Oga why can't you discuss it here in the open[/quote

It's a fixed income product that offers competitive return compared to what Treasury bills and MMFs offer,
you can get up to 19% (P.A) ROI dependent on amount and tenor and yes the company is registered with SEC (you can verify on SEC website).
Please note that it is not a mutual fund, am posting it here because lots of people here are complaining of low rates of Tbills and mutual funds so fill you may want to first confirm before tagging it as scam.

Loan is always a bad thing. Please, dont take loan. However, if you are compelled to take it, ask yourself why you need the money. Is it for revenue generation or spending on material things? Can you fulfil your monthly obligation without your monthly income?

I think this belief about loans is only predominant in Nigeria.
All over the world, people go for loans when they need them.
The most important thing is what the money is to be used for.
There's nothing wrong with taking loans, as long as it's properly invested or solves a problem.

Secondly, PCI-DSS won’t help you if someone does the same social engineering he does with your bank account on you.

Thirdly, SEC registered advisers is not the same as the funds are regulated by the SEC. The partners registered with the NSE and SEC in Nigeria doesn’t mean those funds are regulated by those 2 bodies.

I am wary of companies who use marketing gimmicks to obscure the truth.
Great concerns i know this was raised in the telegram group also and i know they are working on leveraging SEC license with ARM while working on getting their direct license. Also they don't deal with NSE.
You can also know more and ask questions by joining the telegram group. They are very transparent.

Let's say I started with $10 and i added $10 following month, what will be my overall ROI.
The difference and percentage would be seen on your dashboard and you can do the computations

First of all... the Eurobond is not a “US Eurobond”. It’s a Eurobond denominated in USD.
Yes correct thanks for the correction

Guys, can you please share your experiences with your money market fund and others with United Capital?

It is the first time I'll place a partial refund from my MMF. Since last Sunday it's been from one story to another and up till now still no redemption. I have naira bond fund and money market fund (MMF) with them. I moved over there couple of months back from stanbic because of their seemingly higher interest. But the experience has been terribly horrible.

It's possible that due to end of the quarter reports that there will be a delay from most fund managers in treating redemptions even subscriptions may also have a lag before reflecting on your dash board but you will still get all interest accrued, so please be patient with them

Avoid redemption/subscription close to the end of a quarter unless you don't mind any delays

A lot is wrong with the emboldened statement. Aside from mortgage and business-expansion loans, try to avoid other types of loan.

One is meant to save to invest not borrow to do the same. And plan your spending/expenses so that you don't go about getting a loan to solve personal problems, the main reason a minimum of 6-month emergency fund savings is essential.

Covid-19 pandemic has shown us there is a clear difference between a consumer-loan dependent economy(USA) and one that is not(China). I pray the FED's money-printing machine does not run out of ink soon.

Like Dangote do save to invest, right?
See, if you see a venture, business or investment opportunity that can guarantee you a good ROI well above the loan rates, better go for it. A loan gives you the opportunity to invest zero naira in the actual sense and still make profit. Think about it.

What has Dangote got to do with this? Yes, wise people save to invest! Dangote is a business mogul, he sources for funds for business expansion through the capital market, bonds, commercial paper etc.

The emboldened in this clime? Nope! What happens if the business fails at inception? Nothing is guaranteed in the business/investment world. Rather, start the business/venture with your funds(or borrow from family members) and when it becomes profitable you can then approach a financial institution for a loan. What you stated is the reason most young start-ups get burnt in the business world.

In summary, start small with your own funds. When the business becomes promising, get a loan to expand!

Dont use loans for consumption, but use loans for Investments or self liquidating assets like real estate

Oga Emma, please is the VGIF fund daily return calculated using simple or compound interest?

Secondly, how can someone check the daily accrued interest of previous days. It seems the online platform only shows the total sum of the accrued interest.

Thank you

Thank you

The interest is earned daily by simply interest and it's compounded when u decide to reinvest your interest at d end of every six month.
So if you picked reinvest option, the accrued interest from the day you join till June 30th would have be reinvested July 1st so the capital plus that interest becomes the new principal and it goes on and on (compounding)

You can see daily accrued interest when you check the fund statement after you login. The principal is clearly separated from the interest and the interest changes daily while the principal only changes when you top up or your interest is reinvested.

You are welcome. Yes mutual fund is a trusted investment and we have different types of mutual fund and various fund managers.
I will recommend Vantage Gurranteed income fund VGIF managed by investment one (former GTBank asset management) for you. It gives Gurranteed 7.5% per annum current with some extras depending on fund's profit.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Whenever I log in, I only see the total accrued interest as at today. I don’t get to see the previous accrued daily interest like a schedule. I hope you get my question.

That is how the system is designed. If you wish to know the amount added, just note the current accrued interest and by the next day you can get the difference and with that you know the amount added daily.

Example: The amount added is the 7.5% of your current principal prorated to a day. ie if you have 1m as principal that gives 75,000 a year interest which translate to 75000/366 which is 204.92 a day interest. So the 204.92 will be added daily till you have a different principal and principal changes only when you top up, reinvest your accrued interest or when you redeem part of your funds.

N.B: the 366 is used because the current year is leap year otherwise it's 365.
