Car Talk / Was Your Car Submerged In The Flood? Hop In Here Immediately!! by stolenstone: 6:07pm On Jul 17, 2021
If your vehicle is in that flood and you havent started your engine. Don’t start it!!!!!!!

Even if the vehicle is submerged and the water goes down. It’s likely water has made its way into the engine. The first thing to do is open your engine air filter and check for moisture. If it’s moist or damp, DO NOT CRANK THAT VEHICLE!!! DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START IT. .

Allow the water go down, tow it away if possible. Get your mechanic to drain the engine oil immediately. Also drain the transmission fluid. Do not take the risk of trying to drive that vehicle.

Let the mechanic disconnect the fuel sending unit ( fuel pump), pull out the spark plugs one after the other and then crank the engine. You want to make sure water in each cylinder is blown out of the engine by the compression / exhaust stroke.

Once completed for all the cylinders. Connect the fuel pump ( easiest way is to remove the relay or the fuse ) and start the vehicle. It may idle rough. Leave it. Do not rev it. Allow that vehicle idle for some 30 minutes

Once it’s up to operating temperature, ( because you have replaced your transmission fluid ) engage the gears one after the other. From P to R wait 5 seconds R to N wait another 5 seconds N to D wait again. D to N again N to R and R to Park. After this. You can drive.

Personally once I get the vehicle going again, I’d replace both fluids after another week or two depending on how milky they look. Be safe everyone. Happy motoring.

Health / Re: Nursing Mothers And Kids Forcefully Evicted From Lagos Teaching Hospital (video) by stolenstone: 8:34pm On Nov 26, 2020
Re: The Viral Video (LUTH RESPONSE)

The attention of LUTH management has been drawn to a video posted online by a lady to malign our Hospital. The video is a total misrepresentation of the event that happened yesterday.

This video was posted by a social media-obsessed individual who hid her face.

Yesterday, 25th November 2020, we had some challenges with the place where mothers stay. This place also houses a Crèche attached to it. We needed to evacuate the Crèche to create more space for mothers to stay. Our Neonatologists and hospital management have even syndicated some money to improve and expand the place for the comfort of mothers.

There was a challenge during the evacuation of the Crèche, the attention of LUTH management was called to this. The CMAC, Head of Neonatology Unit and her team members went immediately to the place to clarify issues.

The Cretche was evacuated and the mothers were left in the building.

The lady who posted the video and other mothers *were aware *of the efforts of the Management. It was therefore a surprise to see the video online.

The people the lady captured in her video had nothing to do with the event she reported. She was aware that the issue was well managed by LUTH management within 15 minutes.

It is unfortunate that an individual will go this extent, taking advantage of the unmitigated freedom afforded by the social media age to smear the LUTH name even though, her baby was successfully treated till discharge in the same Hospital.

The newly refurbished, wide corridor, with blue polycarbonate roof shown in the video was colonized by visiting relations of parents of children in nearby children’s Wards and Children’s Emergency Centre. Some bring as many as 4-7 relatives visiting and they crowd the place. LUTH and nobody has ever been allocated a corridor for anyone to stay. We however don’t drive those who hold court there, despite the inconveniences they cause to other users of the walkway.

We remain committed to the provision of health care services to our numerous patients and thank our committed healthcare workers for their dedication to duty.

Startling discoveries about Abia state revenue and yet they cant pay salaries or pension. Meanwhile see what his colleague is doing in Ebonyi state. Smh
RE: OUR POSITION ON PARASTATALS SALARY ISSUES.

We read with utmost discontent the disgusting press release by the Abia State Commissioner for Finance, Mr Obinna Oriaku under the headline: Our Position on Parastatals Salary Issues, wherein, he callously tried to justify the malicious non-payment of salaries and pensions with nauseating excuses quoted with monotonous regularity without consideration for the workers’/pensioners susceptibilities.
Without prevarication, let's quickly draw the attention of Mr Oriaku to the breakdown of the 2018 budget he made to the Abia State House of Assembly.
The 2018 Abia State budget outlay of N140.9 billion known as the budget of “partnerships and opportunities" was made up of a Recurrent Expenditure of N68.4 billion (48.59%) and a Capital Expenditure of N72.4 billion (51.41%).
For proper understanding, Recurrent Expenditure consists mainly of expenditure on wages, salaries and supplements, purchases of goods and services and consumption of fixed capital. During the analysis, Oriaku gave the breakdown as follows:
• Personnel Costs (salaries/pensions) = N32.3 billion
• Overhead Costs (cost of running govt.) = N17.6 billion
• Consolidated Revenue Fund Charge = N18.4 billion
• TOTAL = N68.4 billion
On the Capital Expenditure (money spent by the government on maintaining fixed assets, such as roads, lands, buildings, and equipment), Oriaku said funds from the transfer from the Consolidated Revenue Fund and the Capital Receipts would be used to finance it. He gave the breakdown thus:
• Transfer from Recurrent Revenue = N11.6 billion
• Grant from Donor Agencies = N17.6 billion
• Internal Loans = N43 billion
• Other Capital Receipts = N223 million
• Total Capital Expenditure = N72.4 billion
Oriaku said the sum of N97.9 billion expected from the Federation Account, FAAC, (N50.9 billion), IGR N29.1billion and Capital Receipts (VAT) N17.9 billion would be used to finance the budget.
However, records from the Ministry of Finance revealed that the Abia State government received the net sum of N88.7 billion FAAC Allocation against N50.9 billion it estimated in the 2018 budget; this made it N37.8 billion surpluses.
Instead of making himself an object of critical opprobrium and odium, Oriaku should explain to Abians how the government failed to pay the civil servants and pensioners despite their wages effectively captured in the Recurrent Expenditure of the 2018 budget.
Having no projects to justify the N72.4 billion Capital Expenditure that included an internal loan of N43 billion, how come civil servants/pensioners are owed between 15 to 25 months’ salaries/pensions?
Mr Oriaku, in line with accountability which is one of the cardinal principals of democracy can you tell us how effectively and judiciously your government implemented the 2018 budget with the embarrassing salaries/pensions backlogs? You cannot deny the fact that the Abia State government has received the net sum of N20.8 billion as FAAC Allocation accrued to the state and its 17 LGAs in the first quarter of 2019 (January to March). What then is the reason for the wicked starvation of Abians?
Eric Hoffer posits that “No matter how noble the objectives of a government, if it blurs decency and kindness, cheapens human life, and breeds ill will and suspicion; it is an evil government.”
It is what your government represents. We can no longer watch your government continue to display this gross insensitivity towards the plight of our dying workers and frail pensioners. We give you a one-month ultimatum to offset these backlogs or risk having us besiege the Government House Umuahia in protest until this statutory obligation is respected. Enough of this insensitivity!
Signed
Don Norman Obinna
Convener, Abians for Good Governance.

Politics / 150 People Feared Dead In Abia Pipeline Explosion! by stolenstone: 6:38pm On Oct 15, 2018
Abia pipeline explosion: 150 dead; security operatives collected N1,000 from each person to scoop – Monarchs

By Anayo Okoli
UMUAHIA—THE death toll from last Friday’s Osisioma pipeline explosion in Abia is said to have risen to over 24, even as Eze Ikechukwu Chiavoghilefu, Chairman, Osisioma Local Government Traditional Rulers Council, put the figure at 150

This is just as another monarch accused security operatives of causing the disaster, as they were collecting money from the villagers that came to scoop fuel, instead of preventing them from entering the site.

According to Eze Chiavoghilefu, the number of casualties has been rising steadily, as, according to him, dozens of people that were badly burnt eventually died.

He specifically cited a particular health clinic, where about 70 victims were taken to after the incident happened on Friday, saying that in less than 24 hours over 30 of them died.

The monarch, who spoke when the Senator representing the area in the National Assembly, Chief Theodore Orji, visited the affected communities to sympathise with the victims, insisted that the death toll has risen to over 150.

N1,000 ‘gate pass’

According to the monarch, “about 70 persons were packed to the health clinic near my palace on the first day it happened. All of them are now dead. Up to 150 have so far died.”

He said their communities have been thrown into mourning as victims keep dying every day on account of the severe burns they sustained.

Another monarch, Eze Godswill Mgbarime of Umueze, one of the affected communities, also said so many of his subjects had died as a result of injuries they sustained from the explosion.

Eze Mgbarime blamed the disaster on security operatives who he said were collecting money from villagers that were coming to scoop fuel from a leaking pipeline, rather than stopping them from gaining access to the scene.

According to Eze Mgbarime, “when the leakage occurred, some security men arrived the place and, instead of doing their job, they were collecting N1,000 from each person that came to scoop fuel there.

“We learned that three of them also died when the fire started.”

Senator Orji

Speaking during the visit, Senator Orji called on the Federal Government to quickly direct the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, to move relief materials and medication to the affected communities, even as he lamented the level of devastation and tragedy caused by the explosion.

“I came and I have seen a lot of damage. So many lives were lost; houses and farmlands destroyed,” he lamented.

He expressed grief over the incident which he described as “a disaster of unimaginable magnitude.”

Senator Orji, who lamented the failure of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, to repair the leaky pipelines despite being duly notified, said it was negligence and called for investigation.

However, he noted, no excuse justifies the action of locals who were allegedly scooping fuel from the leaking pipes, considering the high risk involved.

Police story

Meanwhile, the Divisional Police Officer in the area, Mr. Obongoma Udosen, said 19 corpses were recovered from one of the scenes, four in another area, saying some of the victims had been moved to the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba.

Religion / Re: The Secret Behind MFM Fire Prayers And Why You Must Start Praying Them by stolenstone: 9:31am On May 06, 2018
Chris Nwabueze Ndu killed it with this piece.

Read and have sense.

.. He was told that his business is not doing well and his struggling in life is because of family/ancestral curses.

That his forefathers made some sacrifices and buried things that has been affecting his life...

He needs special deliverance!

Jesus died for your sin and resurrected over 1900 years ago, Your forefathers died less than 500 years ago. Blood of Jesus is older than your ancestors. But, Despite being a Christian for years,The sin of your ancestors is so powerful that it found its way to you.

The Hitler led Germany between 1936-1945 murdered 6 million Jews and millions of others in Europe. Germany is the richest Country in Europe as we speak. Ancestral curses have no hold on anyone there.

Descendants of those that ruled then are there living good lives despite the sins of their forefathers. People don't go to their houses to uproot charms buried by their ancestors.

USA is the richest country in the world. Slaves were chained from Africa to America and many were murdered and those that survived suffered and worked to death. The descendants of slave owners and mass murderers are living normal lives. The sins of their forefathers as bad as they were have no business with them.

Yet, An Igbo man is told that his forefathers were so bad that what they did years ago is holding their success.

Our forefathers have been lied against by jollof rice loving prophets just to cash in.
Of what use is your claim of being a Christian if you believe that you are being held captive by some things you don't even know?

That's how they go to families and plunge them into wars by accusing a family member of being responsible for the hardship of everyone there.

Before you invite anyone into your family home with shovels to dig out anything, Ask yourself if the power of God is capable of neutralising anything and rendering it powerless?
If the power of God can destroy evil powers wherever they are, Why are they desperate to come to your house and dig out something to show you?

Why are they always seeing things for you?

That's the game! Frighten you with failure and disasters and then in your panic, You do as you are told. Cook Jollof rice, Cash for prayers and after few gra-gra, they dig out something and everyone is excited.

Be a Christian and live like one.

The blood of Jesus that saved you from sin can deliver you from any evil connection.
Your feet stepping on those grounds will render anything there powerless.

You don't need magic, You don't need to pay anyone to save you from your ancestors.
The power is with you already.

Only in Nigeria we hear stuff like that simply because fear is tormenting many religious people. Your ancestors are not holding your success, Go and get yourself a job.
Hustle hard and get over it.

Let's not confuse the state sponsored hardship in Nigeria with ancestral curses.
If Nigeria improves and creates a welfare system where everyone is well looked after as it is in the West, You won't hear those rubbish.

I'm yet to hear anyone in England suffering from ancestral/generational curses despite what their ancestors did in Africa and other places in the world.
Stop the play.

The Jollof rice loving prophets are cashing in on the system.

Ana adịghị mma bụ uru ndi nze.
