There are two modular refineries going up in the east.
One in imo, and another in abia.
But That is not my point.

My point is that Yorubas are used to insulting the Niger deltans whenever they complain about oil related environmental disaster and marginalisation.

Some of you even blame Niger deltans for their own pollution.

Now suck it up or we will blame you people too.
The ND militants deliberately blow up the pipelines to press home their demands. The southeast neighbors egg them on in degrading their environment. Several pipeline networks are laid across certain areas of Abia and Imo but igbos will never muster the courage to blow up the pipelines in their own backyards to spite the FG.

Go to the Niger Delta and see gas being burned away into atmosphere by oil companies.

In some places, you can't even see the sun.
These gases dissolve into rain and fall as acids where they enter into the soil and rivers and kill off all the plants and fishes.

You are still blaming the victims.

We are waiting to blame you people too.

Those who own Lagos are those who make the laws that govern it and control the machinery of the state. Those whose language, culture and tradition are entrenched in the state. You can make money anywhere but don't forget the road that leads to your village.

The problem is that you don't know that those who governn it are influenced by those who make the money...the corporate world...my dear go and make money and stop shouting host up and down

Go to Ikoyi club and all those elitist club you would know that money rules. In business no body gives a fúck about language it is value proposition.. that is why in a place like Banana island , Osborne Ikoyi, Lekki ..speaking Yoruba is seen as backwardness or even speaking any native language ....

In any environment, businesses are influenced by policy makers which are the indigenous people of the state. They can fold or be fair to your biz networth. If government can bring down residential buildings for expansion of road projects much more a refinery that would render direct and indirect jobs to millions of her indigenes with projected amount of revenues to the state coffers

The most pristine habitat in Nigeria turned into a stew of hydrocarbons.

I hope you guys would also shut up.

What happens in the Niger delta is largely self inflicted
The Niger delta are short sighted and STUPID

Their lands being destroyed is good for them, since they don't use their brai

Shithole country. How can a sane individual allow oil refinery in the proximity of a city of several millions of people. They want to destroy Lagos because they have moved to Abuja.
Lagos will be so polluted, people will be dying of lung diseases like crazy. Dangote s businesses strive on blood.

Nothing wrong with that

stupidity at its best, so we should continue fishing in a lagoon rather than getting our petrochemicals refined

Can you just listen to your mind before typing this.
This country should never be in a situation where we'll depend on private refineries to supply our fuel needs in the first place. This is a scheme of gullibly enriching individuals at the risk of the people who really control the national values of this country with their participation in a business venture that's in a higher need of supply.

It's sad that this point wasn't obvious

mumu talk, minister for wailing and pitying affiars.... now get it straight, as a nation we have to set our priority straight

Priority like continuing to focus on am oil sector that's predicted to decline in future due to the threats it poses on climate change? Or is it a priority where we pollute a vital area of the Atlantic that can not only serve as a food basket but a potential ecosystem that can save climate change and other problems.

Oh i think you should really get your priorities straight.

Dangote is building his own port.

Refinery is not the same as exploration

Less likely to be a spill (tho not completely eliminated )

Tho you have a point

We should have that discussion
