Power in a name

TANGENT - I've almost drowned twice in my life. For those who have been in such a situation they can better visualize the horror of it. First comes the panic, when you realize you no longer have control. Then the struggle, as you fight your fate, hope blazing strong. Desperation soon kicks in, hope dies a miserable death, true death becoming a reality. Realization you can't change your circumstance with your own power brings about despair. You pray for a miracle, promises to whatever deity will hear your pleas. The first time, my miracle came in the form of a stranger. My savior, I will never forget him.

Enough about me

BISI - THE OTHER WOMAN CH 09

Drowning, his lungs flooded with a fire that burned without mercy. Faster and faster his heart beat fighting for air, rapidly disappearing from the room. On all sides he felt a pressure weighing down, crushing him. In his head, the four letter word resonated over and over growing in intensity, invading, dominating, driving every other thought to a corner to cower in fear. The moment stretched to eternity, it demanded to be said, to be born from his lips. Namdi fought a silent battle as she sat before him, the same amused smile on her lips. From his soul a silent scream of defiance went off at the insanity of it all. He was a man, how dare she! The scream died at the realization he was powerless to stop his eventual surrender. It would only be a matter of time. The door remained closed.

"Bisi"

Namdi said her name, a warmth coming over him, pressure lifting, a seed planted. Everything was once again right with the world.

"I don't think I've ever heard anyone say my name quite like you"

A finger lifted to her lips, tapping them at a steady rhythm as she thought. Namdi no longer needed to imagine the softness of those lips, each gentle tap sinking in. A nagging thought of having heard similar words began to surface in his consciousness. With a firm nod of the head she stopped, hand leaving her lips to rest on the desk between her and Namdi. She leaned forward ever so slightly, chin tilting up exposing more of her charming neck on which hung a necklace.

Namdi's attention was swept up, his gaze following the trail of the necklace as it disappeared into her top bearing a weight nestled between her twin peaks. He wondered if she had always been wearing it. Thinking back brought no answers, her other attractions taking center stage on their first encounter. Looking closely he observed the necklace was not cheap. He had learned the hard way to spot quality jewelry over the past few years. It had a Roman style to it he recognized. A Buccellati! Namdi sat there, a stunned expression on his face for a fleeting moment. How did she get such a piece. She definitely couldn't afford it on a sales girls salary. Even if she gathered all her pay cheques for a year; ten years even. Namdi could not hold back his curiosity, an imperceptible change in the way he looked at her.

"How did you get that..."

The rest of his sentence died. On his inner thigh he could feel a tender touch. It started near his knee before slowly working its way in. A small part of him had a sneaky suspicion she knew what he was about to ask but it was overwhelmed by the sensation, blood rushing down from his brain.

"Stop! I'm married."

With a sharp intake of breath Namdi reached for the picture frame on the desk, turning it so it could fully face Bisi. The touch stopped making its way up his thigh, having reached only half way. She looked at the picture frame of Namdi with this woman. Her hand on the table stretched out hovering above his fingers holding the frame. She stroked the top of Namdi's hand. A current coursed through his skin, pleasure hitting every nerve on his hand replacing his strength. Deftly she rested her hand on his and together they pushed the picture to the table face down.

BISI - The Other Woman CH 10

"So he has someone"

Bisi thought, her eyes noting every detail of the picture on the simple desk. A few minutes prior, she had been shocked to see the man that had slipped through her fingers in a picture; here of all places. The word fate came to her mind. She immediately washed the word clean from her head, laughing bitterly in her heart. Power, not fate, decided all she muttered to herself, ruthlessly pushing back dark memories striving to bubble to the surface. He had her number, she knew without a doubt he would call regardless.

Standing behind her boss she couldn't help but look at her, comparing. It didn't take long for Bisi to admit the woman in the picture was beautiful. Her hourglass body seemed too perfect to be real. Barely reaching Namdi's shoulders, she clung to him like a prized possession. Bisi did not feel inferior. She could almost match the woman curve for curve. A slight smirk appeared on Bisi's mouth when she noticed she had longer legs and slightly wider hips than the woman.

Looking away before her boss got suspicious she began to walk around the office. It was spacious, half of it covered with floor to ceiling windows. She couldn't see through them but she could imagine what the view of the Lagos skyline would be like at night from this lofty height. White unblemished walls made up the other half of the office. In stark contrast was a single painting hanging behind what would be Namdi's chair. Bisi walked past her boss, standing directly in front of the art work. Bright red on white parchment. There was a ferociousness to the strokes of the brush. To her it felt like a tiger ran its claws against the white parchment, blood spilling out onto the canvas. An involuntary shiver passed through her. Looking away she pulled the only other available seat and sat down.

"Ahh, who are you to be sitting there!"

Mr. Aliyu stopped his ruffling of papers, his face turning to Bisi. His annoyance at having to wait had begun to show. She found the way he said Ahh before anything quite irritating.

"I'll get up when he gets here. Better to ask for forgiveness than permission."

"Ahh you better not be trying that logic at my store."

He turned back to his papers, getting them in order while muttering some choice words about her. Bisi explored the desk ignoring him. She began to notice it was not as simple as she first thought. She could make out a touchscreen merging seamlessly with the desk. Why only two chairs in such a spacious office? she wondered. Not sure how long they would be waiting, she decided to stretch her legs. Mr. Aliyu's mutterings got a bit louder, Bisi caught a few words that could only be painting her in an unflattering light. Using the space beneath the desk, her legs stretched, kicking Mr. Aliyu in the process. Surprised, papers fell from his hands. With a sneer he bent to pick them. She wasn't worried about repercussions, she was his top sales girl. Crossing her legs, fingers draped along the armrest she watched the door in anticipation, her desire slowly bubbling to the surface. She was not disappointed, the door opened, a shocked Namdi uttering a single word in disbelief.

"You!"

Where do you end and where do I begin

BISI - The Other Woman CH 11

From his throat a moan escaped, her lower limb stretched to the limit, stopping mere inches from his engorged crown. His desire built to a crescendo; thoughts of reaching across the desk and having her right on this table having free reign. Her hand still lay on his, pressing down on the picture frame. In Bisi's soft brown eyes he could see a desire outshining his own. With a flick of his wrist, Namdi held her hand in his, muscles tensing as he rose to pull her across the table. At this moment all he wanted from the world was her, here, now! Bisi's lips quivered in anticipation, a fierce heat rising up her thighs, gathering below her navel.

"I have your pot of tea here sir."

Namdi froze, his neck swiveling to the turning door knob. A chill went down his spine, paralyzing him. On his tenth birthday, malaria had ravaged his body. In a desperate attempt to keep his temperature down his mom had plunged him into a bath of ice water. Through his weak screams and struggles she had held him down. He had never felt such a sharp change in temperature again till now. What a cruel joke, to think he had signed his end with his own tongue. Had it already been 20 minutes?! Namdi watched the door open, frozen as the receptionist back pressed against the wood. Time, if he could only have more time...

Bisi had no such constraints, recovering first. In one fluid motion she extricated her hand from Namdi's, slamming it against the table. The impact woke Namdi out of his stupor. Without a second thought he let gravity pull him down to his chair, hiding the bulge in his trousers behind the desk. The receptionist jumped at the sound, nearly dropping the tray of tea items she held with both hands.

"Maybe now you'll take me seriously."

Bisi sat there, calm, like a palm strike to the table never happened. Her words were even, carrying none of the passion that had burnt in her eyes moments before. She only looked at Namdi, patiently waiting, disregarding the receptionist walking and placing the tray on the table between them.

Unsure of what to do, how to answer, Namdi opened his mouth without a plan, hoping he would somehow muddle through.

"I'm sorry miss, let's start from the beginning."

Turning to the receptionist he couldn't help but watch her as she prepared the tea set. How much had she seen? Could she tell? He searched for clues in her demeanor but found nothing.

"Sir, will it be your usual?"

"Yes, and for the miss, she'll be having the Earl grey, two packets of sweetener and a dab of cream."

With practiced finesse the receptionist made the teas in quick succession, placing them in front of Bisi and Namdi. Gathering the tea set back on the tray she paused for a moment. Still watching her, Namdi unknowingly held his breath. Reaching out, the receptionist lifted the face down picture frame; setting it on its stand. It faced Namdi and Bisi equally. She took a step back, turning to face Namdi.

"Will that be all, sir?"

He looked at her quizzically, having forgotten about the lunch order.

"You may leave, the tea's will do nicely."

Surprised, the receptionist turned to Bisi wondering who she was to be able to speak in such a confident tone here. Hearing nothing from Namdi contradicting Bisi's statement, she picked up the tray, walking briskly to the door. Namdi briefly watched as the receptionist left the table heading out. His brain howled at him, he couldn't be in the same room with this woman alone. Over and over his common sense pounded, fighting his desire, fighting his want, fighting his lust. In front of him, Bisi's tongue slowly ran against her lips. An act so simple, so delicate, so basic and yet it lit a fuse in him. It was only a matter of time and he would fall, this he was sure. Tearing his eyes away from her lips he focused all he had left on the picture sitting on his desk, shouting from his heart.

"Wait!"

To cut the story short, her husband set up an accident that got her killed, to avoid further murder.

BISI - The Other Woman CH 12

"You forgot my lunch order"

A complicated expression ran through Namdi's face when he saw the receptionist stop. Somehow he had gained and lost.

"Sir! You said for making us wait you would atone for your sins with a business lunch. Your receptionist can go."

"I don't remember saying... you know what... regardless, she will stay here and take notes on the events of and leading to the fire."

An impatient expression quickly appeared and vanished from Bisi's brow but she conceded.

"Where should I start?"

"From the beginning miss. Leave nothing out"

"It was dark so I can't say I saw much"

"That's fine, you can just stick to what you saw."

"My memory is a little fuzzy. If we could go to the scene of the fire that would help."

"Alright I'll have one of the interns escort you to..."

"No, the least you can do is take this seriously and handle this case personally!"

"God woman! lets just get this over with. I'll meet you outside."

Namdi watched as Bisi grabbed her bag and headed out with the receptionist. He looked at the untouched tea cups. He was thirsty but had lost his appetite for tea. More importantly he needed to focus on calming himself down. Walking out with his lower half at full mast would make him the talk of the office.

Ten minutes later he strolled past the reception, a quick shout to the receptionist to toss him a bottle of water. She wasn't there. Bisi was already in the elevator holding the door open. Stepping in, Namdi stood as far from her as he could, the doors closing behind him. She laughed, a melody dripping with seduction.

"I won't make you do anything you don't want to do. Here, take a drink, you look dehydrated"

Namdi reflexively caught the bottle of water she threw to him. He looked at her suspiciously.

"I promise to stay on my side of the elevator till the doors open."

With a finger she made a cross over her left chest finalizing the promise. There was nothing religious about the way she did it Namdi thought. Unscrewing the cap he lifted the bottle to his lips. He stopped, the first drop nearly splashing into his mouth. Bisi noticed his hesitation. She flashed a radiant smile. He lowered the bottle.

"You really don't trust me?"

"Almost as much as I don't trust myself around you."

"You really do know how to flatter a lady."

"You, my dear, are no lady."

"Awww, that's the first time you've called me 'mine' and 'dear'. Now what do I call you?"

Namdi was at a loss, there was something about this vixen in front of him...

"Call me Namdi."

"Namdi... I like it. To think it took this long for you to tell me your name. Nice to meet you"

As the elevator descended, Bisi stretched out her hand. Throwing the bottle of water away Namdi smiled as he shook it, feeling a slight pinch. Her hand was small, nearly lost in his, he hadn't fallen for her water trap. His eyelids grew heavy. With a ding, the elevator doors opened; Namdi's eyes closed.

Namdi's eyes opened, his vision a blur, head muddled, his body stretched and prone on a soft surface.

"Where am I?"

His words came out slurred. His mind went back trying to remember. It began to come back to him in bits and pieces. The elevator, I drank water, no wait I threw it away but then a woman, a handshake, pinch, no it was a prick! Her! His vision cleared, right in front of him was

"Bisi!"

He roared as he lunged for her. He didn't get far, his body recoiling, metal digging into his wrist and ankles. She had handcuffed him to a bed.

"Sweety, I know you want me so bad but you have to be patient."

Namdi's eyes widened. In Bisi's hand was a hypodermic needle.

Base instincts, an innate savagery

BISI - The Other Woman CH13

A single petal fell from a rose residing in a vase half full of water. Lazily it floated in the air currents created by a softly humming air conditioner. Candle light danced below the petal, threatening its path, giving the room a soft glow interrupted by the occasional flickering shadow. At the mercy of the artificial wind, the petal traveled over an ornate table bearing the weight of a hand bag resting beside a neatly folded suit, shirt and trouser. Its journey did not last long. Its final resting place, the well defined abs of a fully stripped Namdi in full view of Bisi.

"You bitch! What did you do to me!?"

Namdi spat as he realized he didn't have on a single stitch of clothing. She ignored him, flicking the needle at the tip while depressing the plunger a little. A small stream of liquid squirted out of the syringe. Walking to the side of the bed she could feel Namdi watching her every move. She relished it, basking in his gaze. Her eyes fell on his body. Beautiful; mine; she thought, her knees lightly resting on the thick carpet. She couldn't resist, her finger reached out to trace his chocolate colored abs. Bisi marveled at the firmness of each one, working her way around the petal. Namdi twitched.

"How?"

Namdi's tone softened, a stark contrast to the rest of his body. The needle she held made him rethink his options. He had to convince her he wanted this as much as she did so she'd uncuff him. Hearing his change in tone Bisi turned to him, her heart beat rising.

"Hyoscine, highly concentrated, introduced into your blood stream with a tiny pin prick"

"But how did you carr..."

"It doesn't knock you out baby, merely turns you to putty in my hands. Hardest part was your clothes, though that was quite enjoyable"

Bending forward, she kissed him, right above the petal, her breath washing over, slightly nudging the fragrant rose. Namdi groaned, his eyes closing, body tensing, some more lost memories floating to the surface.

"The rest will come to you, give it time. You'll see I didn't make you do anything you didn't want to. "

"I remember, your car... you drove me here; where is this place?"

"Where we are doesn't matter sweety, all that matters is we are here together and you can make as much cries of passion as you please. No one will hear us."

Thoughts of shouting for help were discarded by Namdi. Unless she wasn't telling the truth, but could he risk it? No. He couldn't take that chance.

"Kiss me Bisi, let me feel your lips on mine"

A shiver went through her, she hadn't thought she'd hear him say those words so soon. Rising, she knelt on top of Namdi, her thighs clasping his sides, his chest bearing her weight with ease. Her scent flooded his senses, clouding his mind, filling it with euphoria. He struggled to not fall over the edge, shielding his thoughts as best he could, looking for an opportunity. He would escape, he must escape.

With her free hand Bisi ran her fingers through his curly hair, falling forward till her lips were mere inches from him. She could see his breath fog, in sync with the rise and fall of his chest, an ocean beneath her. She waited with lips slightly parted her eyes locking with his. He had to make her believe she had him mind body and soul Namdi told himself. His head moved up, their lips connected and a bomb went of in their minds, shredding all thought but the basest of instincts. A thirst and a hunger manifested demanding to be appeased, the lips of the other the quencher.

Out of breath Bisi pulled back, both their lungs heaving, fighting the breathlessness. Gasping, Namdi stared at her, then looked at the cuffs on his hands.

"I want to... hold you... in my arms Bisi..."

"I ...know you... do Namdi,... I'll... grant your wish"

She said between gasps for air. Barely believing his success Namdi eased the defenses in his mind, a sense of relief making him complacent. Curiosity got the best of him. Catching his breath he looked deeply into her eyes.

"Bisi, what do you truly want?"

"No. Namdi, it's what 'we' truly want. You really think your little ploy will work."

With no warning she plunged the needle into Namdi's side injecting him with the liquid.

The sharp pain in Namdi's side was fleeting. He could feel the liquid coursing through his veins. The disbelief at what she had done lingered. A simmering rage roared to life, metal biting deeper into his wrist and ankles as he struggled against them. Bisi hopped of him as he thrashed, a wild beast chained down, a petal unnoticed falling to the floor. She smirked

"You've heard of ecstasy pills. This liquid will only melt away your pesky inhibitions. Namdi you'll finally be able to be who you truly are. Should only take a few minutes."

"Bisi you succubus! I will have you pay for this if it's the last thing I do!"

"I know you will baby, I'm counting on it. Now, I too need to get ready."

Without a backward glance she headed into the bathroom closing the door behind her. The cuffs rattled from the impact as Namdi threw his body against it over and over. A trickle of blood ran down his arm, the cuffs breaking the skin of his wrist.

"You still dare to drug me! I'll choke the very life out of you! Ravage you! Hack you to pieces! I'll show you pleasure and pain walk a fine line you twisted woman!"

Namdi threw his words at the closed door. His heart filled with a rage he had long forgotten he possessed, consuming every other emotion within him. He could feel his reasoning slipping as primal instincts took control.

His head struck the headboard, a loud crack echoing in the room. His mind spun. The door in front of him opened. Vision slightly out of focus, he saw two Bisi's, both so beautiful. On their body, nothing but a white see through lace nighty ending inches below their waist. He could hear a ringing in his ears, his head in a fog. With each step she took the two Bisi's slowly combined to one. Reaching the foot of the bed, Bisi reached for his ankle. With a click the handcuff fell of his leg landing on the bed. Another click followed.

"This must be a dream"

Namdi murmured, still dazed from the impact. Two clicks later he heard a whisper, so close breath tickled his lobe.

"You are more free than you've ever been."

She sat on the bed, her lower back close to Namdi's head. With each breath he took, her perfume filled him, transporting him to a land of endless possibilities. Pushing himself up he swung his legs, sitting beside her. Feet planted firmly on the ground he raised his stripped body and began to walk towards the door. Each step took him farther away from her and closer to one form of escape. Every candle he walked past cast a shadow more monster than human. He stopped half way to the door giving the clothes on the ornate table a quick glance. Could he really just walk away from her without any form of retribution. A sick smile appeared on his lips. His feet pounded the floor, taking him back to her, an outstretched hand swiftly reaching for Bisi's neck. The speed caused blood still dripping from his wrist to be flung, splashing against the white lace nighty she wore. Fluidly his fingers grasped her neck in a vice, slamming her head against the headboard.
