In my year 1, I had about N500 with me, my last card, no allowance yet, no helper...die hard broke. I just arrange myself and stepped out of the hostel, I saw a woman selling avocado pears at a very affordable price and I bought N200, bought garri N100 and sachet water . I had N200 left Incase of emergency pending when my allowance will come towards the next weekend. Ladies and gentlemen, I drank garri and pear for like 3 days until one of my roommates came and collected the spoon from me to taste the combo and was like “ why do you like this pear and garri so much, let me taste it”.....I just smiled weirdly and said I loved it cos it was my favorite (favorite bawo? Me that hunger want to kill).Later that day I just took my card and went to the ATM to check if I would see any money, low and behold, 12k was in my account (the first cut of my allowance). I was happy so I called my dad to thank him and ask when he sent the money, he said he sent it days ago but didn’t bother to call me...I was speechless. I just ran to buy chicken and plaintain, to replenish the lost nutrients in my body.
Another one was when I went for Saturday fixed class by one old “wicked “professor in my 300l . After 3 hours lecture he gave us 1 hour to go out for lunch, everybody went out and I was the only one in class with him. He later noticed me and called me, he asked me why i didn’t go out. I told him I had nothing on me to eat so what was the essence of going out. He asked what I wanted to eat and how much it would cost, I told him N300, this man removed N1000 to give to me but told me to bring back his change on N500 . I told him ok, I left and went to eat, on my way back to class I heard he had dismissed the class so I went to his office to give him the balance. I saw him outside and he said he wanted to see if I was a sincere person, he told me to keep the balance and that was it. I stopped seeing him as a wicked lecturer from that day.

I don drink garri without sugar for days,imagine drinking garri without sugar and u no get idea of wetin u go chop next
I don mix beans soup,with raw garri,chop am one night like dat
I get running stomach d next day,i dy shit like say na piss i dy piss
Kerosene no dy to do eba
I don stand up from my house around some mins after 10pm,go beg one of my female coursemate if she get food wey she chop remain,hunger want kill me dat day
I don beg niggas for like 200naira make i use chop,i use dat moni survive for like 3 days
At times self even to waka na problem,i go dy waka,movement no stable,eye dy spin
I lost alot of weight in my 100l first semester

And i tall,so it was really obvious dat am losing weight
One of my female course mate don ever buy me bread and coke one night,after i tell her say i never chop since morning.She saved a soul
I no fit blame my parents,cos i know say if dem get,dem no go leave me like dat
I no fit tell dem situation of things, make my mumsy no go get sickness cos of thinking,e no dy hard her think
But one thing i know be say,na time
Very soon,all dis hard times go become story
Though i dy my 200l now sha

There was this time when we were battling water scarcity, I used the last water I had to wash the last yam I had, used the water I used in washing the yam to cook the yam and also the water for cooking the yam for washing the plates.. I cannot forget that experience

but thank God, we don't look like wat we have been through. Never give up, always focus on where u are going to

In life, there are moments we are faced with difficult situations with the sole aim of surviving hoping there will be light at the end of such circumstance..

Mine: it happened when I was I part 2 second semester, it was close to end of semester and there was no cash on me, no gas in my cylinder and I had to eat that night .... i had to Cook 'Eba' with normal water, ate with Palm oil sprinkled with salt.. imo that night bad gaaan....

So over to you guys, what Is the weirdest thing u have done to survive?

Don't know if you guys noticed that most of these difficult weird ways of survival happened and still happening in our educational institutions. During this coro period I was at the bank to make withdrawals and [/b]a student flashing his school ID was directly asking for money.I didn't give him because I won't really be helping him

Back then in school, A female lecturer of mine always brought her daughter to school sometimes, and This girl liked me a lot but i didn't know.
After our first quiz, your boy didn't write shit.
That course, Jurisprudence. Fear that course oh......
well, I had to reciprocate so i would get tips on topics to focus on for exam and quizzes.

It was weird how we started but it's not anymore.

back then in my 300L at VILLAGE HOSTEL of the UNIVERSITY of JOS, there was no NEPA LIGHT for 3 straight WEEKS, I have just SALT and WATER in my room and there is no roommate.. I just struggled to pay my SCHOOL FEES so there was nothing at hand, in my pocket and in my bank account.. 80% of the students are used to ELECTRIC COOKER abi na ELECTRIC STOVES, so no Light for them to cook and I have enough GAS in my GAS CYLINDER because I hardly cook due to no FOOD STUFFS cis of NO MONEY, so I went round THE HOSTEL announcing to people that IF ANYONE WON COOK, I HAVE ENOUGH GAS O, so if you cook you can FETCH small for me to eat, and many people complied and I survive like that LIKE THAT for 1 week.. SECONDLY, the HOSTEL ONLY SOURCE of water, Local hand pumping BOREHOLE was FAULTY, it becomes so very HARD and difficult to pump, before you pump one bucket of water you have to rest and pump again like 10 to 15 minutes depending on your strength.. so I went there one faithful morning, I started looking for AJEBO GIRLS WHO CAN'T PUMP, I will ask them if I can PUMP water for them, per bucket 20 naira and to carry it to your HOSTEL is 30 making 50 naira in all, some agreed and like that like that I gather 350 that morning then I went to FARINGADA MARKET to buy GARRI on congo (mudu) and Okro and red oil, and magi, na so I take make small SOUP take survive that period.. ONE GIRL in REHABILITATION EDUCATION Called ZABYA can bear me witness even till now.. #McADOYii
