Maybe you didn't read what I wrote well, his phone got bricked cos he may have a modified ROM and tried OTA of an official ROM and before you can modify ROMs you'll need to unlock the bootloader. Maybe his ROM was modified and bootloader relocked being sold to him.
I can remember both of us had a debate on this when I got my phone new and had an OTA and you were of the opinion that I should avoid OTA cos you thought my rom was a shop ROM when I sent the screenshot of my phone specs. Am the Chinese version redmi 6 pro novice guy then.

guy the procedure is kinda tricky now, u have to open the back cover of the phone in order to boot into edo mode.

Gone are those days when one can easily boot into edl mode through the use of some customize USB cable, adb command or bootloader interface, though then there's nothing like unlocking of bootloader in order to root or flash custom recovery on ur phone.

If u know ur way around u can unbrick xiaomi phone that suffer any form of hard brick

Google is the best place to get solution to whatever situation u found urself (either hard or soft brick) because we've had people all over the world who has either experienced or suffered same fate as u and still get to fix their phone through the help of google

You can edit tags on your phone with Star Music Tag Editor. If you are editing a single it's best you do the editing in an isolated folder so that it won't affect other songs especially when it involves album art.
