amicable09:
This is the one that touches me the most. I am forced to comment because two guys I respect so much on this forum were nominated for this same category.
If anyone has ever had the privilege of relating with Yorex2011 off nairaland, then that fellow will say he's more than ideal! He is the perfect candidate. What recruiters/employers call The Best Fit!
He's the round peg in all the round holes ever created. If we are mandated to openly drop our CVs here and now, I will sneak out, out of shame.
I recommend him for international gigs. I endorse him as husband material. I approve of him as a mentor and coach. I support his dreams as a techy guy.
I can go on and on but I must reserve space to celebrate Ferdyboss! Ferdy is a dream chaser! He is the ball! He is the striker! He is the goal post! I have the privilege of knowing this guy and I can comfortably entrust treasures in his hand.
The ideal candidate isn't amicable09. The ideal candidate is that job seeker who doesn't know it all but is everyday seeking to know. Pushing out CVs. Without a single invite is still persistent and unflinching. Who secretly and openly says to strangers here, on LinkedIn, facebook, twitter, career sites, unashamedly, "I need help! Please assist to review my cv"
The ideal job seeker is that one who derails a thread when he/she spots a resourceful person to politely ask, "can you send me materials for study? I applied for that job but haven't been shortlisted yet still I want to start practicing".
The ideal job seeker may be introverted as well. Too introverted to register on NL. Too shy to give a mention. Too afraid to ask for help in a public space and be turned down. However, smart enough to nicodemously follow threads as a guest and gain insights from questions asked and answers supplied. Bold enough to someday gather courage to register and follow the monikers they secretly admire.
The ideal candidate isn't the host, aren't the moderators and not even the organizers, the ideal candidate is YOU!
I therefore tonight, with so much joy, present to all jobseekers, the highly rated award, which we've all clinched so meritoriously, it is no other than.....
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE AWARD For 2017! I love you all! Yeah, Yorex2011 is one of the smartest engineers I know. The dude has a habit of handpicking one or two error questions during CEB-SHL and Dragnet GSE exams lol.His Intel on the Shell thread helped me a great deal. |

amicable09: Lol. Ojoro no be small!
But see this as a reflection of what "may" likely happen in 2019. -Calls were made for nominations, did you show up? - Due to poor turnout, nomination/voting period was extended. I ask again, did you maximize the opportunity? - Finally, voting was done. It wasn't a secret ballot process, it was open. Open to all. I am forced to take on the role of a Presiding Officer like I did in 2015 to count your votes here. Point them out to me please.
Before you shout Ojoro in 2019, go get your PVC. Get ready to cast your vote. It will be counted. Jaz like INEC won't count intentions. See this as a dress rehearsal, make sure at the recital, we don't find you playing football in a field only to come after election is over and winner declared to shout Ojoro. E no go work!
This whole process for the host and organizers most certainly have been stressful. But I want to believe the objective has been achieved. It wasn't an easy ride but here we are, on a thread because one lady said Yes! this can be achieved!
Well done Jaz. You're teaching me self motivation by the day. A big hand to the organizers. I applaud your efforts. Well done Fam! Kai! See epistle. Na play I dey play. |

Lane 2, JBV Avenue, JobLand Estate, Naira Land. January 29, 2017.
Dear All,
LETTER OF APOLOGY I am sincerely sorry for dragging this year's awards and not meeting up even self-set deadlines. I have been under some serious secular pressure, but even that is no good excuse to stand the good people of this forum up. Hopefully, I can still redeem myself please and let's round this up tonight.
Hey, I know it's a Monday night - most people are stressed and really just want to sleep. So, no ferenre, no time to waste, no dilly-dally, no plenty talk. 9PM tonight, and we would kick off with the awards.
For it's worth, I still hope we can make it fun.
Thanks for your anticipated cooperation as I trust I can depend on you.
Signed, Your Girl. Even you sef no dey take the ceremony serious. |

"You say if i believe, I go make oh I go make am oh I am ready to take over the world"
Even though some of us (awon boss ) were ready counting "30billion for the akant o"
As the year rolled across, the hustle and the bustle, the grind and twirl, we are still here:
"Everyday by day I just dey celebrate oh (eh) Everything I do e just dey penetrate oh I just want to say o thank you Jehovah oh"
And so therefore,
We go "Never forget where we come from..."
Here's how we do it:
To crown the awardees for the 4th edition of biggest award series on Nairaland, all you get to do is cast your vote.
Let the crown go to the deserving heads.
YOVO - You Only Vote Once - Make it count people!

dirtymoney: lol. I asked them when I'd be resuming... I guess time and my performance then has answered that question. Then I asked why despite the huge export of Nigeria's LNG over the years, most nigerian homes are still using kerosene and firewood to cook. Is that not a sign of inefficiency on their part having to attend to international demands when the patronage back home is nothing to write home about. Or is the price index not friendly despite the fact that we produce the gas locally. (probably that was the question that got them pissed off). Then I just secured admission for my degree. I also asked if there would be room for me to further my studies while working with them and if they'd use them as a criteria for promotion and change of cadre. Then I finally asked them how much their pay package was (as I needed to compare figures with another indigenous company that offered me a position)... They simply replied that the pay package was very very OK. Don't ask them these sort questions again lol! |
