Winter start dates might be changed for various Ontario colleges due to the ongoing strike. Extra weeks for me to get the CIC foil.

Congrats Nzo1, Please how did u order for your GCMS NOTE?
Nzo1:
Greetings Bosses, you guys are doing a terrific job here. I was a silent follower on this thread for long but I reached out to guys here when my first TRV application was refused back in July. My second application has just been approved. We Bless God!

Here's my timeline:

M.Eng (Electrical Engineering, MUN)

1st Application: May 5th, 2017 (Paper route), linked it online.
Refused: July 7th, 2017 (Insufficient Funds for tuition fees, Purpose of Visit, & Travel History)
Ordered GCMS Notes immediately and it arrived on August 9th, 2017. VO said i was being sponsored by a third party (my cousin), limited evidence of relationship on file, limited travel history and weak evidence of personal financial establishment.

Meanwhile, it was a fully funded admission, i had to stress that in my second application while also tackling the above reasons.

Second Application: August 28th, 2017 (Paper route), linked it online.
Medical passed like three weeks later (same upfront medical i used for the first application)
Application updated November 14th, 2017. Approved (I checked my profile the night before (13th) and review of eligibility had not started)

Special shout out to @Thesoj; As soon as i got my admission in March 2017, one of my guys in Canada advised me to read all your posts from the beginning and i did, very enlightening. Thanks Boss.

Very big thank you to @Maziude 1 of Ottawa who reviewed my LoE and pointed out areas where i sounded desperate, Lol. Thanks Boss!

Special thanks to @Austinpee4, @Mcobex & @Jnyuwa02 for their inputs and advice on how to tackle my refusal reasons. I'm grateful.

I believe my Scholarship was overlooked in the review of my first application because of the way i filled the financial section of my first application form but @Osemigho's post on that subject ensured that i didn't make the same mistake twice. Thank you bro!

I'm happy to answer any questions and to help anybody in need of some guidance.

Cheers Bosses.

I need more explanation on

am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.

Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the limited employment prospects in your country of residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your current employment situation.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.
Sorry about the delay don't give up, When did you apply?

Did CIC just employ more VOs or has the rate of applications reduced? The way people are getting approved and refused very fast nowadays eeh.
Most applications nowadays take less than two months, or are they rounding up to go home for Christmas.

Anyway, may it continue that way and may TRV fall on all of us that are Seekers of TRV

I think they are just working to meet those resuming January and have left others to languish. How else do you explain applications that have been pending since April and Abiodunne who has waited almost a year now. Won't frantically hiring and working on application mean those that came first are decided quickly? CIC is working counterclockwise.

Congrats for your admission, you will have to provide additional form of financial support to show that you are financially OK and able to carter for your study without the Research Assistant grant which maybe seen as a job offer, so you don't get refused based on not able to finance your study without working in Canada excuse.

You can get an approval before your resumption date, it seems there are quite few number of application that is been processed at the moment because the rate of approval/denial right now is fast.

My advice, get your police report, and submit with your application, don't make them ask for it.

Other advice, cross every T's and dot every I's , don't give the VO any reason to doubt your intentions... Good luck, Ire o...

Thanks for your kind response. I will do as instructed. God bless.

Hello all,
I submitted my application 9th August. I sent reminded to ACCRA IMMIGRATION in between.however, no update on my application.
I wasn’t bothered before....until I saw people’s application having a decision between 2-4 weeks.
Any likely guess if what’s happening?

I applied from Poland.

I almost gave up about studying in Canada because I had stories about challenges applying outside Nigeria but someone in this forum encouraged me, even when I find it difficult to provide a good SOA. All I provided was my retired dad's statement with just 500k. Though the PhD is funded but just approximately 17CAD per year.
To those still awaiting approval never give up, I would also help with prayers am also available to help review SOP, this would reduce the burden placed on the gurus in the thread.

Hello bro,

I will need your attention . I had masters in Information Technology with CGPA of 4.55 and considering University of Saskatchewan for PhD in Computer Science. Presently am in China. I will be glad to relate with you.

Hey Guys my visa has been approved. It’s been God. I got delayed in August for insufficient funds and when I ordered my gcms note, it said lump sum deposit occurred. I also added a detailed sponsorship letter and a letter of explanation to show changes made to my application.

I was just contacted today by CIC today to check my profile that it has been updated. I checked and it's saying my additional documents are being reviewed (it didn't say this yesterday when I saw my eligibility status).
The eligibility status still says I don't meet requirement.
Final decision is still blank.
I replied the flight school with the application status page and embassy email address earlier this morning.

Sir/Ma,
You keep repeating this question " HOW DO I ORDER MY GCMS NOTE". This question has been answered countless times on this thread and on previous thread's too. I must tell you that the information you seek has already being shortlisted by the Admin of this forum on PAGE 0.

We have been stressing on this issue.
Please Newbies! kindly do yourselves good by going through the previous thread. You can possibly start from Page 0 of this thread, read through, come back and ask questions if you encounter any difficulty that needs clarification.

If you keep repeating this question over and over again nobody will pay attention to it.

Hello Fam,
Is it possible for me to still submit my application for visa on Tuesday when school resumes in January ? Or you will advise me to defer to a new term(April). So that I can include the deferred form with the old acceptance letter for my visa application. Please i look forward to receiving replies soon. Thank you.

Yureyes:

Alright thanks. Well, my degree is unclassified. while in school, I only cared about passing my courses because i knew there won't be a 2.1 or 1st class on my certificate or transcript. so my grades are mostly Cs and Bs. I never even bothered myself with GPA until recently when I began to search for a school for my post graduate. I calculated it myself and it was 3.50 on the dot but public health courses are so competitive and sometimes the higher the GPA, the higher your chances.. I am looking for a less competitive school and one that accepts 2.2 so I can stand a good chance of gaining admission.
Now I have to hope my 2 years of experience working as a doctor will boost my chances since I can't find a school that's not so competitive. Thanks for your response.

Hey Doc,

I understand the struggle. Trying to survive medical school sometimes leaves no room for GPA maintenance. More so , clinical practice pathway has little or no use of CPGA.

For your current pursuit, here's what to do:

1) Check out University of Saskatchewan - Most programs require 70% in last two years. Calculate your Part 5 & Part 6 GPA. Convert to Canadian's 4 grade point and compare the percentages

2) Check if McMaster University offers MPH. It's an expensive school but they mostly only consider your final year. If your final year GP is okay, you'll most likely get admitted. Contact the grad coordinator of your intended program and get him/her to assess your Transcript to see if you're eligible or not, so as not to waste your application fee.

If all of the above fails, switch to Plan B

Plan B - Consider the Express Entry route. In this case, your two years work experience is a huge plus. Check your eligibility, write IELTS, evaluate your degree with MCC and get into the pool fast.

Perks:

1) You get your Permanent Residency
2) Even if you eventually want to go for your Masters, you pay way cheaper tuition as a PR not International students fee
3) Timeline from start to finish takes about 4-6 months. About same time or more to get a TRV

Remember everyone going through the study route will still do the EE if they wish to work and live permanently in Canada.

Cheers
