There is more funding for msc chemistry and it's less competitive than chemical engineering. There are some schools that don't require GRE for MSc chemistry but you will hardly see any engineering program that doesn't require GRE in USA. My advice is for you to stick with MSc chemistry so you can get funding easily but if your passion is engineering, prepare for GRE and give it a try.

Please can you name the schools that offer assistanship for Msc Chemistry. Thank you

I'm so glad to jam this forum this morning in my despiration and in Yoruba (Nigeria ti su mi) meaning I'm tired of Nigeria.
I saw the previous parts (or should I say seasons smiley ).

Please, I know my questions might not resonate with the current flow of issue on this platform but try and help a brother build hope again and provide guidance. God help us all.

I graduated from FUNAAB 2017
BSc Chemistry, CGPA 4.47/5.0
Finished NYSC 2018

I do Have a resilient passion for MSc in Chemical and Process Engineering and if not together, only Chemical Engr will do in the U.S. (BSc Chemistry is eligible for MSc Chemical Engr ), Due to my no sponsor at all situation, I would need a concrete assistanship over there and I go survive somehow. I know you guys understands the step by step strategies of abroad schooling. Abeg help your brother angry

Since July 2018, job job job, ( to gather money for GRE and TOEFL cause people say it is needed) but No!!! All my country industry want is a Chemical Engr... Most of them... And I wouldn't let go of the Industry, it's my dream to be a Chemist for industries, proceed to being a process and R&grin person, formulations and Co. And the Engineering part will cover up for BSc Chemistry weaknesses

I have made up my mind to gather the money for those exams by God's grace.

So friends, as u can see I need a thorough foundational knowledge on MSc in the US. I've got to further. And I'm 25 will be +1 this June. Time is running.
The best give u can impart to me now is Knowledge... It will *MAKE* me

THANK YOU FRIENDS....
WILL BE ANTICIPATING YOUR HELP...
GOD BLESS YOU!!!

you want to run and leave Baba Buhari .....why na undecided . He wont be happy ooo

on another note , i would recommend doing GRE and giving it your best . That will open up more opprtunity for funding

have you taken the SAT yet?. With as normal as 1200/1600 you can get a full ride to Alcorn state University.

Mississippi valley state University also gives full ride with as low as 1150 but only if you graduated a year before so you might wanna take another WAEC.

Kentucky state University gives full ride with 1260

Claflin University gives too but also if you graduated a year before.

Fisk university gives too but I don't know the SAT score to attain to get it but a guy here got it with 1420.

Mcneese state also gives full ride scholarship too with 1220.

Alot of American schools gives full ride, I can't remember most of them. Just prepare well for the SAT and get a good score first.

Then you can chat me up to help you with some stuffs

I applied for my Uniben transcript through Etx on the 8th of January but they have yet to send it to the specified destination even after I chatted them up through their website a week ago. Is there anyone here who applied for their Uniben transcript this year and has it already?
The delay right now might be from the fact that your department hasn't sent your raw scores to Exams and Records Department (that's if you have not processed transcript before). So I doubt if it has even been shipped. You can keep following up with them though.

Most schools require a degree in Chemical Engineering or any related Engineering discipline for Msc in Chemical Engineering. Just as @ Time2win said, funding in Chemical Engineering is more competitive than Chemistry. But am still confident of getting funded grin

From my understanding, GRE is key for most schools because of the emphasis on QA. As a Nigerian, I will advice you write GRE because we do not take adequate math classes for grad school in Economics to give your profile a boost.

If both are in a related field, seek if you can combine both.

Visa approved, Monday 25th at Abuja embassy. Window 6
After my third attempt. First one was October 19th 2018, second was 4th of January 2019. And the 3rd was Monday this week.
All glory to God because He actually did this for me.
Thanks to everyone here who helped me one way or the other.
I really appreciate you guys. Here goes my transcript

Vo: Good morning
Res: Good morning sir
Vo: Pass me your passport and I-20 pls
Vo: Have you traveled on another passport before?
Res: no sir
Vo: can I have the passport
Res: I said no sir
Vo: oh sorry I didn't hear that clearly. Why are you going to Austin Peay?
Res: Am going for my masters in computer science and quantitative methods with a concentration in information assurance and security but on my l-20 it was written there as Data modeling...(he didn't allow me to finish the statement)
Vo: that's ok. How do you want to pay for the cost?
Res: I was offered a graduate assistantship that waived my entire tuition with monthly stipend the rest of the cost will be taking care by my uncle who's into importation trading and distribution of LG brand both home appliances and electronics. I have his statement here with me
Vo: that's OK... I won't be needing the statement. The assistantship has covered everything. Where did you finish your undergraduate (I guess he asked that because I couldn't enter my educational history on my ds 160 when I was filling it. I don't know why the part is not coming up on my system.)
Res: Osun State University.

Vo: Why do you choose Austin Peay State University?
Res: I chose Austin Peay State University because they offered broad courses in information assurance and security. Their program incorporate field work with basic course. For example.. (he stopped me here)
Vo:thats OK. How did you get this assistantship?
Res: I applied then I was scheduled for a Skype interview, a week after the interview I received an email from the department that based on my performance during the interview, my gre scores, my undergraduate cgpa and recommendations, the department was willing to offer me the assistantship.
Vo: what do u intend to do after your study?
Res : ( but I thought he asked what the degree will do for me, so responded with this with the look of things in Nigeria cyber crime and attacks are becoming common place, sophisticated and damaging. Every organisation has (he stopped me and asked again)
Vo: what do you intend to do after your study?
Res: I'll be coming back to Nigeria to enforce whatever have learnt because there's a huge demand for cybersecurity experts here in Nigeria. A lot of organization outsource for this skill because its professional expertise... (he stopped me here, thats OK)

After this he started typing non stop and said the word *your visa has been approved, you will need your l-20 at the port of entry bla bla.
I collected my passport today.

Congratulations
Mine is coming up this month please wish me good luck!

Good evening important people, please i want to ask a question,
I got admission in A community college in the US.
They didnt require SAT scores or IELTS and co.
Buh I knw that when asked of how many schools i applied to byvthe VO I should say 3 or 4 , so the question is thus:

1. Incase I say 3 or 4 and i mentioned other universities, then when asked did I take exams please what should I answer the VO, should i say yes or no?

2. Does the Universities in America demand exams like IELTS , SAT and co before giving admission to students over here, or do they demand them after giving the admission? Note: I'm going with O'Level

So i can knw the right answer to give, if I need the exams before gaining admission in Uni so i can look for a score tell them wen asked, coz I'll tell them the Uni gave me admission but i took the college for some reasons.

So i can be on the safe side!

Please its urgent
