The maths has been solved correctly by using almighty formula. Check the 3rd image posted by opperwezen. It is very correct. The is no other way to solve than this method. The very first guy who attempted it miss fired half way. I really hail the guy that solved it the quadratic formula method. U re brilliant

Hi everyone, I'm back again to this forum. Sorry, I'm just seeing this now.
Lalasticlala, any prize for it?
Let's start by simplifying
s = [n(2a+(n-1)d]/2
Expand the bracket => s = (2an+dn²—d)/2
Noticed, we have exponent of "n", hence we use Calculus/Differentiation. We use the "Quotient Rule" => ds/dn = [vdu/dn - udv/dn]/V² .
where ds/dn means differentiate "s" under "n".
"u" is the numerator, while "v" is the denominator.
ds/dn = [vdu/dn - udv/dn]/v², solving

ds/dn = [2(2a+2dn-d) - (2an+dn²—d)0]/2²
=> ds/dn = 2(2a+2dn—d)/4
simplifying, we have: s = 2a+2dn—d/2
Then, making "n" subject: 2s = 2a+2dn—d
=> 2dn = 2s—2a+d
Therefore,
n = (2s—2a+d)/2d.

Making n the subject of the formula

2s = 2na+dn-d
2s = n(2a+d)-d
2s+d = n(2a+d)
n = 2s+d/2a+d

This starts as arithmetic progression, S is the sum which will lead to quadratic equation.
From there you can use almighty formulae/factorization/completing the square method, depending on the one you can use well.

Re: Can You Solve This Math Question? by sheDD(m): 11:06am On Apr 16, 2020
Answers is
n= 2S/2a+(d-d)
Solving
S=[n(2a+(n-1)d]
(Cross multiply)
2s= 2an+(n-1)d
(Multiply d to open d equation)

2s= 2an+(nd-d)
2s=n(2a+(d-d)
(Divide by common factor)
Final answer you isolate n" by dividing both side with 2a+(d-d)

Final answer= n =2s/2a+(d-d)

This is the correct answer n = [(2a-d)±(4a² - 4ad + d² + 8ds)½] ÷ 2d and not this n = [(d-2a)±(4a² - 4ad + d² + 8ds)½] ÷ 2d . The mistake you guys are making is on this step dn²+2an-dn-2s=0 which is same as dn²+n(2a-d)-2s=0....hey sorry the negative-b from the almighty formula alters the signs where - b= -(2a-d)=d-2a. Hmmm my math is rusty. E don te

If you only define the worth of something by how much money it adds to your pocket then that's very sad.
