He played for plateau Utd in the FA cup and league for 3 months. Make your verifications and prove me wrong.

I know Mikel was in SS1 when he joined Plateau United so he was probably just 15. I was an ardent follower of the league at the time and i am sure, he did not play a league game before leaving.

Maybe smaller games but not a league game.

Born in the city of Jos, Nigeria, and named John Michael Nchekwube Obinna, Mikel started his official football career at the age of 12 when he joined the popular and prestigious Pepsi Football Academy which has produced several star professional footballers including Peter Odemwingie. Due to his stand-out football abilities, Mikel was soon picked to play for Local club Plateau United, famously making a debut for them at the age of 15 years.

Mikel did not play a league game for Plateau and yes, i have seen this report. Unfortunately, we have no records, we could have gone back to check.

Lol.. You thought wrong. He made his debut in the league for Platuea Utd. My memory is a bit fuzzy but I think he stood out in a game against Wikki tourist when he made the back page of a weekend sports newspaper.

We do have records, just that it may not be online. Didn't you see the link I posted where Bitrus Bewarang, the then coach of Plateau Utd said in clear terms that they paid Mikel N20, 000 a month?
You think plateau are so buoyant that they paid their feeder team players N20, 000 a month?

That is about correct. I read an interview years back where Mikel said, he was paid #15,000 monthly.

Kenneth Omeruo is poised to spend his sixth successive season away from Stamford Bridge and his latest move could be confirmed before the end of this week.

Carefree Youth says the Nigeria international is presently in Turkey; the defender landed in Ataturk airport, Istanbul on Tuesday for transfer talks with one of his suitors.

Göztepe S.K, who have been on Omeruo's case for the past one year, are presumably the frontrunners to sign him on a season-long loan.

The center back's future at the Blues has been a point of discussion as he has yet to make his competitive debut for the Premier League side since joining them in January 2012 from Sunshine Stars.

Although he made the headlines for his impressive display against Iceland at the 2018 World Cup, new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has declared him surplus to requirements.

Omeruo was immediately loaned out to ADO Den Haag after he joined Chelsea, then had loans with Middlesbrough, Kasımpaşa and Alanyaspor in subsequent seasons.

Gernot Rohr spies on Super Eagles AFCON foes Seychelles

ByJosephine Azubuike -
July 31, 2018

Fresh from a disappointing 2018 FIFA World Cup outing, Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has shifted focus to the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles.

It was gathered that Rohr has embarked on spying on his September 7 opponents with a view to knowing their strengths and weaknesses.

Super Eagles lost their first Cameroon 2018 AFCON qualifier 0-2 to Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

“Rohr has taken delivery of Seychelles match video tapes”, Scorenigeria.com.ng was informed by the Franco-German’s close aide.

“He is studying the tapes right now. He doesn’t want to leave anything to chance even though the fixture in Seychelles is still more than a month away”.

The Super Eagles did not qualify for the 2015 and 2017 AFCONs after they won a third continental championship in 2013 in South Africa.

Rohr signed a two-year contract extension with NFF before the World Cup in Russia.

Libya sit top of Group E with three points following a 5-1 home win over Seychelles in their opening fixture.

South Africa, who humbled Super Eagles 2-0 in Uyo, are second in the standings leaving both Super Eagles and Seychelles without a point.

Toronto whizkid Ayo Akinola could switch his allegiance to Nigeria after he was approached by Nigeria Football Federation officials.

The 18-year-old was born in in Detroit to Nigerian parents and can represent the senior national teams of Nigeria, United States and Canada but the United Soccer Soccer Federation are in pole position for his services.

Akinola was part of the United States squad at last year's Fifa U17 World Cup, playing all their five matches during the competition hosted by India.

''I’m still discussing (it) with my family. Because I feel like it’s a really big (decision) ... It’s a one-time switch so you can’t switch back,'' Akinola was quoted as saying by The Star.

''I’m still young. No time to rush. But at some point, I’m going to have to make a decision which one is the best fit for me.''

Akinola added that he will make a decision on the country he will represent before the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup qualifiers.

He has also played for United States U14 and U15 national teams.

It is about money. He will probably have to take a pay cut if he leaves Chelsea to sign for a midtable club. Instead, he continues to stay in Chelsea and go on loan to tax free Turkey. He is earning more now than he would earn in England with tax obligation.

Have you heard of intuitive thinking?

People's way of life have a way of affecting them professionally. It is a psychological thing.
Look at Messi, is he really the leader of that Argentine team even though he wears the captain band?

You may see that picture as three boys having fun on the training ground but give a psychologist that picture and he will interpret so many things out of it.

That picture tells it all about the performance of those three players both in the Super Eagles and at Leicester City.

It is not difficult identifying a natural leader from amongst a pack of children playing on the sand smiley

Ndidi, will be a strong Team leader.

grin This may not make sense to some of us here but those that appreciate where I am driving from would understand better. cool
