So bad. Some greedy APC leaders didn't allow Ambode do what he intends doing but understand he is also greedy
Ambode that abandoned many projects like rail projects from Okokomaiko to Marina. Ambode didn't try in education sector. Ambode is the worst governor in Lagos state since 1999.

Point of correction, this is not development but progress. The buses were completely imported and not CKDs
There's nothing alien in bus production in the eastern or any southern part of Nigeria.
With the amount of financial resources available to Lagos state, bus reform shouldn't be a thing to be celebrated.

Are you claiming he was rigged out like Bernie Sanders was by DNC? I haven't seen any proof he was cheated in his primary.
I'm a card carrying member of APC, he was not only rigged out but trashed out.

It is no news that the Lagos state government is really to roll out about 800 new BRT buses on Lagos roads. These buses will help to relieve Lagosians of the burden of transportation across the state.

Last year, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode said plans have been firmed up to roll out the Bus Reform Project of the State Government in March with 820 high and medium capacity buses, saying that the initiative would redefine public transportation and make the State to be globally competitive.

The Governor, who said this during an extensive inspection tour of ongoing projects across the State which lasted from morning till late in the night, said the initiative was basically designed to inject 5,000 buses, modern terminals, facilitate ease of mobility for residents and also rev up Lagos economy, among others.

The Lagos Bus Reform Initiative is aimed at giving Lagosians an integrated public transportation system. It would kick start this year with 820 buses for Phase 1A which is the Ikeja Transport Hub and it will cover places like Ikeja, Oshodi, Abule Egba, Ojota, Maryland and Pen-Cinema

These are some amazing facts about the new BRT Buses that not privy to the public...

1. All the buses are equipped with CCTV cameras
2. They have USB points where you can charge your phone, etc
3. All the buses have free wifi (internet) for all users
4. There is never a dull moment for passengers as the buses all come with TVs for news, sports, music, and entertainment.
5. There are special spaces for the physically challenged, pregnant women and the aged.

Well done!

For me, one of the most brilliant things about Lagos is that all of the BRT buses (and now these new high-capacity public buses) are wheelchair accessible, as are all of the new pedestrian bridges, bus and ferry terminals, and new public buildings. Eko O ni Baje!

Huh, adding more vehicles than an already crazy congested road is nothing but madness.

Is it so difficult to have fast train in Lagos. The roads are congested already. I believe having effective metro stations will ease the movement of people in Lagos. Imagine a Metro line that connects island and mainland.

Good initiative however, if there's no dedicated facility for the maintenance of these buses the scheme may not be successful.

They actually have service stations around Lagos. I know at least 3, Oshodi, Anthony & Yaba. Equipments fully supplied, installation going on but contractors waiting for Ambode to pay. This has been his problem so far, swift payments. It's not like Ambode doesn't have ideas but he's very bad with paying contractors, also speaking from personal experience

Great observation especially given that the waterways are grossly under-utilised and the red and blue rail lines appear not to be given fast track attention

1) Will they be properly maintained? 2) Rolling out this number of buses with no corresponding improvement on our road would only cause more traffic 3) Is anyone among the cabal in Lagos State Government financially benefitting from this initiative?....nice one anyway.

I keep wondering how we got to this level of tribal bigotry. And most of these faceless bigots online are probably under the employ of the tribe they hate.
Hatred will only make you bitter, it will muddle your brains and leave you incapable of thinking right.
I wonder if someone from the other tribe offers you a contract to make millions you will reject it because he is Ibo, Yoruba or Hausa that you've been influenced to hate?

Grow up and see that it's the same skin color and the same red blood that we all carry.
We go suffer racism for oyibo hand come here too come dey see all this stupid tribal nonsense
