That might imply many things but it certainly doesn't imply a threat to bolt if he isn't in the World Cup squad. The dude has been in and out of the team since he switched his allegiance but he still hasn't bolted yet. The only thing that may make him switch, assuming we don't cap him by then, is if Rohr's contract isn't renewed after World Cup.

What does this imply to you?

Yorubas would say oya mi lenu. Meaning the thing surprise me. Guy just projected his own fears and suspicion about the young man, saw a report and latched on it. He's stuck stubbornly to that viewpoint. I don explain tire. At the end we are all entitled to our opinions.

Good idea. That would definitely help our preparations much better than travelling to the ends of the world just to play an African minnow.

Two grade A quality games are in the offing. Once the draws are concluded then the friendlies would be announced.

Listen, Holland missed out on the World Cup because they underachieved and not because they didn't have talent. Hence, I don't see Holland capping Ebuehi anytime soon. He's well down the pecking order and Holland is not England.

O pari

MetalJigsaw:
Let him miss the WC without being officially capped in a competitive game and Holland calls on him, Then you'll understand.

I deserve a place in Rohr’s World Cup team –Ebuehi

Dutch-born Ado Den Haag right-back Tyronne Ebuehi believes his display during the Argentina friendly would convince Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr that he is worthy of joining his team to the World Cup.

The 21-year-old, who made his international debut in a 3-0 friendly win over Togo on June after switching his allegiance from Holland to Nigeria, was fielded in the 4-2 defeat of Argentina in a friendly affair in Russia a week ago.

Ebuehi came on as a 46th minute substitute and stamped his authority on the match within moments of his introduction by nullifying the threat of Paris Saint-Germain star Angel Di Maria.

The Haarlem-born defender expressed his delight at having the opportunity of playing against one of the best players in the world.

“I played against Angel Di Maria, a great player of course, and I cannot quite realise that I can play against him,’’ Ebuehi was quoted by voetbalprimeur.nl as saying at the weekend.

“Defensively, I stood my ground, and offensively I tried to do as much as possible, and it all went well, I think.”

Now, the player, who has a Nigerian father and a Dutch mother, says having proved his class in the clash against the star-studded Argentine side, he should be considered for a spot in Rohr’s World Cup squad.

“All of a sudden you play against world stars, normally you see them on TV or you play them with FIFA on the computer,” Ebuehi was quoted by Dutch outlet NOS as saying on Monday.

He believes his trademark speedy runs down the right flank, which have helped him cement a regular starting spot at ADO Den Haag, would help the Eagles in Russia.

“I think it (playing against Argentina) went well, I have a lot of speed and I try to get a lot of the ball,” Ebuehi told NOS.

“I think I left a good impression, it would be nice, that I play at the World Cup next year.”
RipplesNigeria… without borders, without fears

I wonder if hatred will abound towards Ebuehi once dey know I am among the first person to put him on the radar. grin

I saw how many told me he is not good enough or he is not SE material. The rest is history. grin

Let me use this media to inform the audience here that out of the 4 players that emerged in the Eredivise then , I only singled out Ehizibue and Ebuehi.

Dis two seems to be from two different tribes.

I be from 4 tribes? shocked grin

And its not like Onazi is a bad player just that players that cant play simple passes bores the hell out of me. Ogu has no vision but he can play simple clean passes.
True, Ogu keeps things simple, doesn't get out of position easily and thereby brings out the best in Ndidi.
Onazi has his strength though ....His high work rate and good/fast reading of the game.
Ogu is always late to the challenge sometimes while Onazi could be easily caught out of position, both must work on their weaknesses, but l rate them higher than Agu for now(especially based on what I've seen him play so far).

You make good contributions but you just need to be more careful of your environment. I am proudly Yoruba (though I didn't choose to be one), the very thing that always bring people to this thread is the fact that we can share out opinions without getting into a tug of war like the politics thread. Let's try to avoid the use of words like marginalization, nepotism and any other word with "tribe" as the base word. The player I look forward to seeing in the NT is still Joel Obi.

God bless Nigeria

it will b massive if we can have Akpogana in our ranks, hopefully Roahr is able to convince him, even if is after WC.
he now plays as a CB,but started as a right back ,he is a ball playing defender based on the review of his last weekend game that also has Rohr in attendance to further have closer look at him,and possibly convince him to switch allegiance, and also adds leadership qualities to his credits,
just like Balogun,i believe he will come good and blend in seamlessly due to his versatility.
this is the type of player we should b clamouring for not all these English born average players, and those players that has long pass their primes.

Yes the best should be given chance but when it come to sports pls give it to south east and south south and if you see any south west or northerners in sports they are extremely good.

It's simple northerners don't give their ward very access to sports though the north central still allowed their kids to do sports but can't be compared to full blessing Igbo or South South man w give his children.

Am a Yoruba man and i know how Yorubas take sports, they want you to be in school most Yoruba guys you see in sports are stubborn types, very few see the support of their parents.

My growing up as a boy who love football and very talented was difficult cos my Dad believe so much in education, our house was just a minute to the Stadium. I wake up to see stadium main bowl every morning.but dodge to go to stadium despite my talent.

My mates who have the opportunity of going to the stadium were well developed after secondary school, one even make it to Japan 93 squad in 1992 as secondary school boy, some played in the local league, some played professional football, at least 5 played as a full fledged national team player, one played in EPL while one played as FB for an European country at 2002 WC.Most of these guys are Igbo boys.

After my sec sch i have little freedom in the university but i w not deceive you too late cos my peers in football ahead in term of fitness and confidence,I just played normal University games nothing more,my mind was on education not football.

What am try to say is that the Igbo and Niger deltan we always have an edge over other tribes. They received early support from their parents than any other tribes and there is no way you can meet up with them, that's just the fact.

I can totally relate, I grew up in Lagos.

I played street football back then, there was this very talented boy "Beneti" he was our best attacking player then, always a delight to watch.

Times without numbers, his father would come to the field, dragging him by the ears, "Iwo oloriburuku yi, se ti fo abo? E tie ti se assignment e" accompanied with slaps and beating all over.

When next we have a match, na him house we go see us, forcing him to disobey his father. Wherever he's now.

After reading a lot of pages here and also a long and hard thought. I have come to the conclusion that these players should be the ones to go t the world cup.
Goal Keepers
Vincent Enyeama
Dele Aiyenugba
Dele Alampasu
Defenders
Ola Aina
Seyi Ojo
Dominic Iorfa
Efe Ambrose
Thiago Ilori
Mosis Odubanjo
Midfield
Hope Akpan
Jude Aneke
Raheem Lawal
Abdul Ajagun
Mikel Obi
Joel Obi
Josh Onomah
Ryan Sanusi
Attackers
Obafemi Martins
Ike Uche
Fred Onyedinma
Kayode
Sone Aluko and
Adegbenro

Standby
Ovie Ejaria
Chuba Akpom

If we can present this guys who are the best leagues imagine what we will achieve. There's still time to get them to blend together, right now these are the best we have as we can only take 23 players to the world cup.

The staring eleven should look like this
Enyeama
Ola Aina Thiago Ilori Efe Ambrose Sheyi Ojo
Abdul Ajagun Josh Onomah Raheem Lawal
Kayode Martins Ik Uche

Mikel will be coming in as an impact sub and that would really tilt the games in our favor. Also there is Jude Aneke, Adegbenro and Joel Obi too who can come in from the bench.

I had to unfortunately drop Onazi, Ndidi and even Victor Mosis, even though they are very good players who the stats for Aneke, Raheem Lawal, Abdul Ajagun and Onoha are extremely difficult to ignore. You need to see how Kayode won the best player in Austria and how great a game Fred Onyedima had against Man City that's why I had to drop Victor Mosis.
Go Nigeria!!!!!!!!!

remove Mikel from your list and add Ajagun and we good to go,at least semi final

Don't you think he's going ahead of himself by claiming h deserves to be in the WC after just 45 mins, even Mikel wouldn't make such a statement
Par adventure he fails to make the squad what would be said of Rohr.

The coach is in the right position to determine who and who deserves to be in Russia.
He didn't say he DESERVES to be in the world cup, rather he said...IT WOULD BE NICE if l go to the world cup.

Mujtahida you belong to a class here so don't join all these roforofo fight, leave them to sort their issues out.

Pls let's talk football, anybody that want 11 Yorubas or 11 Igbos in the XI should go ahead, there is no short cut in football cos players were always expose.

I can tell you we have some bleeping tribal guys here but you just need maturity to get along. If you have third eyes you w know them, they hide it but they are real sectional.

I hope this thread w not be turned to political thread were you hear zombie, wailers, afonja,Igbos. This is football thread and we are all here for a purpose, the growth of super eagles.

Let me tell you basic fact a TRIBAL man we always identify tribalism, so if they like they should keep on mentioning Kunle,Gbenga,Abiodun, Bola etc or Ebere,Chukwu,Chidi, Chukwudi etc the best w always play for eagles.

Icon4s said he has learnt to ignore comments that w not yield any result than for one to make a statement out of annoyance that one w be regretting later.

Petrobas was force to make a statement you HATE IGBO cos he cannot ignored, better for us to learn how to ignore and move on.

Let me tell you basic fact about me if i quote you and I see that you are not the type i don't quote again. If am wrong i apologize immediately, am not here to win trophy but to share ideas and learn.

Forgiveness is free to say anything as far he didn't disobey the rules of the thread, the best if you cannot have healthy arguments with him you move on.Let him name any player it's his opinion he can't force them on Rohr and is free to criticise him, nobody business.

Remember have come here several time to analyze factors that can be responsible for players invitations and you make your own contribution, so what is big deal in what Forgiveness is saying regards player invitation.

I have some monikers i take delight in having discussion with regularly, some very rear, some i don't quote cos it w end in insult. If i quote and i noticed our discussion is losing basic respect i cut off i can even say am sorry or OK just to end it.

Mujtahida,Jobie, tbaba1013,Junnyake,four of you belong to a class here if you don't know and you guys are too big for this distraction cos we source a lot from you.

Sir, can you pls expantiate on your last paragraph? grin

I love facts. grin

You are only an Icon in your village football history hence the limited knowledge of Nigeria football holistically. No wonder you always only give history about your kind while you're ignorant about others because na my brother sabi pass syndrome has beclouded your sense of reasoning.

This is the same fellow that accused Festus Onigbide of nepotism and tribalism because he took Opabumi to the WC in 2002 and even made us believed he parked the whole team with his tribe men.

We know he must have written articles on newspapers, blogs and even given presentations on TV to prove his point without any resistance as the constitution granted him freedom but here we are, he suddenly became an advocate of those who are guilty of the same crime and a persecutor against those whom he perceives as ego busters to na we sabi ball pass. grin

Ajagun is there already now. Infact he will be a regular starter. If we remove Mikel it will become obvious that Nigeria really has plans for this world cup, you know there has to be some element of surprise at least. Plus since Mikel is the captain and he worked hard for the qualification, it will me unfair to completely drop him. Ejaria might actually be a better fit or maybe we try to convert Jordan Ibe to an AMF sef. Mikel's inclusion will be like that of Adepoju to the 2002 world cup, you know to encourage the younger ones in the team.
