Oga leave matter. I can get you an iPhone X for less than 50k in New Benin right now with receipt sef undecided

It all depends on your target market. If you take your phone to the streets, you'll get it priced at a 'street price'.

Stop generalizing things bewarned, My boss sold his iPhone 7, 140K phone he bought close to 300k..
He bought iPhone X this week, I just ordered Note 5 AI for him today as a supporting phone..

iPhone is just like every other phone in this market, the rate they loss Value is the same...

Anyone buying iPhone now, won't think of 6 or 7, now we have 8, 8+ and X..

S8 as at 2 months ago was 235k, Now new one goes for less than 200k, how much will you sell used one of 10months that was sold at 260k+?
If you see someone willing to pay close to 150k, You are lucky...
iPhones actually have better resell value

It's not about me bro... The guy wanted to get a phone. He was considering the sizes and differences btw the redmi 5 and 5 plus... That's why I gave my opinion.

iPhone prices take too long to drop. This translates into better resale value automatically.

In Nigeria we don't have a store that does trade In,

You will sell your used phone at the price or value you place on it; that is more logical..

Instead of saying one phone has more after use value..

Peace

WHY IPHONE IS BETTER THAN XIAOMI

Just one reason:

Its easier to sell a second hand Iphone than to see a buyer for a second hand XIAOMI

I wanna upgrade to the latest XIAOMI..but one thing I kept asking myself "Will you be able to sell this phone when you're done using it?"

Imagine me buying Mi Mix of 150k and I still can't see a buyer for 100k?

Whereas.. IPHONE is like Gold.. The value is the same everywhere..

Xiaomi is my favorite.. I sold my 4A for half its price

Now.. my redmi 5plus is being priced down for almost half its price..

And I have my eyes on note 5

In as much as the above-mentioned is your opinion, I strongly disagree sir. My reasons?

About two months ago, I tested the Xiaomi waters with Redmi Note 5A Prime. 2 months later, I was really satisfied with the performance and every other thing, so I needed to upgrade to 5 Plus (Sweet device! shocked).

I ordered an exquisite Note 5A Prime case from Gearbest (e fine die cheesy), had a screen guard on it, and even one extra case. I packaged everything and hit Olx. grin

The next day, got a call for it lipsrsealed shocked. We met and sold it off with all accessories at the same price I bought it. Not only this, I helped a friend sold his, too. cheesy

Now you see reason why I disagree? grin Nonetheless, let's talk on WhatsApp. Might be able to help. wink

Let's remove all the bias from the seller and look at the facts. A used phone cannot cost more than the price of a new one of same model. Let's assume one individual has 1 Samsung S9+ and 1 iPhone X to sell. This individual doesn't know jack about Apple hype or anything.

iPhone X launch date price was $1000(USA), now it's $990(In Nigeria) = 1% drop in price

Samsung S9 Plus launch date price was $840(USA), now it's $720(In Nigeria) = 14% drop in price

I looked for the cheapest prices on Jumia.

This gap widens with time. This is 1 key determinant of resale value that isn't subjective from person to person.

Absolutely True... But from real life comparison between the redmi 5 and 5 plus, the ram management is better on the redmi 5 than the redmi 5 plus. Sd. 450 vs sd 625

I strongly agree, very true. My 5A Prime doesn't close apps at all as long as the battery isn't down or the phone off. shocked

But that ain't the case for my 5 Plus embarassed, it closes my background apps once in a while. lipsrsealed

Any solution? 4GB RAM oo sad

Checked. The update is meant to fix Full Screen Gesture slow response and some notification bug.

Guess it's not meant for me.

Jumia is not a USA store and they now sell refurbished phones as New..

Show me USA store leave Nigeria out of the equation, Let's focus on the OEM's Target market..

Can't leave Nigeria out of the resale value equation.

We can focus on other OEMs/target markets but first we need to establish the facts about resale value that aren't subjective in order to draw a reasonable conclusion.

Do price drops affect resale value or not? If your answer is YES your highness, i rest my case! grin

Hello Xiaomites, I have been trying to add my account and device so that I can start my bootloader unlocking process on my Redmi Note 5 but I keep getting an error to connect to the network and try again but my data is active and the network is quite strong, I have even tried while connected to WiFi but the same error. Please who has idea what I should do because on a serious note I'm having a bad experience using MIUI and I wish to install a custom rom.

I have only had bad experience using my Redmi Note 5 4gb/64gb, apps hardly stay in the background. I've used every setting possible, I don't mind my battery life being affected, all I need is for my apps to remain in the background. Funny thing is that I only use my phone for browsing not even a single game, I just need all my Chrome, operamini, brave browser tabs, pdf reader to remain open but it's like I'm asking for too much.

Complained about this on Redmi Note 4X 3GB variant. I only use chrome browser and the tabs just can't stay open even for long. MIUI issues maybe. To me, these are the kinds of issues that shouldn't happen by default, rather after one toggles some aggressive optimization settings.
