This is how 100level students of the Department of Theatre Arts were inducted/initiated today at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka, Anambra state.

In an event caught on camera, the new students were made to dress as native doctors in white and black attire as they were formally welcomed into the creative department.

Chai! I weep for my dear Nollywood. So they are simply telling us that the future of Nollywood still lies in juju movies? When other woods are busy coming up with movies that impact and reflect the realities of the digital age, Nollywood is still preparing for a future of juju versus pastor, native doctor versus man of God, wicked mother in-law versus unfortunate wife, poor suitor versus a spoilt Yankee billionaire. Movies whose end is so glaring from the beginning.
I wonder if Nollywood directors really know that the word "suspense" exists.
