Hello. Please how did you pay upfront? I thought HNWMC refuses to collect payment until your first appointment.

Hi All

Came in through Houston POE last week.

CBP: Why are you here
ME: Vacation and child birth
CBP: Can i see your doctors letter ,( glances through) ,
CBP: why do you have to pay such large amount upfront ( Shakes his head)

He scans my fingers ,stamps my passport till October and says we are free to go, he ddnt stamp my toddlers blue pali sha

That was all, i was like shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked . ...Anyways was happy and left

We picked our plenty bags , then one overzealous agriculture guy decided to intercept us, asked where we are from once we said Nigeria he took us to scan all bags, he sha seized my 12 indomie Oriental fried noodles ( Orange pack), and pointed to the picture of the chicken on it and found one tiny print that said it had chicken flavour angry angry, we sha carried our bags and left.

Thank God for favour all the way....

paid for hospital and doctors, using HNWMC, its to figure to how to pay for this healthy baby package let me not enter one chance with pediatrix

All the best to us all, and wish us safe deliveries
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by afrobrown2000: 2:12am On Apr 12, 2018
have called them severally ...when i call and i dont like the response i call again till i got someone that me told am suppose to be entitled to the healthy baby package she then told me she has freezed the account and that i should call back in two weeks to get the so called discount to be applied ,....so still waiting...pls any update concerning this will be really appreciated...
ogemele:

so i decided to call them myself on friday and noticed this bill came from a clinic called Pediatrix nothing changed...then i remembered a discussion about them earlier on this tread which i felt they wouldnt be the ones handling my LO delivery..
they have a healthy baby package which is to be paid before delivery and that is supposed to cost $675....will call on monday and see if i could still get the package

pls for those that haven't delivered you might also try and find out about this information to avoid unnecessary cost ...thanks

Os ur bargaining power thay matters. I used Esedebe too and i got a bill of $1175 from pediatrix and after much bargain i paid $587.50 within a stipulated time if not i would hv to pay the $1175.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by afrobrown2000: 2:15am On Apr 12, 2018
really...pls inbox me @ afro_brown2000@yahoo.com.....these pediatrix ppl are giving me headache
Petdaughter:

Congratulations! I actually know you very well, we are family friends. Ask to speak with Ann in central Billing when you call Pediatrix. She was the one that sorted out my bill and I payed over the phone.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by CheeseMama: 4:28am On Apr 12, 2018
Thanks to everyone who advised on how to deal with Pediatrix. I called them and was referred to Ann in Central Billing. She gave a quote of $1170 initially and i requested the HB package of $675 which she immediately honoured. She said she'd mail my receipt and i should call in 7 business days to request zero balance statement. Phew! I guess the trick is to talk to someone in Central Billing as their patient reps are very clueless on self pay patients.

Please does anyone know how much Lufthansa charges for extra bag?

You have to buy children ticket. They won't issue infant ticket to you cos they will b above two for the return leg. Had the same experience.

Where did you get the info from? Dr or Hospital directly.

Got mine through the Dr's office and its pretty self explanatory. Miracle Moments is a discounted package for self pay patients who don't have access to insurance on the pre-condition that you make full payment at the point of registration at the hospital or by your 37th week. They also have information for paediatrician, anaesthesiologist and pathologist.

If you got the info from Dr Xydas office just be patient and read through it. A specific question would be easier to answer then.

Please how do I contact the doctor's office?

This was me in 2016. I flew with an infant and returned with a child. the airline adjusted the fare for only the return leg when i was in US. All in all, it was cheaper than a full return child fare even with the lap price when leaving Naija. The con is there may not be available seats on your return journey. I was very fortunate to grab one of the only 2 seats left then i called them to issue the ticket. This was Emirates BTW

Ummm...not exactly except if it depends on the airline. I have just purchased Turkish Airline ticket and i was issued infant ticket when going and Child ticket on return and it was a lot cheaper than buying child ticket to and fro.

Ok noted. I only shared my own experience. Guess it depends on the airline.

Abeg help a sister out.
I intend to use Mount Sinai hospital Chicago, I have been calling the hospital severally but nobody seems to know the price of self pay delivery.
I called Access too, they said each doctors appointment is $150 but they don't know how much the doctor will charge for vag delivery or c-section or the hospital charges.
I need a reliable contact who can give me the accurate price quotes.

Hi guys!! so ive been a silent follower on this thread and trust me i read through all the pages and picked up plenty useful tips that helped myself and DW before we traveled...POE and even before delivery. We had our baby boy last week!! and it was here in Atlanta (Atlanta Medical Center).
The Hospital fee was $3200 and the doctors fee was $1000 and $50 for each of the six prenatal visits! We are still waiting for our clearance letter for all the bills tho...but im thankful that everything is in order so far. currently we are using south-side medical center pediatrics and each visit cost $60. i just want to thank all the guys sharing useful tips on here and useful experiences...God bless y'all.

I'll share my own poe experience and that of my wife later tho...cuz we traveled on separate dates.

We stayed with family.. and the hospital fee we paid was like a promo kindda thing. You’d have to pay the entire fee before delivery to qualify... if you don’t then you will be billed heavily. We haven’t gotten any bills yet cuz they just changed their platform and haven’t merged the old with the new one but we have all our receipts and the hospital said we should come next week to get a clearance letter that we don’t owe anything. VD is 3200 and CD is 4200.

Harris county BC issuance is one of the fastest I know.
For example if you put to birth on Wednesday and birth data collected and imputed next day go to the office close to renessiance centre on Tuesday next week you will collect it.
In fact in 3 weeks you will get every document and just wait to return.
Trust me
