Returned a call I actually missed yesterday. Caller claimed to be working with dpr, and inquired why I have not updated my profile till now. I know I have updated my profile severally.

He advised I did so again asap

Pls be careful o. Might be a scam. People might have access to the attendance written on interview day and might wanna play a fast one. Just my observation though.

I think it wasn't a scam. The caller did not demand anything from him. Just asked him to update his profile. My thought though

Why are you people doubting DPR are calling for profile update? It could be they are sorting the appointment letters. Think positively. But when the caller start asking for money or strange questions, that's when you know he's a scammer. Fingers crossed ✌

I also got the call talking about my profile update not reflecting at their end. I told him that at the interview they seemed to have every info on me, so why another silly update (didn't exactly use "silly" on phone). He just said I should endeavour to do so as soon as possible.

I said ok, but also told him that after the interview I got a message to update portal profile (with: ignore if you've been interviewed or something like that). I made it clear to him that it appears their info/data management is somehow lousy. He jokingly responded, implying maybe if I become hired we could come to change things.

I have done that anyway. By Tuesday I'll call back so they can check if it reflected.

It is not scam. it's about updating into a DPR portal that many of us log into everyday. They didn't demand I send anything to any e-mail address, neither did he request payments or favour.

Good. Cos 2 days after I wrote my test in Lagos, a random number just called me and was telling me he works in DPR and he just saw my profile. He went on to say he can help provided I pay 300k. I immediately call him off, he end the call.
I’m just saying we should be careful, that’s all

I am skeptical about this. Just be careful. DPR would have sent you a text or e-mail as they have always done.

I pray that it is positive and that shows they are working towards calling people soon.

I am a partial EH. Thanks but I normally should be worried why my profile wouldn't come up for them. We're too few that got that to be a trend. There are some sure candidates here and some insiders that will tell when "celebration" time comes.

Pls some are sending me PM. I wouldn't be responding. I've not made any comments on this recruitment thread before. I was just monkeying around when I applied, and never thought it'll be anything serious up to this stage.
My interview was just normal, I think I got all my questions correctly and surely I knew some more than the panel but was a bit proud (current affairs have been my strong point since primary school). I was comfortable with the technical aspects and mentioned a few names in DPR that we had correspondences with in my previous work place before I was dropped mid last year. I was into drilling and well planning, they knew the place I worked and I named wells for them (usually, DPR gets well plans, anti-collision analysis and other things before approving new wells to be drilled).

At the end, I hammered them 2 questions that they couldn't answer. first was on career development at DPR while the second was a direct attack question and indictment on them, that was motivated by the fuel scarcity which had started building up at the time of my interview. The 2nd question got the FCC man laugh out loudly.

So, that's all. I don't think there's anything special. I didn't go to please them. in fact, the 2nd question could get them rank me low or disqualify me outright. Their business.

Its only normal for DPR to call some people to update their profiles after the interview probably because its not every profile update done that would reflect on their system.

Besides, every communication from DPR pertaining to the success of your application would be reflected on the portal.

You should have asked him to prove his affiliation with DPR, how strong/influential his help can be and to provide more details from your profile since he claimed he got access just to know whether the whole thing is genuine or just another scam. A scammer would have none of this and would end the call by him/herself. Although there are many scammers around, it is a well-known fact that some people actually get the chance to select someone and depending on who they are, they decide to make money out of it. I am not saying this is the case but it's possible.
