more grease to ur elbow my leader, I need small advice on my project. its a 5bedroom duplex and I intend to have really long windows, from the floor to the decking beam.

my friend the site engr who may not have built any thing like that before is skeptical. he wants lintel all round the building, but ive seen houses with big windows, the full length of 10couches(floor to decking beam). could this be done, are their things I should take note off.

we intend putting lintels on every other wall except where we have windows.

It's possible, just listen to his objections and find out why he's sceptical, is there something about the structure the long windows will compromise?

To achieve structural stability, I have seen engineers who advise the lowering of the decking by 300mm, (one block course)

he didn't disagree with the idea, he just hasn't done it before the way I see it. structurally no issues, the foundation was solid.

we have 36 pillars for parlour,dining ,kitchen and two rooms. ill try totake pictures and upload today.

A frame structure usually doesn't need lintel to be tied together to give it stability.

I have seen it done without problem, the key to this stability starts from the foundation.

We plan to start the roofing of this security man house by tomorrow. Roofing materials has been paid for and is being expected.

A meter of concrete parapet of this design done in Enugu will cost about N15,000.

Developing it now doesn't mean you can live there now, sure you understand? Seriously, the only place you can get plots of land selling for N700,000 is out of town, in the villages near Enugu.

We have completed this roofing by capping it with the same colour and design of stone coated tiles. More pictures from this site later.

No. Any land with C of O will be much costlier.

12mm square rings are recommended in almost all the structural plans I have seen in Duplexes in Nigeria.

Today, we bought and supplied some long bamboos to this site. We plan to use the bamboo to make the scaffolding of this house.

Our plan is to start plastering this house as from next week. The bamboo has since been offloaded.

We have completed this scaffolding works. Next work is ;

1. Electrical piping works on the first floor
2. Mechanical piping for hot/cold lines for the whole house
3. Air conditioning conduit piping for the whole house
4. Plastering works

We plan to start all these works as from tomorrow.

Plus plans for the air condition piping (conduit) works starting soon.
