Lawrence Agada, an Assistant Pastor in Christ Embassy with the Lagos Sheraton Hotels and Towers, donated cash and gifts worth N39 million to the Church. He bought a 250KVA generator valued at N4.4 million, and another 27KVA generator for NI.5 million and turned them over to a satellite arm of the church.

Earlier, he had provided N6 million for the refurbishment of the branch, N1 million for the purchase of plastic seats for the headquarters and contributed another N1million to Oyakhilome’s crusade tagged Night Of Bliss. Agada also gave N400,000 to his pastor, who needed money for a trip to Australia.

Happy that Agada had obeyed the teaching on seed sowing, Oyakhilome wrote a personal letter to commend the cheerful giver. “May God, who gives seed to the sower and bread for eating, multiply your seeds in Jesus name,” wrote the preacher.

But Jesus did not multiply Agada’s seeds. Instead, the giver became a guest of the police when his employers discovered that he had stolen from them to give to Christ Embassy. Agada’s employers demanded a refund of the stolen sum. However, Christ Embassy issued a statement admitting that Agada made donations but shamelessly refused to make the desired refund.

A church member is jobless or has no verifiable source of income. But he pays in a hefty sum of amount into the church as his tithe (10 percent of income ).

Should a church ask him the source of money or just regard it as God's blessings?
"Father, let all protocols, rules and criteria be suspended, overlooked and over-ruled as You did for Joseph, in order for me to promoted, in Jesus name" G. O Adeboye.
Could so called man of God who said this inquire about source of his tithe payer income.?

So how did he get the money if he has no source of income?.....is he a kidnapper etc?......

Do churches mind/ask how you get your money? They are only concern is how much you bring by constantly putting it on you

Don't bother yourself with this question.
Whatever Yakubu Dogara donated to Winner Chapel is part of stolen wealth from our treasury likewise whatever our Senators, REPs, ministers governors and state assembly members donated to the church is part of stolen wealth from state and national treasuries.

How many do they want to investigate. As a normal business person, do you investigate the source of income of your customers??
Re: Is It Proper For A Church To Ask A Member The Source Of His Tithe? by Nobody: 9:36am On Aug 02, 2020
That would be the proper thing to do.

But which pastor will reject money these days when most of them are only in the business because of the money and not the "salvation of souls"?

You just one of the biggest questions that the answer is one of the reasons paying tithe is not preach by Jesus. Jesus never pay tithe because it's a law that is not perfect. Jesus brought grace and not law. Any Christian paying tithe is operating under the law and must fulfil all other laws like not shaving beard.

The best ways to do it is to always preach against unlawful earning in the Church and make it cleared that tithes from such earning are not acceptable by God. Also it should be placed on Church Notice board boldly that tithes from non born again are not accepted by God . I bet you , most pastors can't do this because their income and gifts will drop drastically.

My question is this: "how did they know he's jobless?

Any money(the profit you make daily) should be calculated at the end of the month, then 10% should be for tithe.
Regardless of where it's coming from, a Yahoo boy that made 100 million should bring his 10m.
It's obvious it's all about d money

All these unnecessary and senseless debate, so if someone puts money in the church, the pastor should call the person and ask, where did u get this money from?

Yes. It is proper as certain people's tithes desecrate the temple of God.

Eg, tithes from killers , thieves , prostitutes, scammers etc.

Its proper, Peter did

Act5:7-9
About three hours later his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 8 Peter asked her, “Tell me, is this the price you and Ananias got for the land?”

“Yes,” she said, “that is the price.”

9Peter said to her, “How could you conspire to test the Spirit of the Lord
? Listen! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also.”

Back in 1996, someone I know paid a tithe of N100,000 as a student. Two days later, the campus pastors came calling, requesting to know how a student like her was able to pay such money. They asked for receipts of sales, and other proof of income. It was only when they were satisfied that the source was genuine that she was allowed to testify about it.

But this was a student fellowship. In a church with membership running into hundreds of thousands or millions of people, it is impracticable to do this, although periodically the church accountants should go through statements and flag large tithe payments for periodic scrutiny.

God loves a cheerful giver. Tithing is good but should not be emphasized above salvation, if the people understand the gospel truly, there would be no need for such emphasis undecided
