kheny12:The person is probably just an unexposed teenager talking trash online for likes. People living in Ikoyi live a more luxurious lifestyle than 80% of Germans, Americans, Canadians etc doesn't matter the so called advance country. |

Rossikk: Ignorance is a bliss. Those small buildings you posted are called, "Tiny houses". It's not necessarily an indication of poverty, it's for those into "sustainability living". Berlin is the hippie capital of Germany and those buildings are quite common. Even in München, considered a bit conservative, you find those tiny buildings in places like Moosach which is clean and beautiful. And for poverty. The definition of poverty in Germany and that in Nigeria is not the same brother.... Germany is a socialist/welfarist country, the rich (which they don't lack at all) are taxed so much so that no poor person will be homeless by lack of choice. The poorest of the poor is at least entitled to a shelter. Either ways, the govt consider that one is living in poverty if one doesn't earn up to 1000 euros monthly.. how many people earn 1000 euros (500k) monthly in Nigeria? Those earning this much are probably the ones living in your Lekkis and Ikoyi right? Sometimes, how you define poverty and wealth differs... You see a very rich man ridding bicycle here, it doesn't mean they don't have a car or may be afford one, trust me, that's the cheapest thing here, but you see for the sake of the "environment", they would rather ride a bike or and use the subway if necessary. Sustainably and a clean environment is of utmost importance... Now to the "poor beggars" on the street. Many are there by choice. The Roma people, and other ethnic groups from eastern Europe would rather sleep on the road and beg than accept govt benefits and housing. That's their choice. If they are citizens and go to govt, there is always some type of schemes that covers them. The crisis of asylum seekers is a matter for another day... You cannot really count them since they are not yet regarded as part of the society, especially the ones whose status are yet to be reviewed. It's a different politics entirely. 3 Likes |

True No matter how they position the camera, the quality comes out the same. This is what people waste their money on in the bid to live in Ikoyi. The whole picture looks dingy Skyfornia: |

pocohantas: True. I would be wary if a young guy tells me he his living in Ikoyi, it has to be that his parents are very wealthy, Even established G Boys prefer Chevron Estate & Co. One Rich guy & 7 other guys still learning Yahoo+ hanging around him, with different Oloshos visiting. I really hate the mention of Ikoyi Old Money, a lot of those people are Retired Brigadier and Major generals who embezzled so much during the Military regime & you cannot trace their source of wealth, most of the houses have no occupiers. Many mansions are empty. That is where you will find apartments stock pilled with 42 Million dollars physical cash. Nothing sweeting me about Old Money abeg, make dem do die quick! |

truthsayer009: Na you type this kind thing? Lmao. Never knew the old money stuff is popular, that was my own first time of hearing it sef. Why would you be wary na? Come to think of it, what is it about Ikoyi that makes it uncomfortable for those yahoo boys. It is beautiful and expensive too. So, why not? Jornwhite, what do you think? |

youthsinitiativ:I will advise u to save ur money n leave this country. A million youth can fight the govt, they control the army and police. Just take a look at sowore revolution now protest. The only other way is to form a rebel group that will fight the govt like what happened in Libya. And such group most have international backings n strong sponsors. |
