totit: You may be lost but I'm not. This entire conversation is a spin off from the one initially started based on the "aba-made" stats posted by Sarrki with the sole aim of showing the SE as the least productive region, which both the "aba-made" stats and your "reliable" stats have debunked. 1 Like |

totit: This data that you now discount is the sole reason for this thread and other associated conversations this week. A user named Sarrki post these stats quoting the same source you now discard and you all jumped on it because it said SE had the lowest IGR, hence productivity. I countered that based on the elementary of IGR and you then try to step over the point. If we go by stats you provided after the fact, then NE had the lowest IGR and productivity in 2018 and the NW had the next lowest productivity so the assertion that SE is the least productive region is still invalidated. If the stats Sarrki posted are inaccurate, then why was it fit for purpose and his source not questioned as long as it furthered an agenda. You are the one attempting to be clever (by half) 1 Like |

plaindealer: And you believe employment opportunities, industries, leveraging natural resources etc that I mentioned previously are independent of quality of leadership? Or you didn't quite comprehend? Fact is, Lagos has has a head start in these areas over other states. I don't know enough about Ogun State. 1 Like |

totit: Like I said, I based my analysis on the most recent stats that got you all excited going by which Ogun state's revenue could not be more than that of the SE. Based on the data the site you provided, Ogun allegedly generated more than the SE in Q4 2018. However, the SE despite it's clear disadvantages, was not still not least productive in that quarter. 1 Like |

totit: plaindealer: Ogun generating more revenue than the SE is highly doubtful given that the report you based your comparison on shows SW IGR to be 877.8 billion with Lagos generating 501.2 billion of that amount. Unless you are saying Ondo, Osun, Ekiti and Oyo states generated a combined total less than 35 billion, there's no way Ogun generated more than 340.1 billion which is the revenue allegedly generated by the SE in the post quoted below. sarrki: 1 Like |

totit:Highly doubtful totit: Stats from here based on Census 2006 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nigerian_states_by_population The wikipedia page references a document from population.gov.ng The SE is actually the least populated region in Nigeria. I've seen many SW commenters on here claim that there are more Igbos outside of the SE than there are in the SE so it would follow that Igbos contribute more to the IGR of other regions than to that of the SE; that's besides the point however. IGR comes from income, sales, taxes, fines etc. Workforce, employment opportunities, natural resources, industries contribute to these sources of revenue. SE is pulling its weight despite being disadvantaged in all (arguably) of the indices above. 2 Likes |

I read the silly comments about SE's IGR with amusement; Nigerians are on average too unintelligent to evaluate factors that have an impact on IGR or to evaluate anything at all. In the absence of data relating to political and economic factors, demographics etc for each region and assuming a uniform distribution of tax eligible jobs and businesses, doing the basic math based on population would reveal that SE generated the 3rd highest revenue per person after SS and SW or 2nd highest after SS if Lagos was excluded from the SW's computation. NC Population - 20,368,918, IGR - 378.7b Per person - 18,592.95 NE Population - 18,984,299 IGR - 351b Per person - 18,515.30 NW Population - 35,915,467 IGR - 546.5 Per person - 15,216.29 SE Population - 16,395,555 IGR - 340.1b Per person - 20,743. 43 SS Population - 20,320,869 IGR - 1102b Per person - 54,229.86 SW Population - 27,722,432 IGR - 877.8b Per person - 31,663. 89 Population (excluding Lagos) - 18,608,827 IGR (excluding Lagos) - 376.6b Per person - 20,237.71 Clearly the SE isn't the least productive region. 5 Likes |

VeryConcerned: Men also develop breast cancer. Make sure to get your symptoms thoroughly investigated at the hospital; and get a second opinion regardless of the initial diagnosis. All the best. Overview Male breast cancer is a rare cancer that forms in the breast tissue of men. Though breast cancer is most commonly thought of as a disease that affects women, breast cancer does occur in men. Male breast cancer is most common in older men, though it can occur at any age. Men diagnosed with male breast cancer at an early stage have a good chance for a cure. Treatment typically involves surgery to remove the breast tissue. Other treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy, may be recommended based on your particular situation. Symptoms Signs and symptoms of male breast cancer can include: A painless lump or thickening in your breast tissue Changes to the skin covering your breast, such as dimpling, puckering, redness or scaling Changes to your nipple, such as redness or scaling, or a nipple that begins to turn inward Discharge from your nipple When to see a doctor Make an appointment with your doctor if you have any persistent signs or symptoms that worry you. Causes It's not clear what causes male breast cancer. Doctors know that male breast cancer occurs when some breast cells divide more rapidly than healthy cells do. The accumulating cells form a tumor that may spread (metastasize) to nearby tissue, to the lymph nodes or to other parts of the body. Where breast cancer begins in men Everyone is born with a small amount of breast tissue. Breast tissue consists of milk-producing glands (lobules), ducts that carry milk to the nipples, and fat. During puberty, women begin developing more breast tissue, and men do not. But because men are born with a small amount of breast tissue, they can develop breast cancer. Types of breast cancer diagnosed in men include: Cancer that begins in the milk ducts (ductal carcinoma). Nearly all male breast cancer is ductal carcinoma. Cancer that begins in the milk-producing glands (lobular carcinoma). This type is rare in men because they have few lobules in their breast tissue. Other types of cancer. Other, rarer types of breast cancer that can occur in men include Paget's disease of the nipple and inflammatory breast cancer. Inherited genes that increase breast cancer risk Some men inherit abnormal (mutated) genes from their parents that increase the risk of breast cancer. Mutations in one of several genes, especially a gene called BRCA2, put you at greater risk of developing breast and prostate cancers. If you have a strong family history of cancer, discuss this with your doctor. Your doctor may recommend that you meet with a genetic counselor in order to consider genetic testing to see if you carry genes that increase your risk of cancer. Risk factors Factors that increase the risk of male breast cancer include: Older age. The risk of breast cancer increases as you age. Male breast cancer is most often diagnosed in men in their 60s. Exposure to estrogen. If you take estrogen-related drugs, such as those used for hormone therapy for prostate cancer, your risk of breast cancer is increased. Family history of breast cancer. If you have a close family member with breast cancer, you have a greater chance of developing the disease. Klinefelter's syndrome. This genetic syndrome occurs when boys are born with more than one copy of the X chromosome. Klinefelter's syndrome causes abnormal development of the testicles. As a result, men with this syndrome produce lower levels of certain male hormones (androgens) and more female hormones (estrogens). Liver disease. Certain conditions, such as cirrhosis of the liver, can reduce male hormones and increase female hormones, increasing your risk of breast cancer. Obesity. Obesity is associated with higher levels of estrogen in the body, which increases the risk of male breast cancer. Testicle disease or surgery. Having inflamed testicles (orchitis) or surgery to remove a testicle (orchiectomy) can increase your risk of male breast cancer. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/male-breast-cancer/symptoms-causes/syc-20374740 1 Like |

PharoahIII: Your analysis appears to be in direct conflict with your conclusion. You stated story-telling is the more difficult literary style, and you declared Chinua Achebe to be the greater story-teller of the two; then you proceed to choose Wole Soyinka, who is master of the relatively easy literary style, in a debate about who's better. How does that make sense? 2 Likes |
