ASHLAND: you have spoken the truth. but listen to hypocrite by falz you will realize that most Nigerians are hypocrites. moral relativism is problem of this country. lecturers pirating academic papers will expel students for malpractice. parents who are dishonesty in places of work who scold or beat their children for lying. Most Nigerians see bribery, nepotism etc as norms. Most believe you have to 'settle' to get things done. Do you expect traffic agents who extort motorists not to bribe immigration officers? Most people who complain about corruption had or still being involved in some of corrupt practices-examination malpractice, financial fraud, illegal abortion, drug abuse etc. yes, most are motherfuckinghypocrites. 7 Likes 1 Share |

LadySarah:In this era of media trials. He should post the picture and full name of the officer on all social media platforms and tell the story there. Since the immigration officer is bent on frustrating him, he might well tarnish his career and name on social media, that is if the thief officer gives a hoot. 2 Likes |

@DavSagacity The fact that your passport was issued in the rock city of abeokuta caused you any headache while travelling? Cos I still wonder why we all are always bent on getting it from Lagos, Abuja where these immigration officers milk us dry. DavSagacity: |

Take a look at yourself in the mirror and make s change. We all are same, let anyone of us here get a job as an immigration officer and posted to a passport office instead of him or her to condemn his or her colleagues it is to tow the line because of the extra cash to be made, we don't want to make a difference and we all want a better country. 1 Like |

This story illustrates what I have been saying for a long time now about the meaninglessness of any “anti-corruption” effort that limits itself to prosecuting a few top (opposition) politicians while doing nothing about the rampant corruption lower down the scale which touches on the lives of everyone. Why do passport offices need to be stuffed full of under-employed, underpaid “workers” who do little more than extort and bully anyone who needs a new passport? Why not automate the entire process by making it online only, and then firing the vast majority of these parasites? Is it that Nigerian politicians and civil servants have no idea how things are done in well run countries, or do they just prefer to leave a system in place that allows them to hand out “jobs” to their relatives and camp-followers, where these can then impose themselves on the general public? The simplest way to radically shrink corruption in Nigeria is to simply slash the public sector and eliminate the positions that create opportunities to practice corruption. All the money currently being wasted paying salaries to so many leeches could be diverted to fixing the country’s infrastructure, and in the meantime the handover of most government activities to the private sector would radically improve the quality of the services provided. The same old “fear and punishment” techniques that have always been used in Nigeria will never suffice to do the trick. 2 Likes |

Most Nigerians don't like standing up against what is wrong and that is why evil continues. If you check, those corrupt immigration staff have built giant duplexes and are living large. The worse part is that the political class will go to this same office and get theirs for the official price of 17000. |
