IMO STATE PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT

IMO STATE GOVERNMENT PLEDGES COMMITMENT TO AGRO INDUSTRIAL PROCESSING ZONE PROJECT

Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma has assured of the state's commitment to the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones Project of the Federal Government supported by the African Development Bank ( AfDB)
and the International Fund for Development ( IFAD).

Speaking at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House Owerri, when the project team paid a working visit to him, Governor Uzodimma said the government is interested in ensuring that everything needed to qualify Imo State for the programme is provided to enable the state benefit in all areas of the program.

Governor Uzodimma expressed gladness that the struggle of his administration towards stimulating economic activities of the state, especially by creating an economy through Agro based processes is yielding fruits.

He thanked the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and by extension the Federal Ministry of Finance for their choice of Imo State as a beneficiary of the pilot project.

On the reason for the visit, the Programme Team Leader, Barrister Richard Mbamara said they were in Imo State to get first hand information on the available infrastructural facilities in the state that will qualify the state for the program.

He said they have visited the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport and have seen the development trust and economic agenda of the governor and are satisfied with what is on ground.

According to Mbamara, Imo State is among the states identified as a model for the implementation of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones Project of the Federal Government supported by AfDB and IFAD.

In his contribution, the lead consultant of the project for Imo State, Dr. Chiedozie Egesi said,
" The team has already made some significant milestones having identified things that they will focus on which includes the Cargo Terminal at the airport"

Egesi added that they plan to visit some privately owned poultry farms at Ngor Okpala and the livestock processing hub at Okigwe where they hope to "establish dairy industry, leather industry, and beef industry in an integrated place" where they hope "the mission of the Bank - the Feed Africa Team - will be met and the bank will come to support them"

The rate of dispute lands at portharcourt road is huge..
One man's long fenced land was demolished... I wonder why people don't ask questions before paying money for land.

Heard one 19 year old boy bought a land of 200 million at hospital junction.. paid 13 mil for agent fee..

Mehn boys get money oo..

By the way I think warehouse junction and fire service junction needs fly over respectively

It isn’t a mall but a shopping centre with lockup shops! In fact this should be how ALL markets should be in Igboland! Either like this, or how Umahi is doing it in Abakaliki.

they don't need flyovers..they need the full implementation of the owerri masterplan ( which includes full construction of inner and outer rings roads in Owerri) and extention of full road constructions to other parts of imo state interlinking various villages and towns

I agree totally especially that inner ring road, a road that cuts across the four cardinal points of the city.
Hope has done the first phase, which is Egbeada bypass, he should reconstruct spibat road and follow up with other sections of the road, like extending federal secteriate road to mopol junction at onitsha road etc.

we didn't need to work on any tunnel and flyovers if successive imo state govts did what they were supposed to do in the first place which is construction of those planned ring roads..if you living around nekede or ihiagwa and you are coming to shoprite you have no business go through Wetheral, akachi road through owerri aba Road in the first instance
