Three persons were burnt beyond recognition in a fatal accident that took place at Garrison, Aba Road, Port Harcourt after hitting the controversial Garrison roundabout this morning January 4th. According to reports, a Toyota Avalon with about 3 persons in it rammed into passengers waiting for a taxi at the roundabout. I remember telling everyone that cares to listen that the roundabout was very unnecessary and has absolutely no 'advantage', how can you just wake up one day and decide to put a roundabout on the 'highway' that all road users were already used to 'speeding' pass. I was out of town when they construted that roundabout and even i nearly crashed into it even with my many years of driving through Garrison.  Rip to the dead...20 Likes 1 Share |

Commend and support the governor for once if for no other but the completion of the roundabout. Motorist will get use to it. Beyond the painful death they passed through, would their family members ever know their loved ones died? With Nigeria not having a standard database system for their citizens, no standard DNA test would be able to identify these ones so their names would be added to names of missing persons and there would be an endless wait for their return. sincerely, i dont know what wike see in constructing roundabouts. he changed the original designs from Nkpogu junction and garrison which was supposed to be fly overs. and the roundabouts are so wide. you dont use roundabouts where you have major traffic on the road because it will be causing unnecessary gridlocks on the road. how can a sane person construct a round about along an express road? the best he could have done was to use traffic lights the way it is at GRA junction 6 Likes 2 Shares |
