Ogiri abd egusi/egwusi are exclusive Igbo words.

Any language using them loaned them from Igbo...

Ogiri and egusi are shared.

Igbos call Egusi melon. Go and ask your elders. No one is arguing Ogiri. It’s not a Yoruba food item. However, Egusi is. It’s not Egwusi either, that will make it the Igbo pronounciation, like how Moin Moin has been bastardized to mai mai.
egusi is Igbo.

We had this argument on Nairaland about 3 years ago, and everything was settled mostly. Una don come again with this sane nonsense argument.

Visit the old intelligent threads and educate yourself, the world does not revolve around Yoruba land and Igbo's cook egusi differently than Yorubas

Spelling is not the crux of the matter but pronunciation.

Nothing like Kpomo spelling in Igbo form, because the word isn’t even Igbo to begin with.

Cow skin was not considered to be food by the Igbos until fairly recently. It's no surprise that there's no popular word in it Igbo language for cow skin.
To this day, it's not as popular a delicacy in the east as it is in the West.

you're confused, yorubas pronounced kpomo as ponmo, don't say what you don't know... you are so pathetic, gele yoruba word for scarf, scarf has been with man from time immemorial, every region has their own word got scarf.. so don't claim it as a yoruba word pls

This your reply shows how confused you are.
Yorubas don’t spell KP but the sound exists in the Yoruba language.
What are you saying sef? Are you using style to claim “Kpomo” as an Igbo word?

Igbos call egusi melon. Egusi is not an Igbo word or food. Stop misinforming. Even the way you cook Egusi is very typical of Yoruba soups. We cook soup differently from others with a palm oil and pepper base.
Is not pathetic that you are arguing so ignorantly?

Soso is Yoruba 101% , go and ask anywhere.
you have come again with this your mumu arguments.

Soso is Igbo for ONLY. It has been like that since before the birth of Nigeria as a nation, does it mean ONLY in Yoruba as well?

Your ethnocentric nature will not allow you admit to anything outside the greatness of your tribe.

Soso is 110% an Igbo word. But juat like words like Jide, it could be shared.

'Imu oso' is not a Jamaican patois expression. The post where you got this from misinterpreted the source material.

'Akara' is also not Igbo. It is Yoruba.

Other Igbo words in Jamaican Patois that could have been added are:

Attoo (chewing stick) from Igbo 'atu' and chinch/chink (bedbug) from Igbo 'chinchi.'

Akara is igbo my friend.

Argue with fact and not as a pained tribalist
for your info Yoruba borrowed more words from other major tribes than they borrow from yoruba due to shortage in their letters( e.g letter C)

words that yorubas borrowed are: Alubosa, originally alibasa in hausa, ireke(sugarcane originally reike in hausa (sugarcane), rodo(a specie of pepper) is originally a hausa word, egusi, akara and others

Brainless, borrowing is revolutionary in all advanced languages like Yoruba. Even English borrow from French with renaissance, restaurant,....also from German Italian Arabic etc as influence of people they trade and do other business with.

Whatvis there to answer, it is as Yorub as any Yoruba word can get.

The popular mode of transport in the East known as “Keke”, I doubt you even kbow it is a Yoruba word.

There are tonns of words Igbos use day in, day out- But of which they aren’t even aware are Yoruba words.

I have always said it that there was no great Igbo civilization before colonization. It was the weaker communities that were being captured and sold into slavery. The implication of this is that the Benin Empire and its auxiliaries dominated the Igbo region during the 17th-18th century and in all likelihood a longer period before then.

And yet the dominated's language and culture remained uninfluenced by the dominus. Instead the dominated greatly influenced the language and culture of the dominus's supposed exiled subjects.

How silly your assertion is.
Throughout the world, there are always traces left in the culture, language, place names and/ or phenotypes of conquered groups by those they were conquered by.

And you talk like all of Igboland’s green rainforest. Have you been to Enugu?

Why is it okay for you to open your mouth and talk about Igbo things you don’t know anything about but not the other way round, hm?

It wasn't considered to be decent food in Igbo culture.
I don't even understand why anyone would to own consumption of cow skin which civilised groups discard or use for other non-food purposes.
