Well I just mentioned an opportunity in farming or agricultural industry where CBN is trying to support . I am sure thier are others . Yet these same youths of Nigeria would complain.

You are also not understanding my point.
I did not say that the western world is heaven on earth that works for ALL its people.
Nor did I say that no-one can achieve anything in Nigeria.

My point is that Nigeria fails MOST of its people and hence life is better in developed countries that give more people a better chance.

Anyone returning to live in Nigeria from oversea should have a minimum of 250m naira in liquid and fixed assets. You don't need billions to live a good life in Nigeria. If you can earn a minimum of 500k/700k monthly in Nigeria, that should be enough to give you a comfortable life.

Sorry i disagree with you... that amount monthly can only sustain your immediate fam
Once you flex for 4 weekends in a month plus VAT charges from extended family... you go dey "comfor...without the "table"

Well like I always say

For most Nigerians

Whether they are based abroad or Nigeria

They will remain lower class economically

So the choice is between being a working class person abroad
Or being a working class person in Nigeria

You get me?

For people like us

We have more options and elbow room

Which in turn gives us the option of choice

Relocating to Nigeria with tens of millions in your kitty

Or relocating abroad with tens of millions in your kitty

Your standard of living wont take a significant downturn spiral

So for those who are coming back to Nigeria to grab opportunities

Please come back to do so
If you can

But for a working class person

Living a working class life in say Canada

You want to jump into naija
With no cushion

You go hear am

You are better off there

That's how I see it sha

When you say "youths of Nigeria" it sounds like the same putdown Buhari used.

I agree that our general warped mentality especially when it comes to white collar employment might hold many back from exploring some of these avenues.

But many others are exploring them. I know many who are.
And in some cases it works, and in others they come up against obstacles of doing business in Nigeria.

Some pages back we discussed our experiences with human resources and large-scale farming in Nigeria for instance.

We all have different backgrounds. I don't have extended families that get VAT from me, everybody is averagely okay.

Some don't even have parents they send monthly stipends to, if you make the mistake of sending money to them, they will retaliate by sending twice the amount to your children.

I'm not saying that there are not such schools in Nigeria

And I'm not underating or over rating anyone

What I'm saying
Is that

A man who is earning 500k in Nigeria after a stint abroad with wife and kids cannot send his three kids to a school commensurate with what is obtainable abroad

You are earming more than 500k a month
That's for sure

You know it
And I do

If that was not the case

How will you pay house rent and utilities and other Bill's plus school fees of three kids on N6m per annum

Nwanne it will not work

People live comfortably far less than that. Cut your coat according to your size.

It’s not compulsory you live in Lagos or Abuja. We have Ibadan, ekiti, kwara, Akwa ibom and ebonyi with very relatively low cost of living. You can still get very good high school in those places with 200k per year( first and second term)

You don’t need hundreds of millions to relocate, you just need planning. Since you are not coming to show off or in competition with anyone.

If you can’t find happiness abroad and you feeling like stranger, it’s better to relocate.

Life is not always about accumulation of wealth but being happy and being around people or things that augment to your happiness.

I see

I was looking at it as a Lagos born, raised anx based person

N6m wont cut it for you in Lagos o

N12m to N15m per annum income is more like it

And
In my personal case

I'm actually raising money to leave permanently

As I dont feel at home here in Naija

Anyone who is feeling the way I feel
But is abroad

Should raise funds and come back to Nigeria

Living a life of unhappiness is not good at all

Why would you prefer a boarding school for your children in Switzerland?

That's because some of the boarding schools there are the most exclusive in the world. The calibre of people who attend those schools from across the world, the curriculum is solid, and the list goes on. As a side bonus, my kids get to learn multiple Eurpoean languages (French, German, Italian) in addition to say English that they will know already. Learning chinese and/or Russian wont be a bad side bonus too.

That's my dream for my kids
It's a tall order cos the fees are expensive
But If I cam afford it by then
No question. That's where they are going.

So what informed your decision to ask whether I'm prudent financially?

I did not take offence o

Well said

But when you are only one in your immediate family that has made some millions

You are not exactky in a position to create more millionaires (Naira millionaires lol)

That's why at least paying school fees/vocational fees/ skill acquisition fees could be a good step towards teaching someone how to fish

As opposed to always giving someone fish

You till do not get what I am trying to tell you. The USA wey u mention na my backyard here them dey. A lot of poor black Americans are living an awful life even with government intervention , why do u think they go into drugs ? My brother the grass is not always green on the other side. U are to be a solutions provider not problem analyzer. Issues are everywhere. Look for a problem u can solve and boom find a solution to it. I am aware the government in Nigeria is trying to support SMEs with funds especially in the farming and agricultural industry, take position if u can or if its something that interest who knows we can be business partner exporting food products for our nigerian population here in canada. Think business growth not government or problems.

If I may voice my opinion on this........ I believe the Black race is the least open to SOCIAL ENGINEERING and to some extent Its a big Advantage as the only tool of control of the black mass is PURE force or Disinformation...........While we all give solutions to Nigerias problem,The assumption is usually that You are the leader dishing out instructions............ I beg to ask,how good are you at taking Instructions especially for the common Good even if it is at your own disadvantage.......

Those that have ran businesses have had a glimpse of what I am saying................The average black soul is programmed to stay alive for another day and seriously that can never build a society

Speaking generally for mmfs, your capital is Safe. But your interest is not Gurranteed. It's basically dependent on the state of Tbills In d country. Whether it's AXA, ibtc, Fbnquest or my own investment one they all have same features. Though some mmf rates slightly higher than the other they are all within the same region 4.2 to 5%
N. B: Generally if the mutual fund is balanced or equity based, there is possibility you can lose your capital. Be well guided.

Thanks bro.

Please, how do I know the ones that are equity based. I just want to be sure my capital will be intact even if the interest is not guaranteed

On a general note, most mutual funds are named base on the under laying assets. They always have terns like equity, balance etc attached, even if such terms are not added in their nomenclature, by reading the facts of the fund or prospectus of the fund you will know by looking at the various percentages of the fund invested in various underlaying asset. You can call if you have any other clarifications. My contact is on signature.
