An effective way to stop this from happening is to give students a student number which they put on assessments and exams (Not their names). This way, lecturers cannot identify them by their names. Also, there should be independent moderators who will look at a random sample of marked assessments to make sure that there is no foul play and that each paper has been awarded an appropriate mark.
Once people have their marks, it shouldn't be changeable

While there are truly such old men sex predators, there are a greater number of lazy adventurous ladies, who spend their sch days traveling and parties across the country with VIPs, making money to live expensive lifestyles. They return to sch unprepared for exams. When they fail which are often sure of, they resort to seducing lecturers to get pass marks.
These girls already assessed the lecturers that weak or easy to target.
This is the part people don't truly know about or talk because those same girls could come out to shout "rape" or "been sexually harassed " later to save face.
These same types of female students seduce their male classmates to teach them courses they are afraid of failing.

To the extent that all those commenting here seem to support one side or the other.
Just as I won't support the action of the lecturer or that of others like him, it sounds hypocritical that most of us pretend that we don't know that you get the kind of society you deserve.
When we talk about enforcement of dressing code and guarding the morality of our male folks (students and lecturers alike), we tend to cry to high heavens that they are adults and there's freedom in what we wear.
Let me ask two questions here.
1. How many of us would pass the test if we have the chance to have any beautiful and provocatively dressed daughter of eve that we have authority over? Only few rightly guarded and principled ones.
2. Do you think its critically looked into the moral uprightness of a professor before considering him for the job? Or because you think since he is a professor he ceases to be a normal man! Any normal and healthy man on our typical campuses will constantly battle with temptation.
So free our men and advise our sisters to dress decently

The level of reasoning of some people in nairaland is abysmally low.I am only reacting to the original post that mentioned universities as case study without mentioning any from the SE.Worthy of note is that the universities he mentioned were from all the geopolitical zones except the SE.If you are pained,please direct your query to the OP not me.

story is one sided, av hot many lecturer friends who were my classmates, it is the female students who troll these guys tempting them for grades, many girls in college find it more profitable to sex their way to high grades in skool, sleeping with lecturers gets good perks like high grades, access to money power and fame.

av seen lecturers abandon their wives and kids rent apartment for their female students and move in with them.
