But then, Pep has a style he likes to play. In fact, that is why he is sought after - his style and success. So he may not have won anything with that squad, true, but he would have signed players that fit his philosophy and Chelsea would have been Man City of this season.

Yes Conte will win but top spot is not guaranteed, neither is battering his title contenders along the way nor establishing this gap. This is mid December and the title is almost won.

You can't compare the manner in which Chelsea won the league last season to how Pep is edging closer to it this season, there is a big difference

The transfer world right now is crazy. Players are being overpriced. If United tried being stingy, PSG will pay that amount and get him. We have to live with the rich teams tag. Otamendi whose praise was sang last season came costly and also just average. So as long as big teams are involved, the players will likely come with a heavy price tag.

No doubt he has a good vision and the nack for scoring the unspectacular but his technique under pressure and ability to create space for himself in crowded area are awful. Also, his playmaking ability is average at best. His best position would always be on the wing but then his average pace and dribbling skill makes him a liability against tight defence.
I think he's more suited to a counter attacking setup where he would be afforded the space to operate.

Luiz > Otamendi. Forget say Luiz na otondo, he's MARGINALLY better than Otamendi this season. There's nothing commendable about Otamendi this season - not one!!
Fernadinho is equal to Motta but not greater. What Motta lacks from Fernandinho (Strength), he makes it up with creativity and skills.
Silva is better than Moura but for this season I disagree. He's been inundated with injuries that he's no longer the player he once was.

PSG is better than City THIS SEASON, both in form and otherwise. PSG defense of Silva, Luiz, Marquinhos, Maxwell and Aurier are better than City's. The only dependable City defender to me is Kompany. Dimechelis, Mangala fish and the rest are below average this season. PSG is jinxed mentally.

Everyone is guaranteed trophies at one point or the other, even Wenger no matter how bad he is unless you're a Kloop. The difference is how these trophies are won and the legacy left behind.
