Aside that, the Kiosk is also used for selling all sorts of items, attracting the wrong crod to the front of the house.
Why is it so difficult to even open gate by ourself sef?
Use motorised gate if you dont want to come down and open your Gate.
Umaru is going back to Katsina, from tomorrow. grin

NB: Please dont quote me again, l am not a gateman and l have running stomach already. grin

Drink agbo.
It will cure your runny stomach

The odds of a motorized gate being damaged by residents is high, unless its a big boy compound with few users/ apartments.

2ndly 247 power is still a luxury, unless solar is involved

Very impressive...

Folks are out there advancing technologically, we are still using mallam to dig borehole by hand.. people are still manually digging foundation for a housing project...

Oh , it is well!!
They have gone very far ahead technologically, every move is always about more job creation for more welders, builders, technicians, transportation, materials dealers etc, that's why there's job after school and school dropout alike. Every year the always find ways to expand to accommodate more people.

Do we have them here in Nigeria right now?
If yes, I need a contact.
Thanks.

And again, this technology could knock off a lot of iron/structural guys out of work.

I don't know if they are available in Nigeria,
Not really, the iron and structural guy will be trained to do the job in the factory, when changes are made the group of people affected are trained and absorbed to drive the new system, it's all win win situation.

None of these is a problem.

As a matter of fact, I can give 100% money back guarantee on motorized gate operators.

I’ve never had to top even the gear oil in 9 years and the only time I had to replace its battery was when we stopped using it for about 4 years.

The 650VA battery equipped with the operator will power the gate for more than 48 hours.

These are common practices in the west....may not be feasible for small naija builders...additional cost of hiring cranes or lifts ...celsa steel very popular in Scandinavian region

There are daily lift or crane hire if you want to move heavy materials up, I think the use of steel mat or steel net for concrete or decking work is feasible for small builders and could save them time.
Materials dealers need embrace new system of building procedures to make it a common practice in Nigeria.

Wheew! My niece and nephews do go out of state for robotics competition.. this kids are 12 -14 years old, their school even traveled to Japan to compete. I was quite mesmerized when I attended one of their events.. I couldn't believe little kids that young could put things like that together...

But in 9ja a final year student or even graduate student could put two pans together with a wheel barrow tire and aye yeah!! They built a car grin

Our government are nose deep in oil.. politicians empower youths with goats, sewing machine and Keke napep.

That Old Nigeria is long gone. There are lots of robotics lab, tech hubs and incubators in Nigeria as of today.

Eg:

Sillicon Valley - Nigeria Economic Development (SVNED Inc) https://www.svned.com

Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Nigeria (RAIN) in Ibadan.

CC-Hub and many others.

Osinbajo is pushing/championing that front.

We launched his tech hub about 2 years ago in Ibadan. The government is diversifying the economy already. It’s just that we have a president that do not understand what’s going on.

I’m confident there’s hope for Nigeria.

Lie lie !!! - as years passes by, quality of things continues to go south in Nigeria.

The Catholic Church in my village was built in 1949 using this kind of block. The exterior wall of the church looks like what you have there.

There are a lot of buildings with that kind of block in Aberdeen and all were not even painted. Built with blocks and windows installed.

From my findings the building was built around 1939. Just trying to figure out modifications for the building but contemplating where to get same type of blocks.

It's obvious from the pictures, the access road is higher than the foundation of the building.

Moral of the story (picture), ALL foundation should be four courses high from ground level as a minimum.

4 course will probably be the minimum. This is practically what happens whenever there is flood in the area. There are places where the flood water is at the chest level. Will post pix when I can.

This has been giving us issues for days now.. there is a plan for a commercial building, where atleast 10-15 machines will consume between 500kw-4000kw alongside some yet to be determined units of ACs.
The owners are thinking of buying two diesel gens (150kva), instead of using the national grid.
National grid can be expensive/irregular and machines will.need to run for atleast 10 hours daily.

Pls advice

That’s why they put them in incubation hubs/centers where there’s unlimited access to the bolded above and good funding.

We can’t wait any longer so the focus is more on the Gen-Z right now.

It’s a meter connected directly to the transformer. It’s not the regular meter sold off shelf.

Energy consumption awareness is key to reduce your energy costs and improve energy efficiency on your machines and electrical appliances.

The meter is connected directly to you transformer installation reading your exact consumption. It’s not an energy reducing device.

So my advice is to use alternative power supply for energy hungry machines in your property.
I always use generator for my washing and pumping machine and also use it to run the Air Condition units only at night. I hardly spend 5k - 6k in 2 months on energy consumption.

Check https://www.ikejaelectric.com/energy-consumption-domestic-appliances/

_______
I once lived in a commercial building in Lagos and the landlord told me “Bro your electricity bill is 10,000 per month. I always pay 50,000 every month to Eko Distribution blah blah...”

I told him to install a meter in my flat and leave me to handle my energy consumption.

I wish I could find a propane powered water heater since it’s my experience that they’re more efficient at that duty. No scientific proof just a hunch. But we move, no time.

I went the instant water heater (Ariston Pronto Neo) way jejely.

Traditional water heaters take time to reach preferred temperatures, thus wasting energy.

I’ve not explored the option of a solar water heater though but I’ve heard about DC water heaters.

_______
Some of our people are the reason why diasporas keep abusing us grin

All these alternative options are out there but they’ll only be here to advertise and not to share knowledge. Instant and Tankless water heaters have been here for over decade and we don’t get to hear much about them.
