jerk: Na wa o. Sometimes I marvel at the sharp disconnect between the online world and real life. I' have always been dissuaded from VW cars because everyone says they overheat terribly. I know for sure that the Golf 4 and VW Passat (don't know about the very recent models) does that along with several other issues. So what do you think? Is the overheating problem true, and what else should we be worried about VW cars? |

FestacGirl: Toyotas can be very durable and has a higher resell value thats the reason for the overhype Its easy to maintain and parts are easy to get. I maintain mine myself. No issues at all. As long as you maintain it. Note i used a Honda before and seriously Honda has better acceleration but steering pump was disaster. Also if Honda experience overheating. Its gonna start having wears in the rings. Honda is good but if u lack maintenance culture dont go for Honda. And my Honda never embarrassed me with leg issue. For me i love my landcruiser. Over 230000 miles and still very strong. Only major thing i have done is power window motor i fixed and inner axle seal replacement. For a 4wd its cost of maintenance is really low. 2 Likes

adesina746: I'm not using it again. A friend is enjoying it now. Fuel consumption, AC, Engine, etc perfect! I used to do one funny thing I will not dare try with some cars. During those hot months when running the house AC with gen is not funny I will enter the car start the engine switch on the AC and sleep off; for over an hour at times. Car stays normal. No over heating or whatever. Safety? Volvo is one of the safest and rugged cars. It's studded with metals, chassis is strong. Just compare the weight of the door with your average Toyota. Parts? That's even the funniest part of the myths about parts being expensive. The few parts I changed are just normal-shock absorber and that triangular thing it's attached to (can't remember the name). I travel a lot on bad roads especially that Otukpo Enugu axis and others .....and I don't usually pity the car . I also would not know about the engine parts cos I didn't change or work on any. My argument is now that if a part cost 1k and I have to change it about twice in a year and one cost 3k and don't change it within 3 years which is better? Don't forget the mechanic's fee and most especially the breakdown disappointments. My S40 was the only car I used that never broke down or stopped me during a journey and please believe me I am more than worse with car maintenance so no be say I Sabi maintenance o. The only thing I do is greet the car after each journey . I will pat it and respectfully and thankfully say "Esin!! Well done! Lol! One stupid panel damage my radiator and I usually have over heating (plenty) as a result of that but the volvo will just shut down when the engine is hot. I will park, wait for it to cool (at times .), put water, then off we go again. I never change any top gasket or whatever. I bought it 2007. Not many in the country then and stopped using it around 2014. It was like letting go of a wonderful babe.... The car dey speed too. And respond to touch sharp sharp. That sound when I rev the engine...hmmm..... it's Ike when you just had a great time in za oza room! So please, from my own experience o, Volvo is good. Benz is great also. 17 Likes 2 Shares |

Toyota cars are quite durable as long as you maintain them well. My first Toyota was an 88" Carinna II. I drove it for 6 years and sold it for almost the same price I bought it. Since then I have driven a Camry, Corolla and currently a Highlander. My wife drives a Sienna. All these cars have performed very well and I have had no trouble selling any of them when I needed to. The cars have good fuel economy and like most have said on this thread, mechanics have no problems working on them. 3 Likes |

I think Toyota has the highest record in VEHICLE RECALL in the world. It isn't the best brand. The fact is that Nigerians love design more than quality. Honda has served me better than Toyota |
