GodlySammy: If you intend to practice in Nigeria, Nursing is wiser to opt for. However Optometry is far more remunerative, but has a shallow Job prospect in Nigeria currently. Overseas, Optometry is better paying, more sought for in the labour market and way more rewarding. Most importantly, follow your heart. Pursue excellence and success will follow you, pants ... 1 Like |

Please help. I Scored 281 in the just concluded Jamb. And I opted for Optometry, Imo State Uni, thereafter I'll change my course to Medicine & surgery, still at the same Uni, cos I feel I will be considered since I am an indigene of the state. But thereafter the release of the result, on the verge of changing my course to medcine & surg, I read an article saying that the school won't admit students for med.surg this year cos they didn't pass the NUC's accreditation test stuff. I want to change my Institution to UNIZIK-med.surd.., now I'm very very confused if I should go for it, what are my chances, I heard getting admission there is kinda tough and my score is kinda low for such a competitive course, I'm not an Indigene as well.. So now, I'm very very confused on what to do, I don't know if I should change or not, please you guys should guide me through, I've been thinking about this day and night. Don't know If I'll be considered if I could scale through to at least 75% in their p.utme. Thanks in advance, help a brother please |

Edddie:Oga Unizik is a federal uni and don't do indigenes shit. If you are from the East, you stand a chance in catchement. I have folks with 276 and 76. Last year got admitted Also 320 & 88, 252 & 100%, 321 & 71. You stand a chance with about 76% Putme meanwhile aim 100% its possible. I also applied Medicine too. . Take care. Mind you I am a zikite-health related. . P.S don't quote me else I may not see it, don't knw why Nairaland restricted me. Just mention me in ur reply, I wud see it. 1 Like |

Edddie:Your UTME score isn't low and it isn't that high either. The score should make you work harder cos SOME of the other guys with 320+ would be on the 'relent' mode. You'll surely be considered if you score very high in the post UTME. That aside, you're in the catchment but please do not put that in mind... So, pray, prepare well and be sure of gaining admission. Good luck! 1 Like 1 Share |
