Gbam. We could have also hve used this opportuny to see young cats in the full back positions and defense generally. Goalkeeping too. Why Ezenwa again? I won't even mind NNL players lol.

This is what i do not understand.. Why are we packing old men to a tournament of this nature? Wafu cup is a small tournament.. Why not use it as an avenue to expose younger players? Rabiu Ali is almost 40. Many of these guys have no national team future.

I wonder how many Nigerians go to Ghana threads. Is there even a Ghana forum? I've never cared to check. People suffering from low self esteem.

I'm happy for Ghana sha. After missing out on CHAN and most likely the world cup, At least, they've won a trophy after so many years of agony and gnashing of teeth. It is only what they can win, Other more important trophies are out of their reach for now. Congratulations to the local champions.

Ezenwa busted.
Not his fault man,d last four could'nt cope when Adeleye got injured,d midfield oh my God thrash,in such situations what do u expect from average Ezenwa.

Quite agreed with u now that Ghana relaxed in their last game against Nigeria,it was obvious.

I have nothing against northerners because they are really cool but I am yet to see a northerner that can man a midfield satisfactorily....Maybe on the wings but definitely not in the middle. Playing in the middle requires some special characteristics that are not common in a northern footballer. I could be wrong but I am basing this view on sheer observation.

I have read some comments so far and i must say,we forgot many things during the match. Only their 1st goal was legit. The freekick that led to the penalty 4 the 2nd goal is pure rubbish. Their 3rd goal is not anywhere near a penalty and their 4th goal should not have stood because Ezenwa already have the ball. Kudos to the eagles, they tried wella and pls somebody should tell Salisu not to dare bring that gabreal to CHAN o. #soareagles
Gabriel okechukwu is very good

its not about we could or we couldn't,

the questions, is is the coach Davy enuf, does he have a philosophy of " the young shall grow ", is he daring enuf

having spent years in the local league coaching, YUSUFU, had no phiw, on whatsoever, for him to bring those players to WAFU show something more than ignorance

Ezenwa and Akpeyi...who is better?
Better between d duo, nothing to say coz both are very averaged.I don't even know whom to pick.Hope we resolves this goalkeeping crisis before World Cup.

I watched Nigeria match against Guinea in this just concluded wafu cup and i discovered a lot of things regarding our local coaches and now agreed with a lot who always castigate them,in that match it was too obvious that Dele Ajiboye is better than Ezenwa meaning we might have better keepers better than d duo.

Look at d outfield players, for God sake old Rabiu Ali anchor Nigeria midfield, not condemning d guy but something is fishing,d same thing Aremu, this two guys find it so difficult to make passes and it was hell for Okpotu.

Initially i rate Eze highly but injury to Adeleye exposed him, still has a lot to learn,it was obvious that Adeleye do most of d dirty jobs in d defence and moment he left d pitch, our defence was exposed.

Nothing to say on Okoro and Akas, goldfish 80 just need to tell me why he rated Okoro highly.I watched d guy keenly and i w say he had good games in group stage but Benin,Ghana match showed that he lacks it.

Generally, this team should not be d best from local leagues and with what i see so far Salisu Yusuf and co need to put sentiments apart and give us d best,CHAN is around and this team not a CHAN team.

I am not surprised by the way Ghana whooped this spineless home based eagles like little kids. I said it here after the first game with Siera Leone that this team is very poor. Salisu is a crappy coach and he chosed a confused Rabiu Ali to anchor our midfield.

Friday John shouldn't have worn the super eagles jersey...Dude has nothing to offer.

Okpotu is a typical physical Nigerian league player. Youth football development is our only hope. Most of these league players started playing from the street and never learn the rudiments of the game. Few can't trap a ball under tension and have no technique. Look at the Benin republic,Siera Leone and Ghana and you can see the quality in their play and individual skills.
U are right.

The issue is not approach but creation of a continous relationship with potential players prior to being approached.

The family background and structure of some of our players requires a strategic approach over the long term.

Now if I was given the official credence to make a strategic approach to Nigerian origin players recruitment to the SE. It would not be problematic in the first instance there would be a POSITIVE LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP well in place, such they would be declaring for Nigeria without overtures.

Unfortunately I am not and I am not interested in any form of Egunje or payback whatsoever.

I totally concur to your emphatic submittions.

The administrators are only concern when chop I chop is involved. grin

For instance Just look at the Sunday Eze that they said deserves a call up. Playing kung-fu in the 18yards box.
Truly Eze was exposed today which is normal in football just like our defenders were exposed against South Africa.I remeber Omeruo do d same kung-fu against Zambia.

I think one of the problems with local players is that they are poorly coached from the start. That is why even the talented ones are exposed or have to relearn when they go abroad.
