It saddens me when we compare ourselves with other African countries.
Other African countries that should be eating our dust by now

It saddens you because we are not in the same African continent with them or that God created us before them?

You know nothing. There is nothing like sense of entitlement in what he said. If Mark Zuckerberg were to be a Nigerian in Nigerian he would fail..

You're talking garbage. Do you realise there are multi-million dollar startups with foreign investor funding operating now in Yaba and other hubs that were started by Nigerian youths who've never stepped out of this country? Why have they not all failed and crashed since they are ''in Nigeria''? Go and check them out in the next 10 years and they will be the Apples and Microsofts of Africa, while you'll be twiddling your fingers and cursing Buhari or whoever is in power then.

Appreciate the ones achieved. After all if they give you electricity now, you will still complain that they have not build a village hot for grand parents.
What i'm saying is that,
we shouldnt be rubbing shoulders with already established countries like SA, Egypt, Libya etc who have steady power supply.
we should focus on the little, little fundamental problems ranging from bad roads, epileptic power supply(since day before yesterday,i havent seen light), bad/wicked leaders, boko haram, disunity/hatred among nigerian tribes, messedup economy/poor currency, etc before going into competition with those countries.

Can we now agree that GEJ was also a failure
Oga Buahri has no impact in the growth of Tech in Nigeria. In fact for Nigeria to lead other African Nation in Tech Hub Innovation shows the backwardness of entire Africa. Take it or leave it, Buhari has no direct impact in the growth of Tech in Nigeria.

IF Nigeria wants to build a nuclear bomb she can do it. Do you know there are Nigerian astrophysicists and scientists working at NASA and teaching at elite top universities in America and Canada?

There are so many start up tech companies in Nigeria and people get employed by these companies.

A scary number of youths are not even tech-inclined and you want them to land a job? How?

You lied, Mark Zuckerberg would not have failed in Nigeria if he applied the same ingenuity he applied in America. Besides, Nigeria is not a den of failures. Nigeria has produced the likes of Dangote, Otedola, Innosson, Soyinka, Tony Elumelu, Jim Ovia, Festus Akimgbola, Emeka Ofor, Artur Eze and countless others.

Those who fail are those of you who on a daily basis curse the country saying that there is nothing good about Nigeria. So you cannot curse the land that you till to plant crops and expect it to yield abundantly for you at the time of harvest.

The ratio of tech hubs to population is quite low for Nigeria. So this is still not so great a news.

SOUTH AFRICA, EGYPT, AND LIBYA DO NOT HAVE UNINTERRUPTED POWER SUPPLY. Go on Google and type 'power cuts' beside those countries' names, and you will see news of regular power cuts.

Power cuts are a common feature of 75% of nations on earth, which comprise developing nations. It is not unique to Nigeria!!

Look at a shameless loafer like you. Your mates and even your juniors are in Yaba and other tech hubs developing new digital technologies that are drawing the likes of Mark Zuckerburg to Yaba, and attracting millions of dollars in international investor funding, while a loafer like you can only scorn from your wretched basement. Don't go and find a way to contribute to society, you hear? Lowlife.
Okay but I'm 100% sure I'm more successful than your Dad though.

It was the whites that produced it when they were in power in SA.
After apartheid, they had to denuclearize.

Those shitty black illiterates can't even produce an electricity bulb..
And yes, Nigeria can produce nuclear weapons. But we don't have the materials needed to do so.

Peter Thiel, was Facebook's first big investor, with a $500,000 in 2004, when Mark Zuckerberg first set out to turn his dorm room project into a lasting business

In 2005, Zuckerberg's enterprise received a huge boost from the venture capital firm Accel Partners. Accel invested $12.7 million into the network, which at the time was open only to Ivy League students.

But atleast, theirs wouldnt be as bad as our own..,though I havent been to SA before, but my cousins who came home last xmas from SA were looking sparklingly fresh and they confessed that SA is by far ahead of nigeria in terms of human development, economy, education, military/police, health, just name it. thats why our people die to go to SA in order to do all manner of odd jobs.

what about libya whose currency is by far stronger than most of the western countries, lets not go there.

lets just lay low and avioid competing with those countries atleast for now, while we fix our dear country.

wow! Pips need to be educated about what this news really means.
Tech here doesn't really mean Nigerian is technologically more advanced than SA or Egypt ( ie in terms of manufacturing, automation, academic research n contribution to technology, etc). Tech here only refers to digital technology n startups and have to do with web or mobile apps which includes Fintech, B2B sales sites, Bet site, forums, online TV and media, blog, Vlog, job sites, etc. Those hubs they talk about are like locality where you would find good pool of people including investors (venture capitalist, angel investors, funding firms, etc) as well as tech enthusiasts getting involved in start up.
Since Nigeria is a very populous country its logical it leads in this area. Tech start up per capital would have been a better criteria n that would see Nigeria doing very poorly

I laugh when I see people say South Africa has uninterrupted power supply..

Like. guys, in rural areas, 60% of households have no access to electricity, plus the constant load shedding happening in South Africa is enough indication that 24/7 is not a thing there.

But trust those zombies to hype their country as if we don't know what's happening there.
