I quite agree wit you

but I think the English are more hypocrisy in their dealings...they have a coded racial attitude that they won't let show in the open.

they're lot of racial attitude that try repress.

Idowu hasn't played enough for us to be compared (performance wise) with Echiejile, let him get to play more before judging.

Echiejile has faced more than Pavon oga!

My last comment on this until March is that the coach knows what he wants and if sticking to Echiejile is part of his plans, what can you possibly do? Until the series of friendlies get here and something else happens, Echiejile remains the main man for Rohr according to him (not me).
TheSuperNerd:
So because Idowu "Neva see wetin Uncle Echiejile don see for GWG shirt".... that automatically makes Echiejile better abi? wink Are you not listening to my words at all? Do I talk longevity or Quality?

And Aina is below Echiejile defensively?? Did you watch Aina against Zambia when he came in? Did you watch him too against Algeria? So you want me to limit myself to just the Argentina first half of Aina abi? cheesy I wont even go into Aina's records at Hull. I wont even bring in his defensive game stats there. Would be unfair to Echiejile. Let me keep things on just GWG.

You think Echiejile would have fared better against a fast and super skilful Cristian Pavon?! cheesy Chaaiiiii....

I repeat, Echiejile is Rohr's no.1 LB because of his experience and nothing else. And don't tell me you aren't aware that we have not had the luxury of LB options for a while now until Idowu and Aina came into the picture.

I rest my case.

Okay but we have more U20 littering everywhere na. This coach shouldn't be lazy!
tbaba1234:

He is already 21 and he said his father does not want him to play for Nigeria.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by somehow: 7:24pm On Feb 24, 2018
He went forward and when we were counter attacked, there was no DM to cover for him. Same happened to Aina against Argentina. Same thing happened to Shehu.

Echiejile isn't that good supporting attack same way Aina isn't better defending. As for Idowu, I want to see more of him in GWG before I expand more.
junnyjake:

Remember the 1st goal we conceded against SA? Where the heck was Echiejile. We've seen him not just once, not twice but multiple times ran over and disgraced by opposing wingers.

You seriously waiting for us to concede 5 goals from his wing before you know he's an awful LB at the moment? For Christ's sake, the last time I checked, He wasn't starting for a Belgian div 2 clubside?

What has kept him in the team this long is lack of competition in his role. What will continue to keep him there is nothing more than sentiments, both because he can do any better than Idowu.

We didn't miss him when he was injured at the last WC, we definitely won't miss him if he fails to make it to Russia.

Pinnic shouldn't allow this rubbish scale Through!
darkelf:

Very annoying to say the least.

They would later complain that the NFF prefers hiring foreign coaches.

Why won't NFF require foreign handler? To prosecute a simple assignment as selecting real u-20 ballers is a problem.

They wine and dine with mediocrity all their lives. They won't prove themselves with such simple tasks.

The funny thing is with all these old papas, we might still get thoroughly beaten in the African championships.

Very shameful!!!!! angry angry angry

Pinnic shouldn't let stuffs like this dent his flourishing job done so far o. He should call some of these coaches to order. We need real reservior for the NT and it starts from the U17, U20 upwards
Humility017:

so pathetic....
you know the nff should be blamed for this...
someone like finidi who was ready to do the job jostle for this coaching role but he was denied....and now we have a lazy coach who can shout academics all over the country to look for talented players to put together and harness....
even manu garba will do better....

@bolded.... I no be Rohr shaa but I do know that he won't try that "on a normal day"..... His best attacking player in a defensive role? Kaaaiiiii... This is almost unthinkable unless.... wink Unless it is against a more powerful opponent in a knockout game perhaps and he can go with that with the likes of Iwobi, Iheanacho, Moses Simon all good to occupy the attacking front (Ighalo as the central force is also an option)... I believe at the world cup decisions will be made according to the magnitude of the game and in depth strength of the opposition.

We will be faced with certain "abnormal days" at the mundial depending on how far we progress...

I don't think Rohr will have just one or two tactical structures in place... Sometimes just one decision to perhaps contain or neutralise a deadly threat may see him make the most unusual of tactical decisions which may do the team good in the long run and for results' sake....

As for Aina... He was asked recently where his best position is and he didn't mention the RB/RWB role.... Surprisingly he said he feels more comfortable for now on the left... And I think Rohr may be reasoning along that line to accommodate both Ebuehi and Shehu on the right leaving Echiejile, Aina and Idowu to battle it out on the left... Echiejile will be given chances to prove himself worthy of a world cup place and if he blows it, then it will make the decision to drop him much easier...

I am loving the uncertainty in certain outfield positions shaa. It shows us the competition in those roles... But in the goalie position ehn.... It is different...it is not a matter of competition. It is more a matter of who should we risk best? sad

Let me borrow your final three words myself.... Time will tell wink

Meanwhile.... Can't wait to see them dorn these in our March friendlies... I'm growing impatient...

Let me just pick on your last paragraph.

In the match friendlies who are the home and who are the away teams?
Ie is it Poland Vs Nigeria or Nigeria Vs Poland.
Serbia Vs Nigeria or Nigeria Vs Serbia. That could determine whether you will see that jersey on those boys in March you know. Hahaha.

Poland's home jersey is Red on white. If they are home on the fixture it means we play with the darker green.

Serbia's home jersey is deep blue on white. If Serbia is home which jersey do we use for this now?

As long as any of Toru, Uduokhai and Akpoguma are available, there should be no mention of Efe. Scotland is a backwater league.

Jordan Torunarigha proved his quality once more in the Bundesliga and this time against Germany's Top team.... He was very impressive.

Having followed the league for sometimes now, I would say the list released is filled up with over aged players. I can only count less than 8 players that are within 20 years range, the rest are age cheats. It's so shameful that such a list would be released.

More reason I hardly support coaches from the league. It's just irritating that to comment on the list is just somehow to me.

I have done the analysis here before on this point. It would be too much work for me to do another one again.

Let's take Kanu at Ajax and Inter cos the way you mentioned those clubs is the way someone could mention Vicmo for Chelsea when he wasn't a regular at all. Do you know it was Finidi who was a regular at Ajax not Kanu? And you boldly put Inter there when you and I know Kanu didn't play much for Inter. Do check how many times most of these players played for these clubs.

grin

Kanu joined Ajax as a Teenager, 17 Years old, had 54 Caps with 25 Goals to his Name before he left the Club at the Age of 20. Ajax was a super Club at the Time, with quality Players in their Rank, hence you can't expect a Teenager signed from the Nigerian League to walk straight into the first XI.

Kanu could have walked straightaway to the Inter first XI, coz he signed for the Club when he was in-form of his Life, and after leading the Dream Team I to Olympic Medal in Atlanta at the age of 20.

However, Kanu underwent a medical examination at Inter, which revealed a serious heart defect; he underwent surgery in November 1996 to replace an aortic valve and did not return to his club until April 1997.

He couldn't make it at Inter because of the Reason, yet he was snapped up by Arsenal, a big Club in England at 23. Nothing is mythical my Brother, except you don't wanna be more objective.

90 mins against Serbia for consistency sake. That was my point. Of course I don’t expect he will do badly against Serbia.

Humility017:

a good 90 mins against Poland should be enough to seal his place as super eagles No.1.

one thing we still haven't understand about ezenwa is that...he always rush out from his line....and there by leaving space for a talented player to chip the ball off his head...he did this severally in this last Chan

you know he is not that tall but him always rushing out may gift a player like messi 5 goals in a match...

I would want to believe the jerseys are designed in this way: The flamboyant lighter green shirt has a lighter green short, the White short has a white shirt, and then the dark green top and shorts.

From what I can see comparing thier pedigree past, present and as well as consistency. Joel leaves them eating dust, Joel Haa continously played in Seria A apart from Injury has been very consistent.

None of Agu or Ogu players have reached the heights Joel has reached. They are all playing in the backwaters of Europe Turkey and Isreal. Furthermore, they are not the most outstanding players in thier respective leagues.

Joel for me first choice it's a no contest but this is the NFF and nothing will suprise me.

Did he sign or play for a Top Team?! Yes he did. Could he have been a Regular at Inter, had he not suffered the Heart Problem? Yes. Did he leave Inter for a relegation battling or mid-table Club after the Recovery?! No.

What Problem does Iheanacho have that's keeping him on the Bench at a Relegation battling Club?! What Injury did Musa sustain that got him relegated to the U23 Team and eventually loaned back to his previous Club?!

Putting Agbim and Kanu in the same Sentence really belittled the Latter, coz he's a Legend for Nigeria, even at Arsenal he was also a Legend.

Kanu spent 5 Years at Arsenal, played 194 Games in the Process, won Africa Footballer of the Year while at the Club, and was voted the 13th Gunners Greatest Player (arsenal.com 9/7/2008).

Echiejile, for a very long time has enjoyed little or no competition at the LB position. Rohr back in 2015 talked to him about making a switch.

We need someone who's good at both defence and attack, Idowu is just fine for that, there's no way he can be worse than Echiejile. I've seen some of his games at his club side. And I know about the already cliched club football is different from national team football.

We didn't miss him at the last WC and please sir, stop making people who are against his making the WC squad sound like crazy people, his experience isn't a beneficial one.

Don't try to twist my narrative and stoke up sentiments. Kanu is one of my favourite players. I didn't put Kanu and Agbim in the same sentence. Show me where I did. I mentioned Agbim to illustrate a point that merely mentioning a player without digging deep to indicate how many times he featured for that club is being somewhat superficial cos we know that a player can be signed by Real Madrid yet he played zero or so negligible number of matches. So if you want your assertion to be seen for the fact you are advancing kindly show us the stats of all these players for those clubs and then the position clubs like Marseille, Betis, Dortmund, Juve, Anderlecht, Everton, Frankfurt, occupied on the league table. That's what will tell the full story. That's why when I challenged you with Kanu at Inter you said he didn't play for a reason but you forgot that when you mentioned Inter abi?
So it's only the full stats that tell the full story not just that Oruma played for Marseille.

So it's only the full stats that tell the full story not just that Oruma played for Marseille.

grin

I've clarified it enough with Kanu except you have Issues with the Facts I presented. 194 Caps in 5 Years at Arsenal ain't bad for a Player.
