An NYSC member, Odanike Azuka, who is supposed to pass out next month, has drowned while swimming at Rivotel beach in Abraka, Delta state.

Odanike a graduate of Delta state University, serving in Anambra state, died on Saturday, April 4th, and his body was recovered on Sunday, April 5th.

Azuka was reportedly supposed to resume a lecturing job at DELSU after his NYSC next month.

Too many dangerous beaches in that area Umutu abraka obiaruku, if you see how people that lives in that area jump into the beach and swim u as a stranger will want to follow suit, even kids swim as if they are fishes.
I cant forget how an angel in human form saved me from that river, that river looks calm but has dangerous current in flowing.
I was excited to see everyone jumping in and swimming including little kids so I followed suit not knowing they have learnt how to swim, as the wave was taking me away a lady who was also swimming noticed me and grabbed my neck and took me out of the water. my God my maker i ran home leaving my shoes and hand bag

There's actually huge signboards warning people to steer clear of river Ethiope in all the campuses in Abraka. I never swimmed in any of those throughout my schooling there. it's so sad that such a rare gem is gone.
