Well we don't know if you are using your brain or it is cocaine that's using your brain

Nigeria is fast turning into Zimbabwe (year 2000-2007) situation under your nose 👃 and under your watch

If you truly care about this country, if you are a a son of the soil, if this country is truly your motherland and fatherland, you can retrace your steps and restore the people's trust, faith, on you

Kenya had a demonstration for 3 months yet their currency did not move in fact it stretched. Same thing the Ghanaian Cedis.

We talk production production production but these are not producing more than we are. How come our currency is on a free fall and their’s are on a fairly stable fall or even appreciating.

because the APC leaders we have had from 2015 to now are very dishonest, unfaithful and unpatriotic.

They will be busy giving excuse of Covid 19 impact, the war in Ukraine and Gaza, global recession as reason for the dead economy and currency when you ask them to account for the rapid devaluation of the naira.

Is it only Nigeria these events affected?

Very interesting video, really. I've talked to several people in Nigeria this past week and what I heard about the economy generally confirms her view of the situation.

Unfortunately this kind of suffering will continue as long as Nigerians refuse to embrace FREE MARKETS and the tenets of SAP reforms started in 1986....privatization of all sectors and industries and resources AND full deregulation of ALL prices, including labour, energy and forex AND lifting ALL bans, tariffs and restrictions on ALL imports & exports of legal goods and services. This is the FIRST STEP to making Nigeria a prosperous and developed nation.

The woman in the video seems to be a fairly well to do Nigerian. She should know living in Nigeria is still better than living in the UK.

Good Luck to Nigeria.

But truth be told, it has never been this bad in Nigeria.
But it is not supposed to be like this

Must somebody be connected to power to be able to survive in Nigeria? It is just too bad.

That is why Nigeria is soooo backward even in a democracy

Democracy is supposed to mean liberty and prosperity

What we have today is oppression of the masses with all manner of Draconian policies while the leader live large in opulence and splendor.

If not that the stupid western countries are ones backing and supporting these terrible leaders

It is also happening in Nigeria

Nigerians allow themselves to be manipulated like pawns in a game of ludo or table tennis because the majority are gullible and shockingly passive. From N167.00 per litre before this evil government came into power to now N1,200 per litre, and yet Nigerians act as if everything is normal! I've already given up on these weak, suffering, and smiling people called Nigerians; it's as if they were born to suffer!

Why, for crying out loud, aren't the people—especially the downtrodden—out on the streets protesting against Tinubu and his cruel government?!

They don't want to come out and protest, because the man is from a majority trib. His majority trib are supporting and backing his hardship insensitive policies. Had it been the man was from a minority trib there would been effective protest that would ensure high price are revised, reversed.

I personally don't have a problem with the price of electricity, though I can understand that the experience of those in Band A is probably different.

I have always used electricity judiciously, so any pre paid electricity I buy tends to last for a reasonable length of time.

I have always been fastidious about switching off all gadgets FROM THE WALL.

First thing I do when I get out of bed is to pull my curtains so I take advantage of natural light. So, most if not all internal lights are off for most parts of the day unless I absolutely need it.

If I am leaving a room and not returning to that room within 5 mins, I switch off the light. Lights in any room that is not occupied is always switched off.

These are just habits that have become part of my routine. I don't do them because of electricity bill, but it has a very positive effect on my electricity bill. I have not bought electricity for about 3 months now, so cost of electricity is really not an issue for me.

Many Nigerians use electricity wastefully because we have one of the cheapest electricity prices in the world. But that is going to change with the introduction of new bands.

Let's see if you will still sing the same tune if one (1) unit of electricity eventually goes for N1000

You have your points based on your perspective but those workers you are rooting for, are they really working?
Imagine all the idle earners in LGAs and States getting paid for doing nothing. Thata the primary cause of steady inflation-increase. Imagine if such battalion of idlers contribute just equivalent of $500 per annum to the economy, that means there will be more forex and naira will be much stronger compared to the N1650-N1700 range it is today. That will in turn drastically drive down prices of all things especially the imported ones and dollar priced things like crude and its final products.
The govt too have a part in that because they always want support of the idlers and most times lack the will the keep local production going.
Yea I understand your point
They are valid

But it is these same political Papas and Daddies that have created, institutionalise the stinking system of mediocrity, nepotism, cronyism, tribalism,

Instead of promoting a system of meritocracy, accountability, service, the increase of the human development index.

That's what resulted in what you described above, in addition to what you wrote, instead of adding more value to the system by way of increased productivity of qualitative good and services, the hawks and vultures now focus on the dwindling limited resources that are left arrogating positions, hijacking and cornering opportunities to themselve and family by way of grand scale, multifaceted institutional corruption.

Using N950 it sells for in Abuja and N1640 to a dollar, it a averages 0.58 USD per liter. Not so far from Buhari and GEJ era.
Yea not so far

But imagine for a second how salary earner since GEJ regime whose salary has remained same since then will find it excruciatingly difficult to cope now.

Don't tell me about talk of adding side hustle or extra source of income, those who do that are trying to absolve themselves from blame.

At this exchange rate you mentioned 0.58usd it translated to N85 per litre during GEJ regime which was by far more conveniently affordable back then, the only problems then was the occasional scarcity not that they couldn't afford it back then.

Now it is over times X10 of that amount. How insensitive can a government be? This increases have caused multiplier effect all across the entire nations economy with reverberations leading to inflation prices of goods and services flying high while take home earning remain the same.

The reality is that many, many people have now abandoned their cars for public transport. Big men and women of our society for the first time are now seen hoping into buses, public transport.

Women now enter the bush cut any green grass they see without knowing their name boil and started eating due to chronic hunger and inability to afford the most basic of the basic food due to PBAT insensitive policies.

Even pure water average Nigerian can hardly afford these days.

The govt has lost touch with reality, completely disconnected from the people.

Let Nigerians come together to break up the hands of those that are devaluing their currency. This is what is causing the problem.

Price of petrol would have been N450 or even N225 per litre if not for the series of devaluation that was carried out in quick succession within a very short period of time.
