I'm not sure if he has Parvo virus, that's for puppies. Did he mate recently? My bullmastif fell seriously ill when he mated with a b**ch. She gave him an infection and he wouldn't eat for days.

16 is one OF the highest ages a dog can grow into.usually the life span of dogs are always short.a 16 year old dog is equivalent to an 89 year old man or woman.the dog is aged and its time for it to go hence emanciating and depreciating gradually.accept it and stop living in denial.my dogs lived for 10 years and I still missed them though

My dear, we buy cartons of mini-me chin chin for them. I look at their pictures alot. All my passwords are their names. Dogs have a way of warming their way into your heart. They act so understanding sometimes. Very loyal beings. I saw this Mark Welberg's movie and his dog was killed, na so I begin cry..

Euthanasia is the one right that animals have, the right to die with dignity to end their suffering in terminal cases, that humans don’t have.

So sorry to hear about your dog. As a fellow dog owner I feel your pain.

At 16 years old your dog is already in it's last years sadly (going by the chart below, if your dog were to be human he should be within the 80-120 year old range)

The reason for your dog not eating can literally be anything. Your dog may have an upset stomach. Or it could be something more serious. If your dog doesn’t eat for more than a day I suggest taking it to the vet.

The reason is that it could be really serious. My dog refused to eat and when I took her to the vet I found out she had parvo. It took treatment at the vets and at home for a few weeks before she was okay.

If in addition to not eating, your dog is lethargic and without energy and doesn’t show any interest in anything else, then you must take it to the vet as soon as possible.
