We have beautiful dances in Africa and I know how to dance my traditional dance and love it. So this is not about African or Nigerian thing.

My two twin younger sisters who are usually 1st OR 2nd in their classes ended in 4th position because of this etighi and azonto. like OR dislike? Like both.

Frostyzone: Everytime I see somebody dancing one of those, I can't help feeling embarassed for the poor soul. If only he/she could see how ridiculous they look just then!

I believe Etighi aims to look ridiculous, it's supposed to be comical, not every dance requires you to keep your face like someone shoved a stick up your a**.

Azonto is applicable with a lot more beats than Etighi that is mostly connected to Afro beats, that being said, I have seen more ridiculous dances, there's one from Asia, I can't quite remember the name, but it's really silly, yet peeps in North America are dancing it like it could cure AIDS, but when we do our own, we condemn it and say it looks ridiculous.

Laugh and forget your sorrows then.

I would say azonto because azonto is more popular around the world,azonto is way more popular here in the UK, etighi is only popular in nigeria

I believe its because we've not accross the true etighi dance.
Take note that this dance originated from the old Calabar (Crossriver + Akwaibom). A reach and powerful dance that has been modernised a lil by some funky fellows.
