The question on the lips of those that ply through the Yaba-Oyingbo is when will the Lagos State Government finish this BRT Terminal? The Yaba BRT Terminal is one of the many abandoned projects by the former governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode. The project which ought to have been completed since August 2018 has been left untouched as the workers and the contractors have deserted the site of this building. The Yaba BRT was designed to link those in the mainland to the Island that is those are within Yaba, Oyingbo, Unilag, Ojuelegba among others can have an easy catch up with BRT services. AutoReportNG visited this site in September last year and we saw the manner at which work is on-going at a fast pace, we thought the place will be ready before Christmas for commissioning but alas, work stopped, materials were abandoned, even the roof that was nearly fixed has been left unattended to. We got to Yaba for an inspection over the weekend and its a pity that our dear Yaba BRT Terminal has been deserted. Weeds have taken over some of the building as most of the materials for the construction was left wasting away. The granite, the sands are all in the open with only few left. It will take the order of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu to make these contractors go back on site and finish up on this site. We can report that work on this place is about 65% which means just some little touches and this place will be up and running. These are images from our assessment. That's the problem with improper monitoring of projects Projects are meant to have timelines....so, who has been responsible for feedback? The Nigerian citizens need to always hold the government accountable for all that needs to be done Tax payer's money need to be utilized properly 24 Likes 3 Shares |

Abandoned because the house of assembly, agencies and contractors loyal to Tinubu refused to cooperate with the executive, just to sabotage the guy at our own cost. But Nigerians dont read between the lines. 5 Likes |

sirusX: My brother, the government is been run by citizens, one thing i have noticed with Nigeria is that the citizens are even worse than some politicians, a sane citizen will not throw trash in the drainage, a sane citizen will maintain governments properties, the government has provided jobs for her citizens, some are to maintain governments properties, the fund has been released, but guess what? oga maintainance is in a hotel room with 5 of his daughters' mate, yet we blame the government all the time, how can a sane person see a parked BRT bus, then start scratching it with metal, some people will use government properties just to destroy it, the government gets a committee to check and maintain its properties, guess what, committee members dey Dubai with hoeloshos, and we blame the government all the time. Nigeria needs collective efforts to grow, if i was in a position of authority, 48% of governments properties will be managed by private firms, those who re strict, and can fire anybody who misbehaves, and knows that if they themselves misbehave, another private firm is waiting to take their position, that will keep everyone on their toes. For example, Bi-Courtney has been managing MMA2 airport that is why it seems to be doing fine, even though the man at the top is corrupt, but at least the place was looking okay as at the last time i was in the country, now take the same MMA2 and give to the government to manage, the useless citizens put in place to manage the place will run it down. 4 Likes |

If Sanwo Olu is smart, he should not embark on any new projects but focus on the ones Fashola and Ambode left behind. |
