I thought they said it was on Rivers state that there is kidnappings in Nigeria. How come the golden ekiti has kidnapping. Nobody will cry ekiti of blood like you say rivers of blood and even people that don't live in rivers state type rubbish on nairaland.
My point is this, there is insecurity in Nigeria. Don't make a particular state or region look more insecure than the other for economic gain. Lagos is more insecure than Rivers and many states in Nigeria apart from Bornu and Zamfara for obvious reasons.
Let us hold our government accountable for a nation that is falling apart due to economy induced criminality. People are hungry. You can imagine some criminals with 100million, their Christmas don set and they will be emboldened to glorify the crime. Government and Buhari should tell themselves truth and not play politics with our collective national interests.

This huge ransome is what motivates other touts to go into kidnapping

100m?!
It'll definitely encourage some amateurs

But these one are no touts. Pulling this off requires a well organized collaborated efforts with some officers of the Nigerian Police Force

Moving 100m in cash from bank is not routine

Don't be too quick to blame Nigeria or our leaders for every evil news you hear about Nigeria. The kidnappers re the useless ones not the country. Yes, the economy is bad, our leaders re selfish but re these enough reasons to venture into kidnapping & even killing innocent souls? Common!
the purpose of government is to curb anarchy , to create a system that allows even and proportionate distribution of resources ... when the government fails and reserves economic anarchy to itself while forcing others to stay on a never ending queue, total anarchy begin to raise its head ... heaven keep us safe , the anarchists are about to take over ... that is the real problem staring at us , and when you can't beat them you may have no choice but to join their ideology .. heaven show us mercy and keep this country from self destruction...

Things like this affect the country and prevents foreign investors to come into the country to invest, but our greedy politicians will not tackle insecurity once and for all, just because of the ties they have with these criminals, they feel handicapped to do the needful... one day the issue of “I put you in office, so do as I say“ will definitely come to an end.

Where are the useless Amotekun when you need them ? How could these fulani militia men be operating freely and unchecked in our land ?

There is no government in this country, people should just make provisions for their own security.

Shame on you Buhari ! You're a useless fulani man.

lalasticlala:

But when contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Ekiti state ASP Sunday Abutu confirmed the release of the Chinese expatriate but denied any payment of ransom.

He revealed that the release was made possible after a serious manhunt launched on the kidnappers by security operatives.

“Yes, he was released after a serious manhunt and pressure from the security operatives around Ilawe-Igede at about 11:30 pm yesterday (Tuesday).”

He assured residents that the command would continue to do everything possible to ward off all criminal elements from the state and ensure maximum security of lives and property.

Lol.. this news too funny.. I'm curious as to how the criminals would wash clean 100M and not raise a red flag if some highly placed individuals weren't in on this.
bro honestly when u ask this u give undue credit to the rotten system we have in nigeria....that money doesn't need washing because our system here is not functional to detect things like this most of the time

Police go collect their share that's why they don't like victims mentioning d ransom paid.

Why is it that at every kidnapping case, police will be urging you to cooperate and pay d ransom that after regaining freedom, they will investigate. The investigation won't yeild any reasonable outcome and if u continue pestering them, they will be saying u should let a sleeping dog lie so u won't be kidnapped again.
