congratulations. i have been able to complete my Visa application. I however noticed that when applying for my dependant, the IHS fee that the system is calculating is lesser than mine.Is this normal? The system asked for my visa expiry date for my dependant's application and since i do not have a visa yet ,we used my course end date.is this the right thing to do and why is their IHS fee lesser than mine? Please advice. What date did you input as your visa expiry date when applying for your dependants?

Pick the location that is closestto you. What might be the best now, might be the best when you have booked.

The scholarship funds are insufficient. The student, your girlfriend, has to show £1,023 monthly * 9 months for maintenance (excluding fees which should already be covered by the scholarship) while you as the dependant, will need to show £680 monthly * 9 months. You'll have to support the scholarship letter with your bank statement showing the cost deficit for at least 28 days prior to your application.

Also, for you to apply as her dependant, you will need to provide variety of documents to prove that you've lived together and that you've been in a genuine relationship for the last 2 years. This usually includes and isn't limited to, joint account statement, joint utility bills, account statements showing that your addresses are the same, driver's licence showing both of you as living at the same address, evidence of things you've paid for together, and joint tenancy agreement amongst other documents.
A cover letter detailing how you met and your relationship specifics is also advised to enable the ECO understand the relationship in relation to your application. Each case using this approach will be treated on a case by case basis.

In my opinion, you'll be better off joining her as a married partner as proving that you've been in a genuine relationship (in this context) in a country like Nigeria is usually difficult because it's not commonplace for partners to pay jointly for bills, rent and the likes. This makes it difficult to get the required documents to prove this.

Is there any reason why you aren't committed enough to marry her but committed enough to travel with her? Are you making the application in order to circumvent the student visa rules after you arrive the UK? Sorry if these questions seem intrusive but these are some of the likely questions that will likely occur to the ECO seeing as there's a large pool of Nigerian applicants and in most cases, this kind of situation isn't the norm among Nigerian visa applicants.

Thank you for your response.

She and I are planning on getting married before we apply for our visas. We have been together for over two years, prior to her Master's degree sef. There is absolutely no ill motive about this. I have been a huge part of and offered immeasurable academic assistance in her study.
With the visa rules, I feel discouraged, honestly. I don't have a job yet and I recently finished my undergraduate degree last year. Although babe is heading to her PhD. It's been just us against the academic world out there.

I don't know how we could come up convincing enough to show that I would be supported as sort of the scholarship value, if that would suffice of if I may be rejected on that ground.

We're at the crossroads.

My dear Ikeja tls has been my desired location because it’s the nearest location. People who have gone there recently have actually been complaining and regretting choosing Ikeja tls. Hence my change of choice.

It to find the money .... UK doesnt do long story their Visa is point based. Meet the financial requirements for you and dependent in your proof of funds then you are good to go

If there is no sufficient fund in account based on the set amount , then UK there no room for convincing story

They didn't give me any discounts in their offer. It was after some days when I accepted another school's offer that Edinburgh Napier University informed me that there might be a 2k discount.

How please Michellez. Which school did you get ?

I did my tb test before getting CAS coz I was sure I was gonna get the admission. You will need to write the address of the school or where you will be residing in UK on the TB biometrics form.

Leebido:
So quick question . Can I book appointment for my TB test before I make payment for my CAS ? Or I must have my CAS ready before I do TB TEST ??

Choose VI, yes you might pay £55 user fee, but it’s less crowdy, walk in applicants on Monday was like 10 or so, I’m hearing it’s in 50+ in ikeja

Thank you. Maybe I should just choose Abuja. Do I still have to pay the £55?

If you check online school guideline it states that IHS is paid for the total length of your Tier 4 visa, not just for the length of your course...... so plus the extra 4 months which is the actual length of the Visa. So even the dependent should be calculated this way

However I seen several comments here were people said they put the date based on length of course / course end date (so not including the extra 4 months)

I personally cannot SAY which is the right or wrong . The first is based on directions I see on schools website and the second is comments I see here. If it was my application then I definitely follow the first which is on several school website guidelines

What if the fund isn't up to the required amount but there is a sustainable flow of money into the account, does it mean I may be denied?

Yes, the application will be denied if the funds are less than what you require.
The student visa requirement is different from visit visa requirements, it's not concerned with activity or inflow into an account.
The money required has to be in the account for at least 28 days before an application is submitted online and if this rule is not met, it's an auto refusal.

if u are going for 12 months course, your dependant will be 16months i.e 12 + the extra four months on the visa
