not to dispute your claim about his age but Iheanacho is still 5'11, 184cm actually. I mean you know wetin be 6'2?!shocked Ronaldo is 6 and half, goalkeepers are 6'2, Iheanacho is 5'11 at best. How tall is Iwobi?

Now before the babylonians come for my head.... I hereby declare that I believe totally that Iheanacho is not more than 23, I have never believed such rumours so please disregard anybody that thinks otherwise grin

The Taye Taiwo story was a false rumor.

As regards Kelechi, He passed an MRI test which places his age at +/- 2 years with a 99% probability. Meaning he can't be more than 23. This is based on scientific evaluation.

Besides, Kelechi played for Nigeria under 13 and 15. This is Kelechi's picture in 2010.

www.nairaland.com/attachments/3798809_fbimg1464800873731_jpeg7dd0d95308e031f721938446e90e1e82

Besides, I have it on fairly reliable authority that Kelechi finished secondary school 2 years before under 17. Average age of finishing secondary school is 15-18 which puts him in the age -grade.

all those guys should come explain how pic is close to 20rs,
even though the colour of a ripped orange is yellow, some people can still claim and maintained that is black when they r so determined lie.
there is nothing u can do to those kind of people. even Kelechi's mother comes out say his real age, some will still not believe.

O boy, during our time of primary schools enrollment your left hand must touch your right ear o. Only well nourished big size 6 years olds could do that. I was lucky to do it at 6 but a good number of my class mates were 7 & 8 years olds. That was primary one o. I spent 6 solid years (not the mago mago 5 years they spend now). I finished primary school at 12+ and enrolled in Class one (later became JSS1) at almost 13. Finally na 18 years me finish secondary school and a good number of my class mates were 19, 20. Very few were 17. Only one girl in the whole graduating SS3 was 16.

I recall the 1985 Golden Eaglets were picked from the national Principals cup. Secondary schools ended at Class 5 then. So the boys would have been mostly 17 or 18 and less.
Good old days primary school, not safari aje butter primary school.

Principal Cup produced 1985 Golden Eaglet, one of my area brother Dele Abubakar made d team.I remember Nduka Ugbade made d team direct from st Finbarrs,so sometimes am always wondering why we always tagged our boys as over aged.

It was after Kodak U17 WC in 1985 that Kwara State hosted youth sports festival, most of these players represented their various states,Victor Igbinoba(Bendel)now Edo,Nduka Ugbade(Lagos)Fatal Atere(Lagos)Bella Momoh(Edo)Dele Abubakar(Kwara)

It must be noted that majority of 1987 U17 were products of Kwara sport festival, player like Dimeji Lawal,Bawa Abdullahi, Oladuni Oyekale,Peter Ogaba Christopher Nwosu.

The final of d sport festival was a thriller match between Bendel and Anambra with Victor Igbinoba scoring d goal

Pure secondary school boys then,Nigeria just need to go back to grassroots sports development.

Why are you answering him? He's a very funny dude. I doubt he's serious with this 27 to 29 yrs brouhaha. But in a serious note, anyone that claims a player is above agr with ridiculous statements such as I know him, I know his older brother, or he grew up in my area, just kindly leave a pics of you and that player. It's easy for anyone to say they know a player and all of his upbringing, whereas they may not even know what state such player either hails from or grew up at. I was pained on Twitter today when some Nigerians on Spanish laliga twitter page were bashing Uzoho after they acknowledged him for being the youngest goalie. If it was foreigners, I for understand, but na Naija peeps de mess d guy up pass. Smh

Are you serious!? This is ridiculous. Na wa ooooooo.

God bless you my brother. You remember vividly. The 1985 Baby Eagles(former name for golden eaglets) were picked from secondary schools. I used to pass in front of Taiwo Enegua's house when going to school those days. He was still a boy years after playing for the Baby eagle.

Many of those boys didn't really play professional football. A good number attended higher institutions and forgot about football with the sole achievement of winning the first ever U17 WC.

moreover who cares about those 10 kids who may likely give us Tammy treatment...

I never under rated Tega just didn't expect him to be this good so soon.

Solanke yes but was proved wrong.

Bobby I am saying too much I see very very regular training and in games predominantly U23 and I just haven't seen anything exceptional to warrant an immediate call to the Eagles.

In my opinion Seyi Ojo is better, I would rate Fred Onyedinma above him as well. But a lot of the time football is about that big word, OPPORTUNITY and what you do with it.

KC will do well this season. First sign, Shakespeare OUT

Not exactly.

New coach but which coach it could literally be out of the frying pan into the fire.

What if they get Sam Allardyce, or someone similar then it could be all over for KC.

The issue is not Shakespeare but the inability of KC to adapt very quickly. All good dancers change thier step once the music changes, KC has not been able to change his step to a new tune.

Yea most of them went to United States, Canada on scholarships to further their education, players like Waidi Akanni,Taju Dish,Dehinde Akinlotan,Bawa Abdullahi, Niyi Aderinoku(obodo)now a multi millionaire, Austin IgbinabairoJonathan Akpoborie,Okechuckwu OfojeAndrew Uwe was in OAU playing for Leventis United and 1985 U20.

I remember Jonathan Akpoborie was part of 85 U17 he came to sport festival too, after that he went Boston university in d states on scholarship and moved from Boston after graduation to Germany, d samething Mike Emenalo after graduating from one of d university in USA,he went to Belgium and started pro career.

Honestly then it was football and education,I always give respect to Akpoborie and Emenalo coz is not easy leaving football for education and still come back to that football as a professional at d top level.

Dt leceister city style will b too hard for iheanacho to adapt, but if dey can get a coach who can play d ball on d ground, he will gel immediately, but with dis present style,IHEANACHO can only score thru penalty or deflection., a messi would even find it hard adapting quick to Leicester style

Good memories.

A good number were on scholarships something our yeye government cannot do now.

Most could not really combine schooling with Football which is why we didn't get to hear about them again.

I so much love that generation of Eaglets and them sabi tap soccer like anything. That Nigeria's second goal against Germany in the final scored by Victor Igbinoba is still playing in my head even now 32years later.

Arjen Robben, Danny Alves, Christiano Ronaldo, Jermain Defoe, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Van Perspective, etc, etc these are some of the best players in the world. Would you now call them Veterans, Danny Alves is considered the best RB in the World. According to you he should be on the dust heap as a veteran.

Most of the players mentioned above are either Older than Obagoal a goal or in his age range.

you know the truth but you don't want to accept it.

Ok like you pointed out, the sorry lot we have now cannot lead our attack in Russia, look left right and center we don't have anyother option. Tammy isn't coming, it is not written in any prophetic hall that Dessers will be a hit, even if he is a hit we still need to come to the world cup with 3-4 out and out strikers, so why not accept the tested and trusted guys? I will take the Liga2 ahead of the bottom half of the Belgian League, infact I can argue, after watching most of their games, tha Lugo will hold their own against Gent, so Ike Uche is not in a backwater league. Paulinho is still the corner stone of Brazil's brilliant world cup qualifying campaign...from the Chinese League!!! So much for the Chinese league being on par with the Championship

Seconded and upheld 100%

Ibrahimovic, Jermain Defoe, Arjen Robben, Maschereno, etc, etc.

I still think thar Obagoal can compete possible better all of our current strikers. He is the most consistent Nigerian striker over the past 10 years.

He is not a one season wonder.
