Four persons yet to identified were about 7.30 on Monday night reportedly killed in their homes by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Two of the victims of the killings were residents of the notorious Lawan Bukar community, where Alhaji Fannami Gubio who was to be the candidate of the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) in Borno state governorship election was killed soon after returning back from performing his Friday prayers at the Central Mosque in the metropolis in 2011.

Another victim was killed at another trouble spot of the town,’ the Railway quarters’ , which formally head quartered the dreaded Islamic sect before relocating in 2009, when their leader, Mohammed Yusuf was killed by security operatives along with hundreds of his adherents.

The death of one of their victims at yet another notorious spot, Gamboru ward is causing apprehension among the residents of the town.

Though an official confirmation could not be gotten as at press time as the mobile line of the Spokesman of the JTF, Lt. Col. Sagir Musa was not reached.

But a military source whose spoke anonymously to journalists said the military has intensified efforts at getting the culprits.
