Police in Spain got more than they bargained for when they stopped three vehicles driving suspiciously. It turns out, the vehicles were stuffed with 9,000 pounds of oranges.

A married couple and their adult son and two brothers were arrested and are due to appear in court on suspicion of theft.

Those arrested said they had found the fruit by the roadside, and that it was for their personal consumption. They could not, however, produce the paperwork required to transport large quantities of produce.

In recent years, Spanish farmers have employed vigilantes to protect their oranges. The police think they were going to sell them on the black market since the price of oranges is so high.

Same Spain that was using tomatoes for festival when the price of tomatoes was high in Nigeria. Now its their turn with oranges. What goes around truly comes around!
