Expect 100% Hike In Drug Prices, PSN Tells Nigerians by ikewaterwater: 11:56am On Jun 22, 2019
The Lagos State Branch of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, PSN, has told Nigerians to expect a 100% increase in drug prices.

PSN chairman in Lagos Mrs Bolanle Adeniran, who spoke at an event organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industries on Thursday, stated that Nigerians should expect a 100% increase in drug prices in about six months from now if the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control does not reverse the 350 per cent levy it imposed on drug and product registration in the country.

Punch reported that she said that NAFDAC also needed to eliminate the delay associated with registration of drugs and related products, adding that the registration could take over two years in bizarre instances.

embarassed

Multiple taxation would either kill the.business.or the buyers.

I know this minimum wage would prompt all government revenue generating Agencies to stylishly increase the taxes, levies and fees.

Customs already changed the exchange rate it accepts for duties thereby increasing import duties, FIRS are perfecting a new VATs

This only happens when labour and trade.union fights for salary neglecting meaningful issues like Inflation, Power and Energy supply, Infrastructure etc.

What happened naaw! Drugs shouldn't be something the government will joke with anymore. It's something that's to do with life. A good thinking government shouldn't do anything that will hinder its easy accessment by the people. Most especially a country whose minimum wage is low, delayed salary payment and with voluminous numbers of poor people. Buhari should stop all these.

greedy lots...most of these professional associations are established extort more money from the public.

imagine the pharmaceutical industry, one of the most profitable sector,if not the most profitable,is talking about increasing cost of drugs.

most of those anti-malaria drugs sold at 700 naira and above are actually worth btw 150-200 naira when bought from the manufacturers

Nigerians should take more herbs, fruits and vegetables ...then avoid processed foods, hard drugs, alcohols etc so as to avoid these greedy pharmacists
