. You need to tone it down the way you go at people sometimes. I read your comments at times and I wonder if that's you or me...cuz, I know I go at people hard, but that's not you.

Supernerd provoked the insults and Pietrico lost his cool (despite claiming he wouldn't), Pietrico went on to attack someone's mama unnecessarily. Even me, no matter how vile I get, I keep people's mama out of my attacks.

The appropriate thing us for both of them to be banned for causing such trouble here. Semid4lyfe, if you are around, please go through TheSupernerd and Pietrico's posts. They're stinking up this thread

Don't forget Lukaku's story.
Even Pep knows the player is special. He only saved Nacho for the rainy day.

We're still here aren't we?

Pep won't activate Nacho's buy back clause.

I really don't bother much about Leicester style of play, he should adapt to it, that's where he's found himself at the moment.

Wishing Olanrewayu "Larry" Kayode the best. smiley

Left to me i'd like him to remain at La Liga instead of rushing to the Premier League where he'd be below the pecking order.

I have no doubts about his talents, there's no stopping him when he starts scoring.
