My elder brother is a very enterprising and supportive young man. He has been a father and provides for the family and caters for my siblings education since the demise of my father. He supports my business anytime I call on him. Most times I wonder how I would cope in his place if I were to be the eldest. If I needed a million naira and he can afford it, I have no doubts he will give it to me, but what baffles and totally breaks me is his reaction when and if I use intangible things as slippers and perfume that cost all below a thousand naira. If you are there as a stranger you would write him off as a stingy man, but like I said he can give you a hundred thousand just before and after that. I just wonder what to make of that and if other people have such experience |

I understand you in the sense that I think I'm like your elder brother. Similar situations even. The logic is that if you want something, ask for yours. Don't go on sharing mine especially when I haven't given room to share. Personally, I'd rather give you the money to buy a new one than share or hand down to you my 3/4 empty bottle of perfume. So I dig. 1 Like |

Somatic:hmmm. My rationalisation is that if I can give you big, then sharing small even without asking is no big deal. But what do I know? |

Your brother is a wonderful human who has even in his generosity been able to draw the line to show his very personal space. Be good to respect it. May God bless your family and everyone in it with wisdom as a time would come when his personal space would get broader. 3 Likes |
