Hello house, I recently read that Android 10 on Note 8 Pro puts the Note 9s to shame with optimization and maybe that's why Xiaomi is delaying the update until they have sold many units of the Note 9s.

Guys, I just got 4GB/128GB Redmi Note 8 today.

But I didn't see earpiece in the case.

Is this how Xiaomi package their phones?

They're just keeping the price of the phone relatively low by cutting out some unnecessary luxury, or you think those ones that come with earpieces come for free? You pay for those things too

Xiaomi phones don't come cheap because they're built with substandard materials, it's cheap because they take a lot less profit from phone sales, about 5% compared to some other big name OEM's that make as much as 30% profit from each unit sold

They make the bulk of their profit from phones by selling services like ads, apps, Mi Cloud subscription and the rest, that's why there are ads on MIUI, which you can disable as well with a little digging. So cut them some slack for not including earpiece

Lies, is the same Android 10 that Xiaomi confirmed the continuation of Roll-out, Region by Region for the Note 8 Pro? It's suspension of haver nothing to do with RN9s but for closed-public beta testing which is now a norm since they stopped the weekly beta MIUI versions.

Exactly what she's saying and continuing from where you stopped; b4 deciding to buy the corolla, check whether you are capable of maintaining it, otherwise better buy bicycle or o-trek.

So in essence, I'll repeat what she said " People who buy phones with amoled displays do not even think of the "cost of repair", they just buy for the satisfaction it gives them for media and viewing. This conception that amoled is not great because of the cost of repair dey one kain jare.

I bought a redmi note 8 and the phone is a beast. My friend saw the phone, love it and went for note 8 pro. Problem is that he is unable to use his 9mobile line in it effectively as the mobile network is always on 2g/EDGE.

I also use 9mobile on my note 8 without issues. Please anyone know what can be done for him to use his 9mobile line with the pro 8?

May 19 is MIUI 12 release date for Global and it will be beta first before stable. Don't confuse MIUI 12 with Android 10.

So I got my note 8 pro earlier this week
And it has been FANTASTIC
i did a little bit of tweaking and I now have a small problem I don't know how to resolve
I use the launcher that came with the phone as well as one dope theme I found on their theme app
So yesterday I did this region thing and went to India to get a font and brought it back to Nigeria
So my small issue is this
I could be using the phone for hours now and then it suddenly just takes me to the homepage and back to the default theme...the font still remains though

Issue is I still want to be able to use my theme or any other theme without the phone cancelling them

P.S if there's any nice feature or tweak to make my Xiaomi experience better please let me know
-i haven't also done any update yet.....still feeling the whole new phone vibe and exploring the current update before I update next week or the week after

About the update, thing since there was/were pending updates, that should have been your first point of call before starting to install apps.

Its funny. SD865 phone with an IPS LCD display is very very scarce. I was curious about the whole AMOLED thing and just checked. It just a Vivo Neo 5G only.
I hated AMOLED because of the burn in defect. I hated to see it on my S5 and still hate to see it now.
It very annoying especially when viewing movies...and you would be seeing your keyboard outline against a sky white background or your battery icon and network status.
I wish they could find a method of fixing it.

Let him try your own sim in his phone. Or upgrade his sim if it's still a 3G SIM.

But mind you, the two phones are different

Just an opinion,

I don't really think these high end devices are designed for such extended periods of screen usage at a time, say 8 hours of use from wake-up. Given the prices, I'd say the target audience are not extreme users that have their smartphones as their only computing device. They are designed to be powerful across all aspects of usage, not to be tortured 24/7 on a single task.

OLED screens are great for viewing content and for creatives due to it's colour accuracy and amazing contrast. I think a majority of users that purchase flagships and high end devices are mild users and not heavy users and as such they can go through a full 2 year smartphone cycle and have no issues with their OLED displays.

If you compare this to users that push 16 hours of SoT daily, well, you begin to see the problem there.

Well I'm currently using a OnePlus 6 right now, and I don't ever put the cost of repair for a screen when getting a phone

Close the dispute. Your item is with NIPOST. If the seller checks it is a dispute you might not be able to win.

Hi Chief,

Attached is the last tracking details of my package that was sent since 16th of March. Any chances its at NIPOST already? I addressed it to NIPOST Ikeja branch but with my name and phone number.

Thanks

you guys should chill on this anti-AMOLED rants jor. Just a few months ago, on this same thread, AMOLED was considered far better than LCD in everything and now it's considered bad? Must people jump from one extreme opinion to another?

Know what you need and what is best for it. Then regard that discovery as it truly is - a personal opinion. Our own tastes do not make AMOLED or LCD good or bad.

Also, take care of your devices. There are people who use their phones without having to repair anything. Same phones others see burns or get cracks and have to fix.
