Well it depends on where you are advertising your phone for sale. I sold my first xiaomi phone for about 73% the price I bought it despite having used it for almost 10 months.

It depends on the state of your phone and where you advertise it.

It may be hard to sell Mi Mix at 75% when the market you want to sell to are not even buying the new Mi Mix like they are the Redmi.

Absolutely True... But from real life comparison between the redmi 5 and 5 plus, the ram management is better on the redmi 5 than the redmi 5 plus. Sd. 450 vs sd 625

Very true. For MI Mix, you may be able to sell it at 75% in the international market to maybe someone in India, China or Europe. Very few people in Nigeria will show interest because they don't know the value.

Also, admit you are wrong in your analysis of note 4 and the 5 plus in screen size. Note 4 is 16:9 aspect ratio. It is wider. While 5 plus which is 6 inch is 18:9, it is longer. Not wide as note 4. The redmi 5 plus is bigger relative to size... Redmi note 4(151 x 76 x 8.5 mm (5.94 x 2.99 x 0.33 in) vs redmi 5 plus(158.5 x 75.5 x 8.1 mm (6.24 x 2.97 x 0.32 in).. And also heavier.
The redmi 5 is almost as same size to the redmi note 4...redmi note 4(151 x 76 x 8.5 mm (5.94 x 2.99 x 0.33 in) vs redmi 5(151.8 x 72.8 x 7.7 mm (5.98 x 2.87 x 0.30 in).... So i don't see what is wrong about my analysis.

I see......... you feel since the redmi note 4 you are using (5.5in) is a little big for one hand, the redmi 5 plus (5.99in) should be bigger. WRONG!!!

The dimensions are a little different.

Redmi note 4 dimensions are 151 x 76 x 8.5 mm
Redmi 5 plus dimensions are 158.5 x 75.5 x 8.1 mm

From the dimensions, you will notice that the note 4 is actually a little wider (76mm) while the redmi 5 plus is a little slimmer (8.1mm).

The redmi 5 plus also has a better screen to body ratio (~77.4%) compared to the redmi note 4 (~72.7% ).

So the redmi 5 plus is not too big for one hand .

The redmi note 5 pro also has similar dimensions with the 5 plus. Redmi note 5 pro delicious device.

7.5 mm added in length is bigger for someone who's uncomfortable with 151mm...the width is just 0.5mm difference is not noticeable at least. Well from the dimensions, it is obvious it is bigger. Screen to body ratio is all about screen size and not about the overall dimensions of the phone. I agree, the note 5 is delicious. With the specs, it's worth the discomfort...

When you are selling off a phone , you have to be patient . Most times it's even better when you are not desperate ( like you have another phone you are using already). You might be forced to accept any offer when you are desperate. Keep using your 5plus for now until you get a better deal.

He bought iPhone X this week, I just ordered Note 5 AI for him today as a supporting phone..

iPhone is just like every other phone in this market, the rate they loss Value is the same...

Anyone buying iPhone now, won't think of 6 or 7, now we have 8, 8+ and X..

S8 as at 2 months ago was 235k, Now new one goes for less than 200k, how much will you sell used one of 10months that was sold at 260k+?
If you see someone willing to pay close to 150k, You are lucky...

As much as I love Xiaomi Redmi phones, I have to admit you're right. IPhones and even Samsung phones have high second-hand value compared to Xiaomi. Partly because Xiaomi is not as popular as they are. When average people on the streets ask me what phone do I use and I say Xiaomi phone, they look at me like I'm using a phone made by aliens. Only few people understand and appreciate the value of Xiaomi phones, hence relative difficulty in resale value. Another reason is that those who purchase Redmi phones are people who are looking for the best value for money, low price and high specs, so don't be surprised if they price your phone way below it's true value. On the other hand, iPhone and Samsung users and buyers are people not only appreciate quality but can afford quality at high prices.

The prices of phone fluctuates a lot, he needs to be patient. As it is the prices of redmi 5 plus and note 5 dey crash daily, so to sell used ones sef dey hard if it's not priced aggressively.

It's just taller not very much bigger in size. It's actually slimmer and I find redmi 5 plus easier to hold than redmi note 4x, (I currently use both phones) although to drag notifications from the top is easier on 4x. But like you rightly said ... whatever makes one feel better.
