LIES!

The best thing to do is stop patronising DSTV. it is that simple, use your money elsewhere. Why do you think you have the right to dictate for a company how to price her services? If you don't like it, stop patronising them. I don't understand Nigerians, it is simple economics. Look at the vast majority of the comments, people who failed economics in secondary school. Nonsense!

You don't succeed in life by evading challenges. You develop by using resistance to build capabilities. Men go to space despite gravity, men dive to great depths despite crushing pressure, men invest in great enterprises despite damning economies because that is the only way to get ahead. The folly in the security of Multichoice's monopoly should be rejoicung for the courageous visionaire.

Nigerians should rise to the challenge of this company to establish their own to conquer Africa. Where are the Dangote's of the communication, broadcast and entertainment industry in Nigeria. Why are they crawling. That is what you should ask. There is nothing Da gote makes South Afrucan can successfully sell to us. That is the push back we should adopt as national policy.

Today we see a citizen Elon Musk firing rockets to the conquest of space on the patronage of government. Here government wants to take loans to 'upgrade NTA', funds that should ordinarily go to backing visionaries who can challenge the likes of Multichoice and deliver better products than NTA will ever envisage. So you can see that we suffer a lot because we don't have the proper framework for development.

So you can see just how much each Nigerian subscriber contributes to the coffers of the South African government through DSTV as compared to what NTA for instance makes for our government, (certainly a big zero naira). This should excite us into venture.

Im sick and tired of watching repeat shows on DSTV

Last time I went to one of their kiosk to subscribed, a guy walked and laid complaints of his DSTV being faulty.

When the customer service guy inquired from him what the problem was, the guy was like:
'' Since I buy am, dey tin just dey repeat programs and film. E fit show the same film 5 times in a week, I don set am tire''

I just burst into laughtergrin

I don't blame them, I blame Tstv.
You can't blame TSTV bro. The kind of leaders we have are the kind of people who will sell us all out as long as they stand to benefit from it.

MTN and Multichoice bribe the hell out of the people in charge and greed will not let them say no. From what I read, it is our own bodies that frustrated TSTV and you can bet who was behind it all. Multichoice wants to have sole control over that industry in Nigeria. And our stupid leaders are letting them!

I weep for us.

Defending evil only makes people see you for what you truly are...

Imagine paying for a month subscription and your street transformer goes off for two weeks..

Everywhere its pay as you use.. Except in this hell hole full of evil doers... Spits

Honestly speaking. i did my subscription & just after 6 days transformer got burnt, till now no lite, no transformer.

Oga. The naira is 387 to the dollar not 430 please. Stop defending the undefendable. DSTV makes more profit in Nigeria than any other country. What do we get in return?. Poorer content, no pay as you view as should be the norm and a marginal hike in dollar rates or VAT calls for an immediate increase? I am opting out once my current subscription ends! Enough! Startimes here I come!

Please where can one easily buy it at this rate.? My bank charges 390 or so for debit card and its limited to $500 a month. Even big businessmen are forced to patronize the black market and pay through their nose

Pay as you can never come to fruition...

These people bribe the presidency.. The national assembly... And there is nothing Nigerians can do about it... Because the youths are useless..
+++++++

If 50% of customers do not re
charge or renew subscription for two months, they will have a rethink.
How many people can do without watching repeated contents MultiFraud is churning out?

This thing should even be pay as you go... Not monthly subscription, they are just stealing our money in this country.

If I subscribe a full month, and somewhere in the middle of the month I have to travel what happens to the remaining half? There is even no way of accruing your subscription, this is just pilfering in the highest order.

Our National Assembly should immediately force them to activate the pay as you go subscription.

1.Pay as you go does not exist in any African country. South Africa has a packages ssytem, and they pay N1000 more than Nigerians per package.

2.TSTV is to blame for TSTV's failure. For starters, they claimed to have a deal with Bein Sports, when Bein was at the same time denying that they had signed a deal at al, plus poor customer service among other things.

Then there was HiTV...which government even backed. Mistake made was that HiTV assumed Nigerians bought cable for English football and Champions league, and tailored their bouquet accordingly. Big Mistake.
The way u have been defending multichoice since am beginning to think u work for them.

So for posting facts like there is no pay as you go in any other country, I am defending multichoice?

I am just correcting misconceptions. As for cost of multichoice bouquets, there is startimes.

Infact I would have switched to Startimes since , but for the fact that there are certain channels they don't carry that Multichoice does. People who have switched spend less. Much less than I do

Once again, there is no pay as you go anywhere. As for tstv, they are the ones to blame for their downfall. Claiming to air someone else's content when content owner is saying that they did not authorise you to do so is not only bad business practice, but is tantamount to piracy

Why can't NCC stop DSTV/GoTv from cheating Nigerians?

We've said it times without number that the South African company should embrace "Pay as you go" system of billing just like it is in SA and other sane climes.

Why increase tariff when people hardly get value for the money they pay. This rubbish has to stop.
Nigeria government will not do anything. Nigerians should stop subscribing from June 1. I have stopped my subscription.

You are right but I think its more about quality and sport. Imagine the way telecoms competes, I belief such will force prices down.

Calling on your government and regulatory bodies appear right; but, with apc lies and frauds, liar moha at the centre, and the fact that the commission members are always the same politicians appointed for settlements of their rigging or nurctunal supports, 1 billion Maura for proportional sharing among them is enough for even another hike before the end of the year. That is the Fela's thesis of 'nternational thief thief'. When you have a government run by lies and brigandage, what more do you expect?

Lol. Why complain..

I only pay when want to not when it expires. My dstv has expired since last week and I havent paid cos I dont need it now.

I will pay whenever i need it again.

Simple.

Re: Nigerians Groan, Protest DSTV/GOTV Tariff Increase by OldSkoolHeadBoy: 11:18am On May 31, 2020
It is matter of time before DSTV becomes history like Blackberry service. We are already watching Netflix in Nigeria, with better internet service, TV streaming from America/Europe will soon give them a run for their money. By the way, who makes international calls with MTN/GLO/AIRTEL/9 Mobile anymore...it is mostly WhatsApp calls all the way now ! Even a lot of people are making end to end local calls and that is fast eroding the huge revenue that those companies used to rake in before.
